"Again, my point was that the bond between the parents must be strong and they must have each others best interest in mind when making decisions about kids."
I'd agree with that in that I believe that is the ideal. Not always the case though, unfortunately.
"my primarily goal, as a parent, was to become increasingly disposable to my children culminating about about age 18"
I like this statement. Kids will grow, move out and begin their own families. If all goes well, the person I fell in love with to create those kids will be here long after that happens.
"I know, and appreciate, what you are saying. You are just wording it very poorly."
Yes, I am not communicating the thought well. Frank Zappa said it best: "The computer can't tell you the emotional story. It can give you the exact mathematical design, but what's missing is the eyebrows."
Airbozo, You are welcome here. Did you get the 2000 S3 or is that old news?
I understand your distrust of all politicians as that is a healthy viewpoint. I even understand a lot of the vitriol that was hurled at Bush the W. That said, all presidents are not the same. Bush the W did harm to the US Constitution but Obama has taken it to an entirely new level. Obama's successor(s) are likely to raise despotism even higher if the Executive Branch's mandated Constitutional powers continue to be ignored.
Yes I did get the S3T. Have not been happier with a motorcycle in my life (even though I have had some issues like the primary tensioner self destructing and taking other parts with it). Sad it took me so long to get one as I had my eye on them when I bought my 95 sportster (which I still have). I now routinely peruse the classified sections and CL for my next one. Hopefully I can find just the right Firebolt. I'm officially a Buell addict.
Yes, it seems each politician/party builds on the last ones bravado and takes the abuse of powers to a new level. If the terms were reversed I am sure Bush would have done similar to what Obama and his ilk are now doing. What I've been struggling to figure out is what can anyone (of us peons anyway) do about it at this point. The supreme court does not want to listen, and if you can make it to that level, then no one will talk about it because of national security (been standing directly in those shoes many years ago). The stuff that Snowden is leaking is one example. Many of my fellow Sailors brought up similar issues to our Chiefs, Captains and even Admirals and were told to mind our own business and never talk about it again or we would lose much more than our freedom. Several of us did continue to talk about it and we were labeled conspiracy theorists. Life moved on. 35 years later, everything I tried to warn my superiors about is now being proven by Snowden. Only now it is much much worse. Snowden even missed some things (or not since more is being released)
I am torn on this because the very fiber of my patriotic self wants him punished as a traitor, but the vindictive part of me wants heads to roll over it. Lots of heads.
Bush and his cronies should be charged with war crimes and violations of the constitution and Obama and his peeps should have the same thing done to them. Pass laws concerning term limits (no more career politicians), wipe out the entire lobbyist sector (no one person should have greater access to presidents or rep no matter how much money you have) and pass some campaign finance laws for crying out loud.
Right now I don't care what party gets in office during these or the next elections (yes it may come around to bite me in the ass), just get rid of ALL incumbents. Send a message that the citizens of this country are fed up.
Whew! Sorry, it's been a rant kind of day (part of why my communication skills are so poor).
My primary goal is to get out of here without contributing to shiat that is the mess of the stench of the stink of the sewage that has flooded the toilet. ie D.C.
Not having kids Not ever This family tree dies with me - no more sheep or fodder from this line; pizz off World Conglomerate Sausage grinder. Pizz the hell off.
Yeah. the ratchet effect. Take a little and never give it back. The 1st Rule of Acquisition.
I opposed the creation of the Dept. of Fatherland Security. It's becoming a force like Hoover wanted his FBI. The American KGB.

Not sure how I can agree with you more on this. The anger & mixed feelings. ditto.
just get rid of ALL incumbents. Send a message that the citizens of this country are fed up.
Agreed, let's say there are 3-6 good ones in the Senate that are worth supporting, perhaps a few dozen in the House. Still, vote them ALL out and start fresh is a positive move.
Damned hard though. It's going to take more than votes for the Career Pols to leave, because they will not ever vote for term limits or give up their cushy positions of petty Mastery.
I was hoping not to live long enough to see the American Experiment in Freedom fall and the people up against the wall getting shot.
My hopes have been dashed before.
