The two trolls band together. How utterly predictable.

It's ok, you are forgiven. Jesus died for you too. All you really need to do is accept that fact.

Or else.

Matthew, it's ok. You can come out of the closet with Blake. Support always makes it easier.

Shouldn't you and Tom both be in church right now? Tsk tsk. Bad Christians. Naughty. Forgetting the Sabbath. Or was the Sabbath on Saturday. I always forget as there seems to be a disagreement amongst the various dogmas on that too. Man, these interpretations are a pain.

I also find it funny how when agreeing with someone posts it somehow means you are banding together with them. You must be some weak minded people who just need a bunch of others to surround them with agreement in all to get comfort.

The end is near for the separatists, but desperation and Russian military build ups doesn't end this crisis anytime soon though.

"So, do YOU support ISIS? The Ukranian "seperatists"? Hamas? and why?"

That's such a stupid question. What difference does it make? According to you the leftist media is always lying so how do you suppose we are getting the truth.
Unless you are willing to take up arms with the Israeli or Iraqui army your support like your talk is cheap.

Earlier I made mention of religion being indoctrinated into us, referencing marriage as an example where someone, a not religious person, might like a church wedding and the institution of marriage, yet for no religious reason whatsoever. Thus a hypocritical nature would abound such a person.

I was watching Moto GP earlier and see another somewhat out of kilter example exists. The national anthem. It's everywhere, and particularly in sporting events the world over. The obviousness is, sporting events are often played against nations and nationalities, thus a national anthem is symbolic to a person and their nation. But the reality is, national anthems, they too have their roots in religious systems, and this is what we adhere to when we honour our nations anthem. Hence we stand to attention. Or at least still, and in silence. Look down. Close our eyes. Take off hats. Whatever.... These are all marks of respect for a religion, or a (religious) figurehead representing a nation - but not just the nation (devoid of religion [or at least where sports or similar events are concerned]). Does this make a non religious person a fan of sports, a hypocrite when they offer these marks of respect as a matter of habit at the very least.....something we just do - without even giving it a thought. Perhaps we are thinking about it - doing it knowingly but unknowingly. Is this how indoctrination works or simply affects us, or secretly do we all want to believe. Or do we without even realising it. Is god so kind even the unbelievers will end up in heaven....

Well obviously not (or is it), but it's all but impossible to live a life in and amongst any society and be devoid of any religion.

This presents a problem. If religion didn't exist, whether there are gods or beings or places to worship. Or at the very least, beliefs in something where all of mankind whether a believer or not (confusing I know) had a structureless (of religion) existence, what would we have instead. How would the world have found some sort of order. I make the point because the one thing all religions appear to have done throughout the ages and right up until today, is control the people.

Amazingly, about half of the world don't believe in religion (I'm sure this is a modern take / statistic) yet all of the world accept the presence of religion. Or is it, we have to accept its presence as there is no alternative and religion has run its course so deep through time there never will be an alternative.

Or does half the world know something I've yet to see for myself?

Rocket,

Interesting comments. Personal opinion here but there are grand themes in the world we inhabit. They are not written but can be observed. Skillful observers can sense these patterns no matter what culture they come from. I think a world view that considers a prime mover beyond the unsatisfying notion of just chance or just because, regardless of the detailed minutia supporting chance, is going to have traction with many people. Hence we have many spiritual paths.

It is the freezing/hardening of the interpretation of these observations into scriptural dogma that causes a lot of problems. Avoiding dogma and embracing personal freedom has a cost but it is worth it if it is done with humility.

The people of the world must move past fixation on dogma and law toward freedom and personal responsibility for their own moral decisions. We (most anyway) all have a little voice that that comments on our moral actions and we need to learn to listen. This alone would get the world to quite a better place but the path from religious law to personal moral responsibility is difficult. Anyway this is working for me right now.

Those who go on handwringing and prevaricating endlessly concerning shades of gray are people who have become blind to what is wrong and what is right.

The Apostle Paul said it well when he wrote to the Christians in Rome who were dealing with exactly such issues:

God’s wrath is being revealed from heaven against all the ungodly behavior and the injustice of human beings who silence the truth with injustice. This is because what is known about God should be plain to them because God made it plain to them.

Ever since the creation of the world, God’s invisible qualities—God’s eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, because they are understood through the things God has made. So humans are without excuse.

Although they knew God, they didn’t honor God as God or thank him. Instead, their reasoning became pointless, and their foolish hearts were darkened. While they were claiming to be wise, they made fools of themselves.

They exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images that look like mortal humans: birds, animals, and reptiles. So God abandoned them to their hearts’ desires, which led to the moral corruption of degrading their own bodies with each other.

They traded God’s truth for a lie, and they worshipped and served the creation instead of the creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. That’s why God abandoned them to degrading lust.

Their females traded natural sexual relations for unnatural sexual relations. Also, in the same way, the males traded natural sexual relations with females, and burned with lust for each other. Males performed shameful actions with males, and they were paid back with the penalty they deserved for their mistake in their own bodies.

Since they didn’t think it was worthwhile to acknowledge God, God abandoned them to a defective mind to do inappropriate things. So they were filled with all injustice, wicked behavior, greed, and evil behavior.

They are full of jealousy, murder, fighting, deception, and malice. They are gossips, they slander people, and they hate God. They are rude and proud, and they brag. They invent ways to be evil, and they are disobedient to their parents.

They are without understanding, disloyal, without affection, and without mercy. Though they know God’s decision that those who persist in such practices deserve death, they not only keep doing these things but also approve others who practice them. (Romans 1:18-32 CEB)

Cataract2, please reread your postings as you are simply reacting with "nyah na nyah" responses. You have nothing substantive to say along with your compatriot. The bottom line is that you respond to honest questions with churlish behavior. I am glad you are having fun as you have spewed about thirty times in the past two days but you are simply a jejune poster.

RE: my political satire postings. I love them and have had a lifelong love affair with cartooning and the greats: Charles Addams, Herblock, Gary Trudeau, Walt Kelly, and now Ramirez who is knocking on the door of their Pantheon. Cartoons are a satirical and artistic method of conveying a point and at their best, spawn dialog. An easy bet would be that most consumers of the "President 0" thread enjoy them. You just kick sand.

Political cartoons as a means of social change date back to Martin Luther. He used them to point out the corruption and hypocrisy of the Church.

Among the things objected to was one that has made a big come back recently........ indulgences.... aka carbon credits.

If you donate to the priests you got a forgiveness slip. You could even pay in advance for sins to come.

Wow, I go away for the weekend and a thread about Ukraine descends into a "there is no God" thread.

Back on topic. Sort of.

---"My comment was in reply to an accusation of me having poor judgement, it being said I believe in Hamas propaganda.
Again for your benefit, millions around the world condemn Israel's murder of innocent people, including hundreds of children.
Absolutely nothing to do with "useful idiots" as described in your link then."

Again, millions of useful idiots. You believe the terrorists, who hide weapons in schools, and use those poor children you're so concerned about as human shields, and yet condemn Israel as they drop leaflets warning people away from the areas they're about to bomb. Just as you believe the ex-head of the KGB of Soviet Russia when it comes to Ukraine. You appear to default to believing despots, murderers and terrorists vs. the free world. Lots of people did that back in the 60's and 70's. Apologists for the communists. They were wrong. They were "useful idiots", as their masters called them.

Don't be an idiot.

No that's not what I do Hoot.

I've seen an appalling video this weekend. Rockets fired, I know not where from or where to, or when, but about six kids sat about twenty feet away with what appeared to be an adult keeping them in place. I don't know if the video is real (I assume it was) or made up, but if true, very alarming.

But I do not believe for a moment all the kids being killed in Palestine are sat behind rocket launchers. I do believe the vast majority of kids are being killed because Israel's targeting is almost entirely random, as observed by those appointed to do so, and by a host of other persons and bodies there or close to.

There is no excuse. Only an idiot would think otherwise.

But it sure seems like all of your comments are anti America, and anti Israel, and it echoes the lies propagated by the people you're defending.

So when I say "Don't be an idiot", I mean don't believe and parrot the propaganda, because they're counting on you doing so, especially in regards to the plight of the Palestinians whom are caught in the crossfire of Iran, several terrorist groups, and Israel, and used as cannon fodder to show off their corpses to a fawning foreign press. You must certainly be aware of the strategy of Hamas. They can't win on the battlefield. All they can do is get kids killed and hope public opinion swings their way. Don't fall for it.

"I do believe the vast majority of kids are being killed because Israel's targeting is almost entirely random"

Bombs are expensive. I doubt it's random.

Problem is, they stockpile munitions in schools, mosques, and hospitals. If a human shield gets killed, who is to blame? They found a stash of rockets at a UN facility a few weeks ago. The UN asshats gave the rockets back to Hamas. And people wonder why the US citizenry has had enough of the UN. All it is now is a podium for every piss pot dictator to spew his bile. Their humanitarian endeavors are rife with corruption. We should spend our money more wisely.
