Jim, Could they be lost? Sure. IT is really complicated and systems that make lots of backups but aren't often called upon to restore can be really easy to miss major problems with.

But this one doesn't pass the sniff test, and it really doesn't matter in this case becuase the President has clearly already weaponized the IRS, declared himself above the law, and allowed politics to fundamentally undermine the role of law in both the DOJ and in the misuse of executive powers.

Of course they did it, and of course they are covering it up.

I don't care if a stack of bureaucrats go to jail or not. That won't fix the problem.

My hope is that people of all political persuasions recognize the threat of a large and highly empowered government, and start deconstructing it in an orderly fashion (as opposed to a bloody deconstruction at the ends of a gun barrel). An out of control government can't control its self by definition. It not kept in check, it will eventually kill itself, just at a very high cost to many innocent people.

Reep -

My hope is that people of all political persuasions recognize the threat of a large and highly empowered government...

Right now it's only a threat to US (constitutional conservatives), not to THEM (everyone else), and they couldn't be happier that the FedGov is wildly out of control and drunk on its own power. Some of it is because of all the free stuff they get at yours and my expense, but I think it has more to do with revenge: We are all being paid back for something. Read between the lines of the lib trolls who've posted since the beginning of this thread, and there's an overwhelming undercurrent of anger, about race, station, gender, sexual preferences, SOMETHING. They're pissed at US about who, what and why they are what they are, and BO is their savior. He's paying us back for HIS anger, after all, and the libs are piling on like fleas on a rabid dog.

Folks like you and me see the danger, amigo. The rest of them see nothing but sweet, sweet revenge.

...and start deconstructing it in an orderly fashion.

There are only two ways to "deconstruct" our form of government: The ballot box, and the bullet box.

Sadly, voting in this country is a joke, with ZERO guarantee that your vote was actually tallied correctly. Allen West's loss of his congressional seat, and BO's election as president (the second time) are two recent examples of high-profile vote fraud. Are these the only two examples the last time around? Doubtful.

So, if the ballot box can't be trusted (and it can't), and if, as you alluded to earlier, the press won't (or can't, due to fear) do it's job, what other deconstruct mechanism is there?

I'm only aware of one, and the Founders refer to it prominently in their writings. Geniuses, they were, and they knew full well that in spite of the Constitution and Bill of Rights, the day would come when tyrants would again rule.

They tasked us, should that day come, with righting the proverbial ship. That day is almost here/here/was here YEARS ago, depending on how constitutionally militant one feels, I suppose.

It's no surprise that firearm and ammo sales have been through the roof since BO's second inauguration. Plenty of honest, hard-working, red-blooded Americans see him for EXACTLY who he is: An angry, hateful, petty, narcissistic, power-drunk, revenge-filled tyrant who will say and do ANYTHING to get his way (and, more importantly, get the way of the bitches and bastards who are actually pulling his strings).

Is there another way to deconstruct the rampant corruption in our government besides the ballot box or the bullet box? If so, I'm all ears - I have no faith in the ballot box anymore.

Interesting. BO is claiming that he has authorization to go into Iraq at this point based on the Congressional permission granted to Bush back in 2001 and 2003. I guess, according to the BO supporters around here, that he must be going into Iraq in search of WMDs. Think we'll find WMDs this time?

In all seriousness, how does that authorization of force apply after the pResident has declared that conflict to be over? Is this an open ended authorization of force that is good forever? Perhaps one of the BO apologists can explain how this is all OK.

UAC Unaccompanied Alien Children.

A 17 year old is NOT a child. A minor by silly US law, yes.

This is already a major health crisis, and has the potential for far worse.

As this Regime invites people in publicly, by offering to feed, shelter, care for and provide lawyers...... they are not Illegal Aliens anymore.

They are the army of crime, of exploitation, of destruction of America.

In America it's 1916. For the rest of the planet it looks like 1914.

Obscure history.... No longer taught in Public schools.

Forbidden knowledge.

1917 is coming.

Remember, these are the people whose political action branch, ACORN, well known for voter fraud, didn't blink an eye at helping sex slavers arrange to profit from the repeated rape of children.

Glad to help.

Obama's crusade for perpetual power rests on the bodies of raped children.

Not hypothetical.

Now, today. As we live our "normal lives", little girls and boys are being raped & killed fulfilling Obama's dream.

Seriously?

It should be nearly IMPOSSIBLE to lose emails.

They are in residence on multiple servers and backed up at remote sites, BY LAW.

The IRS spends Billions of dollars to back up it's stuff.

If it's gone, and it took months to tell us it's gone, it took months to systematically erase those files in multiple machines.

Well Reep,
Your reply was about what I expected, in that "they" were working on govt stuff I would have presumed that extensive testing was carried out............

I believe that the deletion was deliberate, and that jail time for many who were in charge and doing the work is in order.

It will be impossible to prove some things, My next thought is its flat tax // sales tax time. reduce the IRS to about 1/4 its size OR close it completely
effectively rendering it useless for political purposes.

my contempt and disgust for obama and his minions has reached new heights,

I am just left shaking my head, heart sick that things have come to this, I am also dreading many likely outcomes, we need a republican / conservative majority in both house and senate,

obama must be removed and the people who have broken the law and the peoples trust must be punished to the most severest extent of the law.....

the constitution IS the law of the land, and it needs to be put back into force..

Oldog,
I admit to some pessimism on most of your proposals.

Not disagreement in principal, Flat tax sounds fine, as long as I get my tax credits/breaks for say, Mortgage Interest.

