Poking fun = hate? Don't you live in a black and white world. Actually, I believe this entire forum just views the world as black and white, left vs right, Democrat vs Republican, us vs them. You guys need to get out more. Maybe travel outside of the US once in a while. Might open you up a bit. Course, I imagine you are to afraid to do that.

Of course I'm poking fun at the liberal interpretation of hate speech when I say that. I guess sarcasm doesn't travel well on the web. Sadly, by today's standards though, yes, hate speech. Brought to you by thin skinned liberals.

Oh wait... I forgot... There's that double standard thing. It's not hate speech when a liberal does it.

BTW... Been to four countries. Five if you include Wisconsin. Tended to avoid the "resort" thing too. Funny what you believe without any proof.

Cataract Your the one that's afraid Do not place your limitations on me. What your trying to do is called Projection a common way to blame ones issues on another.
You pretend there are no moral imperatives or defined positions of right and wrong. You will discover that those positions have stood the test of time. It's normal to explore for your self Read Classical Greek authors on the youth of their time and you will find many today that are in agreement with the 2000 year old texts.

Jeez some of you really are offensive. Is there really any need?

You know, you can tell me to f**k off. Call me a wanker. You DON'T have to agree with anything I say, and I can take it on the chin in the spirit of this politically charged topic when you tell me otherwise. But to tell me I hate America, and the rest of whatever I hate...... FFS what are you smoking?

Much of what Russia does as a positive appears to fall on many deaf ears here. Perhaps somewhat understandably so, and perhaps why I state my argument so also. That I am not deaf does not make me a Putin lover. Nor does it make me an American hater. I fear it does make some here somewhat bigoted and self righteous though if they are to judge me so.

I do hope this clarifies my position of friendship and trust here

Cataract, I like the gay-stoned post of yours from 7-30 on the "Truth" thread. Funny.

I think you can probably think of a funnier one, perhaps a comment on shellfish and bacon cheese burgers being like taxes. it might be forbidden, but it's great if you don't care about the law.... ? Hmm. I'll let you work on that. I'm not in the mood to pick on other's religions for no reason.

If there is a reason, however.... I'm willing to speak truth to power.

even, especially when the power is people who have sworn to murder atheists, Christians, Pagans, Jews, and the Useful.

Because we can see that the Jihadi are Happy indeed to slaughter people of their own faith if they don't have the exact same holidays.

Do YOU support the Jihadi currently murdering Christians, because they are Christians? Or the "World Leaders" who support the terrorists that use children as slave labor and human shields, in the name of their God?

I don't notice any complaints about the people who actually murder millions, ( as opposed to Rocket's
millions of gullible fools who refuse to see it happening, or believe it ever did )

While I have my own disputes with the Christians on this board, none of them have threatened to burn any of my friends at the stake ( it has happened in the past, but I sure don't hold Blake responsible for the actions of horny preachers in Salem Mass. )

Nor do I blame Rocket for the genocidal actions of Lord Protector Cromwell and subsequent regimes in the UK. Rocket wasn't alive, and had nothing to do with it.

I don't even blame him for the current actions of Hugh Grant, ( or whoever the PM is today..... Or was Grant just PM in a movie? let me look that up. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .......................................

My bad! Hugh Grant was PM in a very funny movie. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0314331/

Great date flick, & Christmas movie.

anyway, I don't blame Rocket for what's his name either.

Sifo, I consider myself a fair example of my faith. I try very hard to refuse to lie, I defend the weak, and don't proselytize.

I do fall short of perfection, and, unlike some here, admit to possibly being wrong.

Mostly in the small details.... I'm pretty confident on the big things, and the mentally ill guys here who refuse to dialog with respect and honor have done zero to even try and convince me otherwise.

I'm comfortable with my faith, with it's demands on me, and the ideals it represents.

I hope you are as comfortable with your own, and bless anyone, of any faith, that protects the innocent and upholds the rights of others.

What my attitude towards those who exploit children for power, like Hamas, Obama, and the Iranian Mullahs should be obvious.

