Aes and Blake will love this one a local company built the Israeli hydrofoils Really cool hardware fast well armed GE gas turbines ran over the waves when on the foils. Several were sold to Israel and our Navy bought one to evaluate. Sales looked up Elliott the shipyard owner went to my church he was rolling $ school had new wing built. Local news had a story about a problem with the Boat. They hit a whale at about 45 knots on the foils! Boat pitch poled most of the crew were severely injured. Program ended that day. The whale looked like he was ran through Giant Vegematic ! | ||

As to the first link... Yes. The models don't fit the reality. The predictions have been wrong. The assumptions have not been changed. The reasons are the same. as to renewable energy hopeless? No. It's just very expensive and putting a windmill up, or a million, is not the answer. Earth Orbital solar, Thorium reactors and breeder/waste disposal systems, millions of solar orbit mirrors, and burning politicians, all have great promise to cure our addiction to oil. I don't think any are favored by the Greenies, since solutions are not actually desired or tolerated. How can you make money or gain power on a problem that is solved? | ||

Check out "Pandora's Promise" on Netflix. Several environmentalists have made a film about "seeing the light" on nuclear power. Now, it is a film made by environmentalists, so you have to power through the dung about air pollution killing millions of people a year (dung...see what I did there?  ) and the diatribe about global warming, but it's still pretty good. Ironically, they equate the anti-nuclear protest crowd with global warning 'deniers' because they are 'rejecting the science'. Listening to them drone on about global warming, I thought they sounded exactly like the folks claiming that nuclear power will be the end of the world. Both are based on lies, misinformation, and a desire to rid Mother Earth of excess people. | ||

My take is that the Greenies are a created front group pushing an anti-western, anti-industrial, anti-Christian ( yet with it's own highly intolerant "faith" ) with it's roots in the Soviets Imperialism.... Kenm........ The Vegans will complain if you eat the roast watermelons. Ted Turner would be pleased his predictions were correct.  For the record I hate the oil and insurance companies too. They do not pay me to point out the lies of folk like M. Mann & the Prophet Gore. One thing I hate more are the folk that want to socialize..... the above so they have the power and can get bigger bribes. I think the last few years with 2/3 of the legal citizens programmed to lose health insurance ( illegally on hold until after the election ) and high energy costs show my bias is correct. | ||

Kind of funny reading what is being pedaled in Hollyweird to extend peoples lives. Looks to me like it's all unproven, and all VERY expensive. Definitely being marketed in the right place. Even if you could live forever in theory, there are just things in your body that seem to me would wear out, leaving you with a suboptimal quality of life at best. Too many surgeries to fix various things and you are filled with scar tissue that creates all kinds of issues. I hope I can find the ability to leave this world gracefully when the time come, not clinging to something that is unattainable. If it goes airborne, it could become a real plague with modern air travel. So far.... so crappy, but not yet a "stay home and lock the doors until the power goes out" issue. | ||

Noticed is really the wrong word here. Rammed down my throat is a bit closer to the truth. It's a shame that they can't just take a stance that goes with a label that hasn't been tarnished by a long history of failures and bloodshed. Wouldn't that be simpler than being pissed about being accurately labeled based on your views? Ebola airborne? That would really be bad. Even with the need for "direct contact of bodily fluids", does that mean that you can be infected by someone sneezing on you? Seems possible, even if fairly unlikely. | ||
