Yes, I often hear of American imperialism, but I've yet to see any new territory added. You know, unless the population petitions for statehood. Perhaps the shouters of "Imperialist!" don't know what imperialism means.

Neat. A rant completely devoid of facts. Quite an accomplishment.

Quite a few facts actually, so not devoid of at all. Yes, quite an accomplishment.

Perhaps the shouters of "Imperialist!" don't know what imperialism means.

It sounds like you're not quite familiar with the meaning either.

It doesn't have to include or mean "new territory added".

What it does mean is to exert power and influence upon another, which can refer to territory without owning it. Something the U.S. is not just very good at but also known for.

Use of commas would help comprehension of your meaning.

Funny claiming that the US is very good at imposing it's imperialism, using the current situation in the middle east as the example. We don't have squat going our way in that region right now. What exactly, is very good about that?

Punctuation is Important.

Let's eat Grandma.

Let's eat, Grandma.

America is not good at Imperialism, and many, like Jerry Pournelle, warned against the occupation of Iraq and other moves by the Bush Admin. Also many moves by the Obama regime.

Thus the somewhat sarcastic urge by many here to just let Europe burn, again.

Like every time the US goes isolationist in the 20th century.

Just face it folk, those Europeans, the murderous thugs, genocidal maniacs, and would be Absolute Kings that led most of our ancestors to come here, just don't get along.

We lived though a Golden Age. Probably the longest period in the last 1000 years without major war between the western European powers, bought at the price of American wealth, American might. A Golden age for Western Europe, with the wealth that would have been spent on Armies and war, spent on Social Programs.

Eastern Europe, after being conquered by the Soviets, lived though a Dark Age, with crushing poverty, boots on the neck forever rule, and pollution scary even by English 19th century standards.

The Soviets killed a Sea. ( And murdered a few hundred million people )

Do not confuse America with the parasite that has taken power here.

We are either going into a dark age, or on the brink of a New Republic.

Vote for the guy not in office. It's the only way short of violence to solve this.

Like I said. America was very good imposing its imperialism there. Do you want me to spell it out? You know, toppling a ruthless dictator. Disbanding a brutal army. Preventing a nuclear war*. Preventing a chemical war*. Etc etc etc. So good in fact, they had two bites of the cherry in twenty years.

Left the place in a right f**king mess though. Both times.

Would you ever consider that people change. Nations change. Or are Russia always going to be considered America's evil nemesis?

There's blame right there in just such a belief.

When Regan's work crashed the Soviet Union, we, ( Europe, America ) failed to help Russia become a proper partner in peace, an ally that would stabilize the world. Mea culpa, and plenty to go around. ( Not that I had much influence )

Instead Russia decided to continue to support dictators, use Islamist Jihadi to weaken the West, and supply arms and technology to the enemies of Freedom.

The vast majority of American AND British troops, killed since WW2 were killed with Russian, Chinese, or Warsaw Pact built arms.

The AK-47 is the symbol of rebellion, followed every time by a dictatorship worse than the one displaced.

Will Russia always be America's evil nemesis? No. It certainly doesn't have to be that way.

In fact, in ( ironically ) Jerry Pournelle's CoDominium series, as the US slides towards Socialist Authoritarianism, and the Soviets slide towards Capitalism, we meet in a ( bad ) middle ground and establish a world government. Far from a Utopia, it's a world of hereditary aristocracy, Senators for Life, and suppression of technology to preserve the status quo, where the CoDominium, propped up by a monopoly on nuclear weapons, rewrites history and neuters education to prevent original and new technology that could upset the powers that be.

You know, like the Climate Cult MUST suppress science to keep it's power.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CoDominium

I've long thought that Russia and America are in many ways far more alike than America and Belgium. The failure of several Administrations to comprehend What exactly "Russia" is, and deal with it as equals, combined with the eternal European fear of, and contempt for the barbarians of the steppes, has led us to today.

Where Russian built tanks and missile once again kill, and in the case of Ukraine, are used by all the different sides of this invasion.

It's becoming clear that it's not just Nato vs. Russia, but a multi way clash over the different resources and populations.

The only thing lacking is the imposition of our desires. Well beyond the immediate desire that he not be a threat to other nations of the region. Of course, that was the desire of the nations of the UN when the first war was fought in Iraq, you know, the one where the world left the US to enforce the will of the world on Saddam. One might just interpret that as the US protecting other nations interests, but you don't believe that ever happens. You don't like the way it all turned out? Perhaps next time all y'all will stay around to help out with the hard part. I have my doubts though. I'm kind of hoping that the next time the US gives the UN the big FU when they are looking for someone to do the dirty work. Again, I have my doubts.

So they have a best seller is all. One could argue the U.S. built better fighter planes or rocket launchers or just better bullets. I've no idea what weapon of choice, but I'd wager America has just as much weaponry sold around the world no matter the hands it falls into. As for the AK, and those many millions built in China, a country America is happy to kiss the arse of right now! This despite its continuous appalling human rights record. So let's drop the suggestion America doesn't sell for profit its military hardware which only falls into the hands of the good guys. I'm pretty sure there's a lot of American made guns that will kill many innocent American's today and tomorrow and the day after in American towns and cities. These guns in the hands of those who shouldn't have them. Should S&W, Colt, or the other 100 or so U.S. gun makers be held responsible, or the government of the American people?

Misleading. You're suggesting Russia has armed who you consider shouldn't be. The reality is Russia will obviously arm its own nation, or a once Russian nation, as its ally. That weapons fall into the hands of all and anyone doesn't mean Russia supplied them to all and anyone. Who is to say who armed anybody?

America is happy to kiss the arse of right now!

That this Regime is happy to kiss. Obama greatly admires the power the Chinese dictators have to murder their own. Now he's copied them.

I can tell the difference between the actions of your Prime Minister and England.

It may take a little more time to type your opinion, but there is a difference between a nation and it's illegal leaders. I'll try and be more precise as well. The Soviet Leaders are personally responsible for all those deaths. The New Russian ones are responsible for theirs.

No on should think the average guy in the street of Moscow or Kiev is responsible. ( except he may have voted for an evil guy, and more and more those votes may have been counted.... or just made up )

You pretty obviously are willing to forgive millions murdered by the Soviet leaders, and the thousands by the New Russian ones.

That weapons fall into the hands of all and anyone doesn't mean Russia supplied them to all and anyone. Who is to say who armed anybody?

That's easy. The Soviets gave/sold arms to the enemies of freedom, worldwide. Do they kill civilians by preference? Russian weapons. Do they want to be dictators? Russian weapons. ( sometimes built in another Warsaw Pact country, like Ukraine or Czechoslovakia, or a Chinese copy )

Not misleading at all. Russian guns = bad guys. It's simplistic, but usually true.

Since it looks like all the faction in Ukraine use the same weapons......

The people shooting down airplanes probably are not the good guys. Unless the airplanes are strafing and/or bombing civilians.

Should S&W, Colt, or the other 100 or so U.S. gun makers be held responsible, or the government of the American people?

No. The people who kill are responsible. If the government let the killer out of jail after he's been convicted multiple time of multiple violent crimes.... then the government is guilty too.

So if a Russian soldier or mercenary kills civilians under orders from the Kremlin, do we blame the Tula works? Or Vladimir?

Your reasoning lacks intellectual vigor.... aka highly repeated propaganda.
