I've recently started a new company, doing nothing but consulting for difficult helicopter transmission projects. Kept my "day job" . . . where I can, as my co-worker has, stay until I am 84 should I wish. And thanks to all the nice folks who are demanding wind, solar and alternative power sources . . . while consuming (I am sitting here looking at 4 - 27" monitors, 2 iPads, a MacAir, a PC and 2 iPhones on chargers . . . more and more power . . . . there is, already scheduled and funded, about $2,000,000,000 worth of work ahead. Things like NYTRANSCO and N.E.W.S. have effectively become an annuity. I went to 2 interviews last month . . . but I staying in the area and shopping for a farm (the "barn pics" aren't entirely as a result of my altruistic interest in art. :-) Besides . . . once you've lived in Sag Harbor . . . well, NY is bearable. I spent 4 years living in Manhattan Beach and Coronado before the weirdos conquered the state. I still get there about once a month to visit grandkids and . . . well, it never fails to amaze. California is to states what Detroit is to cities. Turns out perfect doesn't work so well in practice. | ||

I've been getting hassled by the IRS and California State Franchise Tax Board since 2012. They claim I've been earning money in California by cleaning up exhumed graves and crime scenes. They caught on to my little scheme of using supersonic transport to work that job while still clocking 60-70 hours a week here in Georgia. I've received tax bills from $5800 up to $8800 based on money I supposedly earned there during my residence here. Yes, friends, that's right... I have to prove that I wasn't working in California. Four times now, I've done it. Twice each from the IRS and CA FTB. You can bet I have documented every single correspondence, certified mail, confirmed faxes, notarized documents, 3 copies of each, 1 of which is stored in the safe at my place of business. I'd call it harassment if I thought the case would get anywhere. | ||

In the make-believe world of Barack Obama, the American financial system melted down hours before he took office due to the crimes of others. He then quickly saved it, and devised an economic plan that has made Americans far better off than when he entered office. Obama next went on to revolutionize the energy sector to lower gas and electricity prices, brought stability to Iraq only to see it destroyed by others, and crafted a unique outreach to the Islamic world that has lessened the threat of violence and cooled passions in the Middle East. The net result, as the president reminds us, is a more secure, quieter world than anytime in history and unprecedented good economic times at home. Whether such constructions are proof of delusions or mendacity — or both — the reader can decide. | ||
