As for world opinion, particularly in the form of that global shmoo the “international community,” there’s apparently nothing it can’t do. It is the secret to “leading from behind.” Behind what, you ask? The international community. What is the international community? The thing we’re leading from behind. From Russia to Syria, Iran to North Korea, the president is constantly calling on the international community to do something he is unwilling to do. When Russia was carving Crimea away from Ukraine, Obama vowed that “the United States will stand with the international community in affirming that there will be costs for any military intervention in Ukraine.” After pro-Russian forces shot down a civilian plane over Ukraine, and as Russia lined up troops for a possible invasion, Obama sternly warned that Russia “will only further isolate itself from the international community.”

Taken together, these two ideas — that everything will work out in the long run, and that there’s some entity other than the U.S. that will take care of things — provide a license to do, well, if not nothing, then certainly nothing that might detract from your golf game.

Sorry, but I had to fix that one.

I remember him lying to you and me, too. That said, his lies pale in comparison to those of our current pResident.

Thanks for the catch.

Oh, I remember it well, but if we impeached politicians for lying to the people we would run out of politicians on the first day. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Please don't use Google; use StartPage: https://startpage.com/

StartPage uses Google as the engine but searches for you by proxy, and the search results can also be viewed by proxy (although doing so causes some pages to load slowly).

.....Obama reassured us during the Bowe Bergdahl affair that George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Franklin Roosevelt all similarly got American prisoners back when their wars ended — except that none of them were in office when the Revolutionary War, Civil War, or World War II officially ended.

.....

In truth, history is messier. Unfortunately, only force will stop seventh-century monsters like the Islamic State from killing thousands more innocents. Obama may think that reminding Putin that he is now in the 21st century will so embarrass the dictator that he will back off from Ukraine. But the brutish Putin may think that not being labeled a 21st-century civilized sophisticate is a compliment.

In 1935, French foreign minister Pierre Laval warned Joseph Stalin that the Pope would admonish him to go easy on Catholics — as if such moral lectures worked in the supposedly civilized 20th century. Stalin quickly disabused Laval of that naiveté. “The Pope?” Stalin asked, “How many divisions has he got?”

There is little evidence that human nature has changed over the centuries, despite massive government efforts to make us think and act nicer. What drives Putin, Boko Haram, or ISIS are the same age-old passions, fears, and sense of honor that over the centuries also moved Genghis Khan, the Sudanese Mahdists, and the Barbary pirates.

Obama’s naive belief in predetermined history — especially when his facts are often wrong — is a poor substitute for concrete moral action.

Kudos to Bill Whittle in his latest "Afterburner". The United States of America does not have a President. What will happen in 1,6, or 18 months when Putin, ISIS,Hamas, and China realize that Obama has already checked out? This little man who has been given everything in life, is psychologically an extreme Narcissist and can not handle being mocked. We are in trouble, folks.

Imminent Terrorist Attack Warning By Feds on US Border

AUGUST 29, 2014

Islamic terrorist groups are operating in the Mexican border city of Ciudad Juarez and planning to attack the United States with car bombs or other vehicle born improvised explosive devices (VBIED). High-level federal law enforcement, intelligence and other sources have confirmed to Judicial Watch that a warning bulletin for an imminent terrorist attack on the border has been issued. Agents across a number of Homeland Security, Justice and Defense agencies have all been placed on alert and instructed to aggressively work all possible leads and sources concerning this imminent terrorist threat.

Specifically, Judicial Watch sources reveal that the militant group Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) is confirmed to now be operating in Juarez, a famously crime-infested narcotics hotbed situated across from El Paso, Texas. Violent crimes are so rampant in Juarez that the U.S. State Department has issued a number of travel warnings for anyone planning to go there. The last one was issued just a few days ago.

How to deal with the Islamic State right now is a very tough question, particularly if you’re Barack Obama. What bothers me is his decision to announce to the world he has pretty much no idea what he’s doing. Taking your time to formulate a strategy, even — especially! — a strategy necessitated by your own mistakes and inattention is entirely defensible.

But when the world already thinks you’re weak, vacillating, and overwhelmed, saying in the pithiest way possible that you’re weak, vacillating, and overwhelmed strikes me as a mistake

And one of the most accurate summations....ever.

At last, we know the reason why comedy writers don’t make fun of President Obama much.

It turns out the man is completely unmockable.

We learn this from Jim Downey, the longtime “Saturday Night Live” specialist in political japery. “If I had to describe Obama as a comedy project, I would say, ‘Degree of difficulty, 10 point 10,’” the writer says in the expanded new edition of the “SNL” oral history book, “Live from New York.”

“It’s like being a rock climber looking up at a thousand-foot-high face of solid obsidian, polished and oiled,” Downey says. “There’s not a single thing to grab onto — certainly not a flaw or hook that you can caricature. [Al] Gore had these ‘handles,’ so did Bush, and Sarah Palin, and even Hillary had them. But with Obama, it was the phenomenon — less about him and more about the effect he had on other people and the way he changed their behavior. So that’s the way I wrote him.”