I do not completely agree with this sarcastic commentary, but I did get an appreciative chuckle out of it... and parts are very true.

Cataract, the current situation in the Ukraine has many shades of grey. Do YOU think Obama is being honest and wise in his actions in Europe? While I normally support any action that would bring the Former Soviet Empire back into the civilized world, I have doubts and disagreements about the means, logic, or intent of the current US regime.

OTOH the former KGB guy in charge of Russia doesn't inspire confidence in his honesty either. Perhaps he has changed from a willing cog in the vast machine to oppress his people, and is now a champion of freedom..... or maybe not.

Russia wanted to shoot down an Aeroflot ( Russian flag airline ) plane to create a pretext for invasion and messed up? Sounds like a stretch to me, but is in keeping with past actions by the Russian masters. I'm doubtful.

But remember that the guy who shot that Archduke and kicked off WW1 wanted freedom for his people, and I don't believe that came close to being true until Bill Clinton bombed his homeland.... a long time later.

Millions died first. Most of them not from the Balkans, and having nothing to do with the oppression of Serbia.

I've never been sure, or should I say certain, what religion actually is. Or at least, what the practicing of religion is.

My position as someone who believes chemistry created everything tells me gods of any persuasion don't exist, except in peoples minds.

As a non believer I find such a position somewhat hypocritical. This is not my fault or the fault of any non believer. It's a position forced upon both believer and nonbeliever. This is the whole 'WHAT'S WRONG WITH RELIGION' thing right here in a nutshell.

Religion is indoctrinated into everyone the moment born, registering a birth being attached to a system rooted in religion. Most any institution which has some regulation, rule, or law over life, all have roots in religion. How can anyone live a life free of religion without existing hypocritically. As an example, and an event which happens to most of us, a person can believe in the institution of marriage, loving the thought of a church wedding, but this is an acceptance of religion (even subconsciously so) when really a person could just like the fairytale of it all, and not be religious at all. Perhaps this happens because religion isn't just indoctrinated into us, but it is also sold to us and we buy into somewhat willingly as well as unwillingly. Do we have a choice?

The street sign above says it better than any religion ever has.

Cataract2, no doubt that God means different things to different people. Duh. What God means to you personally though is something different altogether. You personally have made nothing but Atheistic arguments. If I am to take you to be a person who is being honest with me, you are an Atheist. If you are not an Atheist, then you are simply dishonest. You do however either believe in God(s) (is that better) or not. There is no gray area on that part. Agnostic simply means that you don't care enough to even examine the possibility of God(s) and are comfortable with the idea of whatever becomes of one who turns his back on God(s).

No doubt that many, probably most have a different faith in God from mine. One thing that all of those have in common with me though is a faith that there is a God(s). It may or may not surprise you to find that my personal beliefs allow for quite a variety of beliefs that are not necessarily in conflict with each other. They all do require faith that there is a God(s) though, something that you have consistently argued against. Yet for some strange reason you seem to fear the simple label "Atheist". Why is that?

Blake: like to have sex with other men,

I must ask Blake, anytime a post regarding gays and lesbians comes up you are guaranteed to post in ranting and raving about it. I have to wonder if your underlying issue is deep down you might be hiding something. You do know you can come out of the closet, right? The year is 2014, not 1950. All of this hate you seem to harbor at yourself and then projecting it out is doing you no good. It really is unhealthy. There are support groups out there. Here's a few.

http://www.counselingcenter.illinois.edu/self-help -brochures/lgbt-concerns/coming-out/

http://www.rucomingout.com/

The thing you preach strongly about is normally the issue you deal with. Just observing your patterns.

Just some food for thought.

Sifo - You don't believe in a god. You believe in a religion. There's a big difference.

Imagine a god that is not ethical, moral but is simply a powerful force. It could be anything and to be respected not revered.

I know the difference very well. I reject pretty much reject religion as you are describing it simply because that is largely a construct of man. Again though, you are agreeing with the resident troll who is saying that I don't believe in a God, the implication being that there is no God to believe in. One of us is far more open minded on theology than the other it would seem. You seem to fail to understand who that is though.
