Actually the K, G, P, J, and A bodies (Aries, Daytona, Shadow, LeBaron, and Spirit) were NOT imports. The DSM cars were imports. But the 2.2 family were all US. Some came with a 3.0 mitsu engine...but the chassis was all Motown. Very nicely done car. I still own my first new car, a 91 Daytona CS competition package car, one of 150 total and one of 26 with my options. 74k miles, one owner, show quality. I DO have a 5.7 hemi swap in progress...but its going into my 72 satellite station wagon |

I can top that. A friend of mine built this thing. I machined a few parts for him and helped work on it. I believe it's an '07 charger, ex squad car, that HAD a hemi. With a Cummins and a 5 speed. It fit with very little cutting. Some beefing up. He's running the stock rear end, he will be breaking that. He just got it together last week and he's still in testing stages. He's taking it easy for now but the thing scoots. Matt |

Oooh that's nice, that's an idea that's been tickling the back of my brain for a while now. I was planning on a Crown Vic as a base though. |

If you're doing it, I'd think a 4BT would be a better option. Still a powerhouse...MUCH less weight...still readily available parts...and a smaller installation profile. |