Got that? The charter Choom Ganger, confessed eater of dog and snorter of coke. The doofus who thinks the language spoken by Austrians is “Austrian,” that you pronounce the p in “corpsman” and that ATMs are the reason why job growth is sluggish. The egomaniac who gave the queen of England an iPod loaded with his own speeches and said he was better at everything than the people who work for him. The empty suit with so little real-world knowledge that he referred to his brief stint working for an ordinary profit-seeking company as time “behind enemy lines.” The phony who tells everyone he’s from Chicago, though he didn’t live there until his 20s, and lets you know that he’s talking to people he believes to be stupid by droppin’ his g’s. The world-saving Kal-El from a distant solar system who told us he’d heal the planet and cause the oceans to stop rising. The guy who shared a middle name with one of the most hated dictators on earth.

Nope, nothing there to mock. No way to get a grip on this polished, oiled obsidian. So comedy writers didn’t and mostly still don’t. Jim Downey isn’t in dereliction of his comedy duty to take down the high and the mighty, or so he begs you to think. He’s just too obtuse to see Scrooge McDuck quantities of comedy gold when they’re sitting right in front of him.

Another theory: The president is simply disconnected from events, indifferent to the details of governance, incompetent in the execution of policy. Last fall, following the disastrous rollout of the ObamaCare website, it emerged that the president had not had a single private meeting with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius for more than three years—an indicator, given that this was his highest political priority, of the quality of attention he was giving lesser issues. It also turned out that the president had gone for nearly five years without knowing that the National Security Agency was bugging the phones of foreign leaders. In a revealing portrait from October 2013 in the New York Times, the president was described as “impatient and disengaged” during White House debates about Syria, “sometimes scrolling through messages on his BlackBerry or slouching and chewing gum.” The president is also known to have complained to aides about what he called “decision fatigue,” demanding memos where he can check “agree,” “disagree,” or “let’s discuss.”

good read, quite a lot more to grasp.

To be fair, If I became President ( Never happen ) I would be reviled by almost all of the D.C. crowd.

I would look to make deals, sure, you can't change D.C. overnight without Liberal Use of WMD's, and tempting as that is, it may not be a good idea. Satan only knows what Jerks the Governors would appoint to the Senate before we could have elections.

No what would drive the Beltway folk crazy is I'm a tech head, not a People Person.

For example...By the time the folk over at the Dept. Of Education realized I'd replaced them with a web based form to get funding, I'd have rented the building out for a reality show.

I think the "Educate America" quiz show where the Dept. of Education people are ambushed by questions from a 1895 Brooklyn High school exam would get high praise for it's Japanese humiliation game show approach. Failure to answer 5 of 5 questions costs you your pension and get's you assigned to teaching remedial English in a Federal Prison for Illegal Aliens. Wearing a Dunce cap.

So..... yeah. they'd hate me.

http://www.americanthinker.com/2014/08/the_return_ of_the_arab_spring.html

I believe if you do a count Obama has got more people killed than George Bush.

Bush freed fifty million people. The occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq were horribly messed up IMHO, and yes, I had a better plan, but they didn't ask me.

Obama betrayed Poland, the Iranian protesters, Libya, Egypt, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Jordan, etc.... and it looks like maybe Ukraine and his Master Vladimir.

And, yes, I had a better plan but they didn't ask me.

And I couldn't afford the $500,000 bribe required by the Obama Campaign to talk to the president.

I think you can still buy a piece of him if you want, his Campaign is still collecting money.

http://www.barackobama.com/#get-the-facts

I would like to address his bullet points, briefly.

1. Climate.
Obama has spent billions of taxpayer dollars to pay back campaign contributors. You too can get other people's money by bribing Obama. You don't even ever have to pay it back! See Solyndra!

In fact, Bribing Obama is the best investment many people have ever made!

2. Gun Violence Prevention.
You too can throw away the Constitution and live at the sufferance of your armed masters. Never mind the facts that gun violence goes down when the Constitution is obeyed and Citizens are "allowed" to have civil rights. Your money is needed to suppress those pesky rights! You too could get a federal grant to write papers on how evil the NRA is... just Bribe often and Bribe early.

In fact, Bribing Obama is the best investment many people have ever made!

3.Health care.
This has been a wonderful thing for Insurance companies and others who have bribed Obama to not have to obey the law you do. Like Congress. Heck the First Lady's college buddy got over a Billion $ to make a website that didn't work, and all they had to do to seal the deal, was Bribe Obama.

In fact, Bribing Obama is the best investment many people have ever made!

4. Immigration.
Rally behind the President as he makes sure that the richest men in America who have bribed him can have cheap labor and screw Americans out of their jobs.

In fact, Bribing Obama is the best investment many people have ever made!

5. Jobs and the Economy.
Obama's laser like focus on jobs has made sure that every year of his Regime there has been higher and higher unemployment, Higher inflation, and lower pay. Best news is if you were a Wall Street firm that Bribed Obama, you made out awesome!

In fact, Bribing Obama is the best investment many people have ever made!

