And she flew on a commercial plane the night before testing positive with a 99.5 degree temperate AIRBORNE EBOLA http://www.wnd.com/2014/10/ebola-victims-without-s ymptoms-could-still-be-contagious/ |

So i know this assumes a 100% transmission rate but think about this. Nurse #2 possibly exposed 132 people on the flight. If each of those people exposed another 132...thats 17,424 people. I know we're not talking 100% transmission...but that's a staggering number. So...when do we close the borders?? |

“Well a story just popped up that says that the Nurse's Boyfriend is infected” Well I can’t fault the guy - she is kinda cute. On the other hand it would have to be some REALLY special ‘tang for me to take that risk with someone treating an Ebola patient. |

Rat I agree. I was thinking out loud that the average person probably interacts with at least 100 people either directly or by proxy. If this thing gets loose and the transmission vectors improve then it will become a nightmare really quick. Factor in mutation and reinfection and this crap will be heirloom quality like the flue is now. |

And there you have it....LOL If this isn't a airborne virus, the people on the flight have little to worry about. |

This second nurse that came to Ohio to "plan her wedding" hits very close to home. Across town from where I live, but very near my mom's house, close to my gf's parents, and maybe a mile from summit racing (for those of you that know the Akron, Ohio area)where some very good friends work. All we can do is wait and hope she didn't hack on someone at her bachelorette party or whatever the hell they were doing. |

Please tell, what is "the real cause" of the Ebola outbreak in America? It's an incurable communicable virus. Who's fault is that? Starving underprivileged third world people eating bats. |

Who remember the old TV commercial, I think it was for hair color, that ended with... "and she told two friends, and they told two friends, and they told two friends"? That will get the job done. |

Transmission rate of Ebola is 1.3 to 1.8 |

This version of ebola is very different from previous versions. It appears to be much easier to catch as well trained medical personal in W Africa, Spain and now the US are catching it. The spread of the disease in Africa is much more aggressive as its moved from the country into the cities. The problem we are about to have is that people with real money in Africa will be getting sick and they will want to live, this means coming here by chartered jets. Anyone think Obama or his state department will turn away a 747 with several hundred potential ebola victims connected to billionaires. This is the reason for not banning flights the wealthy are on their way. Count on it. |

What does this mean? I would take that to men that if you have 10 infected patients, you can expect them to have infected 13 to 18 others. Transmission rate in Africa may be radically different that it would be in the US. Transmission rate in a US city may be radically different that in the rural US. |

One more odd thing about all of this. We are being told that you can't spread this unless you are showing symptoms. Are we really expected to believe at this point that a trained nurse who was fully aware that she had been working with an Ebola patient, was negligent enough to spread it to her boyfriend AFTER she started to show symptoms? REALLY? |

This version of ebola is very different from previous versions Ebola is an umbrella term for about five viruses. Also, there are the Marburg viruses which this current outbreak shares similarities with. We are being told that you can't spread this unless you are showing symptoms At a symposium, Tuesday, at the Johns Hopkins Bloomburg School of Public Health, it was stated that Ebola has been transmitted by asymptomatic individuals, although rarely. |

So how hard is this: They're talking about making Ebola care voluntary. That's fine. Volunteer to care for an Ebola patient and you are quarantined the instant you make contact with the patient. Your FULL quarantine continues until no less than 21 days after the end of treatment, whether that be recovery or death. You do not go home. You do not go outside. You do NOT get on a goddamned airplane. You become a permanent part of the hot zone and you do not leave until the patient has either been cured for 21 days...or dead for 21 days. Period. CDC? Anyone listening? |

might need longer than 21 days http://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/2014/10/16/drexel -study-claims-21-day-quarantine-for-those-exposed- to-ebola-might-not-be-long-enough/ |

Timeframe, unfortunately, is moot at this point. We can't even keep them off a damn plane...let's get some decent protocols in place - AND ENFORCE THEM - and then I bet we'll get plenty of information, since all exposed persons will, effectively, be under observation. Caring for the sick is one thing. We need to start thinking about the flipside - "how are we going to protect the healthy when it comes to that?". |

Why haven't we closed the borders? The liberal elitists believe that there are too many people on the planet! What better way to reduce the population to more "Manageable" levels on planet earth? http://www.overpopulation.org/ |

The problem with the border long precedes the Ebola crisis. But it sure does demonstrate the need for being able to control your borders. |
