maintenance free belt capable of running 100,000 miles...

Then came the 1125, which put Buell on the map with Japanese bikes.
About that stator.....

I don't know about 100k miles, but the belt on my XBR had 50k on it when I sold it, no problems with that at all....

The stator, another story.

Interesting . . . . my current Ford was built in the new plant in Louisville, Kentucky USA and is the best car I've ever owned.

Ooooops. Those gosh darned facts again.

I've also ridden Buells in 44 states and have never had a belt break . . . . I must be a lucky guy.

Max miles on a belt court? Or were you replacing them? I'm betting it was the later. You just replaced them BEFORE they broke. Did you even own an XB?

I'm well aware of HD guys and their belts. I just don't think the belt system used on the XB's and later 1125R's was designed well enough to ensure longevity of the belt and/or bearings required to support the system. Far to many reports, myself included, in early breakages (no I didn't have a rock go through mine and I handled it like it was made of glass.). Bad design.

What reports? Where? Here, on BadWeb?

What about the many thousands of Buell riders who don't report anything because nothing happened?

On the subject of Ford, while both of mine have some foreign parts, they are definitely built here in the USA. With no subsidies or bailouts from the taxpayers.

Not that it matters, mine took 5+ years to break. Bike kept outdoors, northeast.

Pelosi SUCKS
Reid SUCKS
Holder SUCKS
Hillary SUCKS

Thank god I am going riding soon.

I'm not the one who made the accusation about belts breaking...

I'm not reading all that, I don't really care about it that much.

Let's say there are 10,000 belts out there that "just broke"... of those 10,000 how many had something happen to them that the rider didn't know about, or they just plain lied about to try and pitch a fit on the internet and file a false warranty claim?

Who can really tell? What I do know is the belt on my XBR and my neighbor's XBR and S3T were extremely reliable.

Do I think chains are better? Yes. But Buells didn't come with chains. They came with belts. They worked well.

Let me ask you this, how long do you expect a giant rubber band to last in such a rugged environment?

And another thing, Obama sucks.

Bizarre.

Each belt should pay its fair share.

You didn't build that belt.

If you like your belt, you can keep your belt.

If they bring a belt, we'll bring a chain.

You have to break the belt to find out what's in it.

They know it; this belt is lost.

You're just waging a war on belts.

No one needs a belt with that many teeth.

We need common sense belt control.

Mothers against broken belts.

Why shouldn't chains be allowed to call themselves belts?

No, but you are the one who said "What reports? Where? Here, on BadWeb? " I provided you with the searches. If you are going to be to lazy to not bother looking through what I provided to you, which shows that I was talking about, then I'm not going to bother answering any more questions from you with regards to the subject. As you obviously don't care and only want to argue something. That or you just know that you will lose, since you didn't bother to read up and just want to keep throwing out nonsense questions. Circular really. Like how most BS on badweb gets argued.

Belts require no scheduled maintenance, and I had a customer with over 100,000 miles on the stock belt when I worked at the HD dealership.

That was my point.

The comparison between Aus and US motorcycles has still not been answered.

But, it doesn't matter, this is a sidebar topic on a forum regarding INCOMPOTUS.

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Responding to reports that President Obama is considering signing as many as nineteen executive orders on gun control, Republicans in Congress unleashed a blistering attack on him today, accusing Mr. Obama of “cynically and systematically using his position as President to lead the country.”

Spearheading the offensive was Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Texas), who charged the President with the “wanton exploitation of powers that are legally granted to him under the U.S. Constitution.”

Calling him the “Law Professor-in-Chief,” Rep. Stockman accused Mr. Obama of “manipulating a little-known section of the Constitution,” Article II, which outlines the power of the President.

“President Obama looks down the list of all of the powers that are legally his and he’s like a kid in a candy store,” Rep. Stockman said. “It’s nauseating.”

The Texas congressman said that if Mr. Obama persists in executing the office of the Presidency as defined by the Constitution, he could face “impeachment and/or deportation.”

Noting that the President has not yet signed the executive orders on gun control, Rep. Stockman said that he hoped his stern words would serve as a wake-up call to Mr. Obama: “Mr. President, there’s still time for you to get in line. But if you continue to fulfill the duties of President of the United States that are expressly permitted in the Constitution, you are playing with fire.”

You're smokin' crack ...... Romney, a self-made successful businessman and happy family man .... Has long ago irrevocably said he'd not run again.

I think he's smart and honest .... But he'd not make a good president.

Obama ..... Quickly earning the title "Worst president in the history of the nation".... Is making lots of folks look viable.

Re: Barney....

My ex had the Barney mod for the original Castle Wolfenstein game. You fought Bevis & Butthead with that annoying heh, heh heh, on and on... At the end you fought Barney ( instead of Hitler ) and he yelled "I Love You!" while shooting fireballs at you.

It gets worse. I looked at the Mod disc ( a floppy ) and it had a short novel, "Night Of The Barney". Barney was an alien sent to seduce our children so when the aliens arrive they Love them unconditionally and turn on their parents, and send them to camps...where they get eaten by the Purple Dino/aliens...

And even better! There was a well written essay on how Barney was the perfect Communist Propaganda tools as No Fun could be had by reading alone, all activity had to be an inclusive group think social event.... Kinda brilliant.

and probably true.

So now why in the name of Lucy Lawless ( a lovely, famous and talented Australian actress ) is Obama breaking his Belts?

Yes, I knew it was satire as the republicans are complaining about his executive orders, but also his lack of leadership over immigration.

And either way, congress is stuck doing little useful.

Leaked Data Shows 10-Fold Increase In Obama’s Asylum Approvals

quote:

The number of foreigners who successfully filed asylum claims in the United States almost tripled from 2012 to 2013, up to 30,393.

That’s 10 times the number from 2008, when President Barack Obama was elected, and it is evidence his immigration officials are approving most of the asylum requests from the growing wave of Central American migrants.

If you came illegally to the U.S. seeking asylum in 2013, you had better than a four-in-five chance of successfully filing an asylum claim. That’s up from a three-in-five chance in 2008.

This is the policy of the BO administration. So what does this lead to?

Report: SMALL LIFELESS, DEAD CHILDREN Found “Washed Up Along Riverbank” of Rio Grande

quote:

Winter reports that several dead children have been discovered “washed up along the riverbank” of the Rio Grande, but fails to note that there have been no reports by the Obama administration on this.

"Doin' it for the kids!" These deaths are on BO's hands. Bo really is good at killing people. Even little kids. "When's my tee time?"

10,000 to 30,000.

Starting to get close to Bushes numbers:

...In the years 2005 through 2007, the number of asylum seekers accepted into the U.S. was about 48,000 per year. This compared with about 30,000 per year in the UK and 25,000 in Canada. The U.S. accounted for 15% to 20% of all asylum-seeker acceptances in the OECD countries in recent years.[1]...