6. Stand with Women.
Yes indeed. Because Women are not allowed to ride in Obama's Golf cart, or play golf with him, since it would not follow Sharia Law, the Women Are Slaves Laws Obama has supported throughout the world with his collaboration with the Arab Spring and Civilization's Fall. So STAND UP! women, and know that YOU FAILED to bribe Obama enough to make sure that his White House obeys the law and pay women the same as men, not 16% less, like they do now.

In fact, Bribing Obama is the best investment many people have ever made!

There... Now you Know. Keep those donations to the Obama Campaign going.

Yes, that's not a joke. They really are taking stupid people's money, illegally, for his Campaign.

The "news" is incredibly depressing these days, and to think that 0bama has at least two more years in office. It's staggering to think that ANYONE still supports him; how morally corrupt a person must be to look past all his deceit and sabotage and say, with a straight face, that he's the messiah. The last person to do so on this thread said it was because they got some stimulus money. Seems to me that almost ALL Democrats owe their allegiance to the party because they're on the receiving end of the government tit.

That seemingly endless supply of warm mother's milk is supplied, of course, not by the government at all, but by the sweat and toil of actual productive, working Americans. I'm absolutely THRILLED to know that my tax dollars are being spent to buy Democrat allegiance (and lavish vacays for the pResident and his extended family).

Not.

We learn today that yet another American has had his head chopped off by the religion of peace, and that a British citizen is likely next. Like I said, depressing. Good news, though: Our pResident doesn't have a plan.

And why should he? I mean, whose side do you think he's on, anyway? It's certainly not OUR side.

Bill Whittle is on our side, however:

Letter from the parents of Aaron Carson Vaughn of SEAL Team VI: Please resign, Mr. President
Special to WorldTribune.com
By Billy and Karen Vaughn
Aug 27, 2014

After finally choosing to view the barbaric, on-camera beheading by ISIS of freelance war correspondent James Foley, I have been left with a level of rage known only to those of us who have sacrificed unspeakable offerings on the altar of world peace.

My offering was my only son — Aaron Carson Vaughn. Aaron was a member of SEAL Team VI. He was killed in action when a CH47D Chinook, carrying thirty Americans and eight Afghans was shot down in the Tangi River Valley of Afghanistan on Aug. 6, 2011.

Many times over the past three years, I have been asked what drove my son to choose his particular career. What made him want to be a Navy SEAL? My answer is simple.

Aaron Vaughn was a man who possessed the courage to acknowledge evil. And evil, once truly acknowledged, demands response. Perhaps this is why so few are willing to look it in the eye. It is much simpler — much safer — to look the other way.

That is, unless you are the leader of the Free World.

As Commander-in-Chief, your actions — or lack thereof — Mr. President, cost lives. As you bumble about in your golf cart, slapping on a happy face and fist-pounding your buddies, your cowardly lack of leadership has left a gaping hole — not only in America’s security — but the security of the entire globe. Your message has come across loud and clear, sir: You are not up to this job. You know it. We know it. The world knows it.

Please vacate the people’s house and allow a man or woman of courage and substance to seize the reigns of this out-of-control thug-fest and regain the balance we, America, have provided throughout our great history.

Thanks to your “leadership” from whatever multi-million dollar vacation you happen to be on at any given moment, the world is in chaos. What’s been gained, you’ve lost. What’s been lost, you’ve decimated. You’ve demolished our ability to hold the trust of allies. You’ve made a mockery of the title “President.” And you’ve betrayed the nation for which my son and over 1.3 million others have sacrificed their very lives.

But this should come as no surprise, since your wife uttered a vile statement on Feb. 18, 2008, during the primary campaign — one that speaks volumes of your true convictions. “For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country,” she said.

I am sure my deceased son thanks you for that, Mrs. Obama. Oh, and you’re welcome.

Never in my lifetime have I witnessed such despair and such growing fear that the world’s last best hope, America, has finally been dismantled. Perhaps the better word is transformed — fundamentally transformed. Come to think of it, it’s become difficult — if not impossible — to believe things haven’t gone exactly as you planned, Mr. President.

Amazingly, in five short years, your administration has lurched from one disaster to another. You spearheaded the ambitious rush to end the wars in both Iraq and Afghanistan — with no plan on how to do so effectively. Also, the release of “the Taliban five” in exchange for one American — without consulting Congress — is also on your shoulders.

You have been at the helm during unprecedented national security leaks — including, but not limited to the outing of SEAL Team VI on the Bin laden raid, the outing of the Pakistani doctor who provided the intelligence for that raid, the outing of Afghanistan’s CIA station chief, and the outing of your personal “kill list” to make you look tough. In addition, 75 percent of American deaths in Afghanistan and 83 percent of Americans-wounded-in-action have occurred on your watch, according to icasualties.org.

And now, we have this recent, heinous event: the beheading of an American citizen by a barbaric organization you foolishly referred to as “the JV team” in your statements to the New Yorker magazine in January.

You, sir, are the JV team. It’s time for you to step down and allow a true leader to restore our honor and protect our sons and daughters.

America has always been exceptional. And she will be again. You, Mr. President, are a bump in our road.

Black home ownership . . dropping like a rock.

We're teaching folks that as long as you have a bogey man to blame . . . . you're not responsible.

I'm confounded . . . it'll be hard to be this friction' stupid unintentionally.
