Maryland does suck. We always end up there for Lacrosse tournaments. Visitors are forcibly disarmed at the border (even if a permitted concealed carry holder), yet the last time we went the parents that didn't know any better took their kids down to the inner harbor, and they all got to witness a gang get on the train and mug some poor woman and get off at the next stop. Thank God she wasn't raped or assaulted. And thank God I wasn't there to either have to sit there like a coward or risk escalating the situation. In my 20's, I had family living there and dated a smoking hot med student interning there, and spent a lot of time in the city. An awesome city pretty much ruined by thugs and politicians (sorry for being redundant). Those experiences are one of the reasons I might feel the need to have a concealed carry permit. Lovely city, Baltimore. |

Yes, I have lived here all my life except for 10 years in Northern VA, which shares many of the same problems. High taxes, corrupt government, high crime, no gun rights, lousy weather most of the year, miserable traffic, constant road construction, and yet lousy roads. There are many nice motorcycle roads in the state, actually, but none too close to Baltimore. I work in the DC area and commute from White Marsh every day, and I usually have more trouble getting into and out of Baltimore than I do getting to where I work. I hate it. I'm just ranting but somebody brought it up and I wanted to help rant. I can't wait to leave here, but I can't just yet. |

Western MD isn't so bad, socially-wise. We still have the same retardo CCW laws, but at least we don't have the stupid personal-property tax rules of NoVa. I do keep hoping the MD/PA line will move about five miles south, though - I have an AWESOME house, have zero desire to leave...but it would be nice to be able to carry. I will say, we have one hell of a first response network. When I had my accident in '08, MSP (MD State Police) life-flighted me to Johns Hopkins / MD Shock-Trauma, and made sure I was alive on arrival so Hopkins staff could put me back together. If you're gonna have an accident...this is about the best place to have one. Although it might not matter much for very long...since we're apparently importing Ebola now (like literally...NOW): http://www.fredericknewspost.com/public/dallas-ebo la-patient-flying-into-frederick-municipal-airport /article_4ce5563a-554d-11e4-8b41-0017a43b2370.html |

Wow, somebody that actually knows it's spelled Johns Hopkins. PA, specifically Philly, isn't any better. Well maybe a few thousand less potholes! |

Wow, somebody that actually knows it's spelled Johns Hopkins. Well, after spending more than two weeks in their ICU while they bolted me back together in '08...it's kinda ingrained in the ol' gray matter |

Johns Hopkins . . .i think he was Ruths Chris cousin. Neither of them, however, were Attorneys General. |

To be fair, there are TWO things good about the Baltimore area. We have access to world class medial care, which is nice if you have chronic conditions, and the public water is of excellent quality and very cheap. That's literally all I can think of. |

OK, I'll give you any seafood seasoned with Old Bay also. But you loose points for speed cameras placed where it is clearly about revenue and not about safety. You %*(*#$*@. |

You guys should work for the tourism bureau there. Really makes me want to visit! NC has personal property tax, too, I found out about 8 years ago. Not sure how it compares to MD. The rest is pretty wide open, though. |

We don't have a personal property tax, as such. VA does, at least in the northern part where I lived. But our other taxes are so high (and "fees" like tolls) that it doesn't matter. It's a really expensive place to live with not many redeeming values. I really, really hate it here. It is a fact that people are moving out of Maryland in droves, and it is the productive people who are moving. Eventually there will be nobody but welfare recipients and government employees. I don't think that will work. |

I'm from the midwest, while the crabs are good/great, the whole crab cake thing lost all credibility when they stuck it on a ribeye… I grew up stuck between the food for the cows that became the food. You don't stick anything on it other than maybe a little pepper and salt - putting crab on a steak is akin to slapping my neighbor in the face. |

Just have bad vibes from my years in MD. No desire to live there again. I like Bal'more and Annapolis, though. And nice people. I loved being called "Hon" at the Graul's checkout! |

Less go dawn da awshen, hawn. Translation? Let's go down the ocean, hon (let's go to the beach).
I'm not a big beach guy (well...Key West...), but I love my mountain views! |