The trouble is, if you don't have a mortgage, why should you want ME to get a break and not you?

We've had well over 2 centuries of people asking for a loophole, or a punishment for their competition, or a special benefit for their special interest group.

The result is a tax code so complex it may be impossible to be in compliance. You sure don't get the same answer from the government experts on a question, and the law is so contradictory, that if they give you bad advice about their understanding of the law, and they are wrong, they fine YOU.

The thing is, the lobby for your interest thing is NOT inherently evil.

Think about what your typical politician would do with some guidance from people with a clue. ( because HIS specialty is fooling people into believing in him )

For example, I supported a Space Program, back when we had one. My enthusiasm waned a bit when Need Another Seven Astronauts had become a jobs program not allowed to actually do the job their charter called for, and was crippled by Congress's insistence that the laws of Physics counted less than yearly budget constraints.

It was unwise, we were told, to spend 10 billion dollars a year for 3 years to build a space truck that cost 10 million dollars to launch. So we spent 8 billion dollars a year for 10 years to build a space truck that cost 100 million dollars a launch.

That saved money! right?

Anyway, to change the tax code to be fair to most, without special favors for those who bribe the politicians, is insanely unlikely. Meddling with the tax code is the Prime Directive of politicians, and the source of most of their income from bribes.

Then there is The Iron Law Of Bureaucracy. ( look it up )

And the natural growth of any Bureaucracy, we've been stuck with that from before Babylon.

So, to fix the problems properly, we'd have to murder ( which, despite Obama's view on the subject, is immoral, sorry ) Congress, the Executive Branch, most of the rest of the Federal Bureaucracy, and the entire DHS.

Not going to happen. I'm not going to help, and YOU can't afford enough bullets. Not after Obama bought them all.

I'm also reluctant to call for saturation nuclear strikes on all centers of government, even though it would solve a lot of problems. Honestly, I don't trust Russian, or Chinese targeting to actually hit close enough to the cities.

Ok Patric I will bite,

I want to see the IRS de-weaponized

My end of year interest deduction for my home netted me a whopping 300$ on my return,
and saved me some on the pay out to the fed,

If we each payed say 5% of our incomes as tax,
The rest came from local state federal sales taxes no loop holes, You spend a $1.00 and pay 5% tax on that, Every one who spends a dollar pays the tax.

Is it safe to say that this is about as equitable as it gets, buy more pay more,
no charities, no loop holes,

Politicos who take bribes are not fit to serve. [and should be removed never to serve again after some serious punishment]

Those who bribe them are criminals and should be punished too, its EZ.

As far as promoting a cause to a rep or senator as long and no money or "favors" cloud the issue no problem.

Blivit corp making a 10 mil donation to the goobernator party's candidate is questionable

is the newly elected person going to see issues on power from Blivit reactors objectively? how can they?

not a big fan of all of this loose money that flies
around, Like Hairy Reid 32k FOR JEWELERY?
there is waaaaay too much money, its too tempting to do the wrong thing for the wrong reason.

The latest insult to my intelligence was the news piece that said that Charley Wrangle, in comments equated Tea Party to Jihadi

Really??

can't say I have ever be-headed any one....

get the big money out, remove the tools like the IRS, graft, tax dodges and loopholes, make punishment for voter fraud or campaign finance violations stiff same for corruption.

The status quot has got to go........

With today's technology, we have the unprecedented opportunity for the federal government to run as intended. A virtual House will allow our Representatives to be closer to the people with the added benefit of being further away from Lobbyists.

How is this possible?

The 435 member House of Representatives is supposed to be close to the people that they serve. This was lost as America grew bigger and centralization required the sitting body to be in Washington DC. Virtual meeting places are the norm in today's businesses. At Broadcom, we can run real time meetings with members in Bangalore, Beijing, San Jose, and San Diego. Information is easily shared. Video conferencing allows you to see the person and communicate with facial expressions rather than simply the spoken word.

So it could go with the United States House of Representatives. Congress can be in session remotely for say, fifty weeks out of the year. It empowers so-called ordinary people to run for Congress without having to maintain an expensive residence in Washington DC. Representatives are more accessible if they live and work close to their constituency.

Currently, lobbyists only have to set up shop in Washington DC to buy favors. Now they would have to travel to 435 locations to buy influence.

F2F (face to face) meetings could be held in Washington DC for one or two weeks a year and the Representative would be paid a per diem for their troubles.

“Transparency and the rule of law will be the touchstones of this presidency.”

President Barack Obama, January 31, 2009

“Today, I can announce that our review is complete, and that the United States will pursue a new strategy to end the war in Iraq through a transition to full Iraqi responsibility.

This strategy is grounded in a clear and achievable goal shared by the Iraqi people and the American people: an Iraq that is sovereign, stable, and self-reliant.

[W]e will work to promote an Iraqi government that is just, representative, and accountable, and that provides neither support nor safe haven to terrorists.”

“We are leaving behind a sovereign, stable, and self-reliant Iraq.

Barrack Obama
December 14, 2011
Fort Bragg, North Carolina

This next is Not exact quotes... But I think it gets the gist.

"I won't send troops to Iraq....I'm sending troops to Iraq to protect the Embassy....I'm going to go play golf and do a fundraiser, and then I'll have someone tell me what I did."

Romney / Ryan would have been an excellent team, too bad that they lost a rather "irregular election",

This is one of many pointed conversation that Mr Ryan has had with various people,
The IRS targeting hearings were another event with similar with Democraps on the receiving end.
He seems to be a man of integrity like Gomert from Texas, Gowdy from SC, and West from FL
