I think people like Dick Cheney have their own private interests in trying to control the world, lets but out of their business since it is their country.

Why don't we leave well enough alone. let the arabs handle the mess in their back yard. We can't police the world. Iraq has cost us too much already and we can't stop sticking our nose in this civil war. Too many lives (American) have been lost and casualties are numerous. It's a lost cause.

Well said. Why are we spending a fortune and our young men's lives to police an area that can't stop killing their own people?

lol.... funny stuff man... dam dude... “I think we went into Iraq for very good reasons. I think when we left office, we had a situation in Iraq that was very positive… What happened was that Barack Obama came to office, and instead of negotiating a stay behind agreement, he basically walked away from it.”

All True.

Instead of walking away Obama should have kept it up... but he caved and threw it all away. Obama left Iraq leaving the door wide the freak open for disaster.

The only thing I didn't predict/fear about the current events in Iraq was the name of the army and that it would be supported with weapons given by Obama.

I did bitch about Obama giving weapons to AQ in Syria after the NYT reported Benghazi was a gun running operation.

The Bush administration left a relatively stable Iraq and Afghan front in the war on dar el harb. They screwed up by allowing religious freedom to be subverted in the governments in both.

Obama did the Democrat Party action of Vietnam.
Deliberately let an ally be invaded and destroyed.

Watch him let them die in Ukraine.

Like in Egypt. Syria. Libya. Mexico. United States.

The democrat controlled congress cut off the money. Presidents can't sign bills that don't hit their desks. And the executive branch had not yet mastered the 'rule by executive order and federal agency regulation' trick that obama has mastered.

At the time Nixon was not in a position of power, despite getting us out of Vietnam.

Watersomething? You remember? I do.

D controlled Congress. Wasn't giving Tricky Dick an inch.

Let them die by the millions.

I am inconsolable watching it happen again.

Yet I expect no less from this regime.

Vietnam ruled by murderers. There. Fixed that for you.

If the Soviets hadn't sponsored the "peace movement" and supplied weapons to their Comrades in the North Vietnam would be ruled by Vietnamese.

Blame the French.

>>> The outcome was inevitable.

Not according to the communist leaders themselves. According to them, we gifted them the country on two counts, ceasing all out war against them, and then again later by completely abandoning our allies in S. Vietnam. But according to you, Vietnamese fighting against totalitarianism/communism don't count as people of Vietnam.

I know victims of our withdrawal who were fortunate enough to make it to America. They say that they'll never vote for a Democrat. The memories of their murdered family and friends remains far too strong.

Despise America for abandoning allies and I'm right there with you. It is sickening, literally physically sickening.

But don't delude yourself into thinking that a world absent America would be a better, safer, less dangerous, more free place.

You'd rather have us withdraw everywhere with the vacuum filled by the USSR or China or the Islamist-fascists?

http://www.nytimes.com/2001/09/11/books/no-regrets -for-love-explosives-memoir-sorts-war-protester-ta lks-life-with.html

Obama's political career started in this man's living room. Barry denied the relationship, just a neighbor... Ayers babysat Obama's children, Obama serves with him on a board giving away other people's money, and Obama idealized the Revolutionary Anarcho-Communist Murderer.

Now he has written a book, ''Fugitive Days'' (Beacon Press, September). Mr. Ayers, who is 56, calls it a memoir, somewhat coyly perhaps, since he also says some of it is fiction. He writes that he participated in the bombings of New York City Police Headquarters in 1970, of the Capitol building in 1971, the Pentagon in 1972. But Mr. Ayers also seems to want to have it both ways, taking responsibility for daring acts in his youth, then deflecting it.

''Is this, then, the truth?,'' he writes. ''Not exactly. Although it feels entirely honest to me.''

But why would someone want to read a memoir parts of which are admittedly not true? Mr. Ayers was asked.

''Obviously, the point is it's a reflection on memory,'' he answered. ''It's true as I remember it.''

When your life is based on lies, having deliberate problems remembering the truth is common. Right FF?

Hey, when your only regret in life is you didn't kill enough pigs, ( that's a quote ) honesty is optional, I suppose.

There seem to be a bunch of conservatives that are against foreign intervention or haven't you been keeping up with current events.

John Quincy Adams on American Policy:

Whenever the standard of freedom and Independence has been or shall be unfurled, there will her heart, her benedictions and her prayers be. But she goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She the champion and vindicator only of her own.

She well knows that by once enlisting under other banners than her own, were they even the banners of foreign independence, she would involve herself beyond the power of extrication, in all the wars of interest and intrigue, of individual avarice, envy, and ambition, which assume the colors and usurp the standard of freedom.

Fourth of July, 1821

More of that obscure history stuff you don't get.

What do you think they took? "Oil from Canada, gold from Mexico, geese from the neighbor's backyard - boom boom. Corn from the Indians, tobacco from the Indians, Dakota from the Indians, New Jersey from the Indians, New Hampshire from the Indians, New England from the Indians, New Delhi from the Indians" - Indonesia for the Indonesians! Ah Yes, Veteran's Day.

Every movement has it's extreme elements. To claim the Weathermen led the peace movement is the same as saying the Aryan Nation is leading the anti-immigration movement or is it?