Iraq. I would not have handled the occupation the way it was. I would certainly not have allowed a theocratic Constitution in Iraq or Afghanistan. I would never tell the enemy when I'm leaving, and I'd have been long gone by now. ( Iran would also be a very different place. The W regime failed at stopping them from killing us, and the O regime has given even more support to the murderous cultists. )
However, "bush...war crimes...." is a cop out.
If you have a particular, fine, let's hear it, and not one of those conspiracy theory jobs involving Chemtrails, WTC demolition charges, or the Illuminati.
I can point out a few, I don't think the Geneva Convention covers drone strikes on terrorists, but it does have a thing or 2 to say about blowing up civilians in the process.
A lack of clear direction has hampered us in the War against the Dar el Harb. Bush screwed up by not making the distinction clear between terrorist and freedom fighter. Almost as important the distinction between Islam and Jihad.
THIS regime has tried to erase all official reference to the nature of the enemy in the War on Dar el Harb. I believe that very phrase would get me a reprimand if I put it in an official report in the FBI or DOD.
So... yeah, the last guy sucked. The current guy has seized the power to murder you at whim.
Gee. . . my favorite neighborhood organizer tells me everything is fine . . . our mission is accomplished and the good people are ready to handle their own security and govern themselves . . . . . .
Oooops.
The mantra of this administration.
Looks like a nice, peaceful, secure place . . . thanks Mr pResident for putting that billboard up announcing our departure . . .that'll sure scare the bad guys away.
quote:
Three planeloads of Americans were being evacuated from a major Iraqi air base in Sunni territory north of Baghdad, U.S. officials said Thursday, and Germany urged its citizens to immediately leave parts of Iraq, including Baghdad.
President Barack Obama said Iraq will need more help from the United States, but he did not specify what it would be willing to provide. Senior U.S. officials who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter by name said Washington is considering whether to conduct drone missions in Iraq.
The U.N. Security Council met on the crisis, underscoring the growing international alarm over the stunning advances by the Islamic State.
Can anyone substantiate that information about the law licenses.
Sounds bogus.
I was wondering if someone would call me on that. No, I can not substantiate why they no longer have their law licenses. I have searched for real information on why, and can not find any reliable sources. A law license is not something that is given up lightly though. It is something that we really should have known about, long before the election in 2008.
So, I'm open to theories as to WHY. What I do KNOW is that it wasn't simply because after achieving the pResidency, they no longer felt any need for such a trivial thing. The both lost their licenses long before that. Most Presidents tend to keep their licenses active long after they are out of office. It just isn't something you give up so easily.
He is . . and I'd have to check this again . . the only "Editor of the Harvard Law Review" to never have reviewed a law.
He's spent his entire career playing the "you have to let me in and you have to pass me" game . . .kudos to him.
I'm looking forward to the day that his Columbia transcript becomes public. I **think** (and have absolutely nothing to prove it) that he likely flunked out or was "passed out" to get him out of their hair.
My only basis for this are his words in his book and in David Maraniss's book.
Odd also . . . that we can't seem to locate a SINGLE classmate who remembers him being at Columbia.
There's still some strangeness in the law licenses thing. Certainly it wasn't hardship over the couple hundred bucks in fees. Looking at a link from FactCheck.org, they can even waive those fees in hardship cases.
The continuing education requirement sounds likely. That continuing education requirement went into effect in 2005. http://www.isba.org/cle/mcle According to FactCheck.org BO went on inactive status in 1994. "Obama’s motion seeking a transfer to inactive status was filed on June 8, 1994. And the court granted the request the following month, Grogan said." Smart man to see that coming 11 years in advance.
As far as there being no record of proceedings against BO, isn't that largely the point of voluntary acceptance of punishment?
Honestly, I don't know the truth. I'm not really convinced that FactCheck.org came forward with the full truth. I really don't know. That's the crux of the issue on so much of what BO is.

I concur.
His entire life seems to be akin to picking up a mackerel with oiled hands.
Plenty of bad news. Another Billion+$ to care for Undocumented Democrat Voters, and 50,000 ( more or less.... like perhaps 3 times that many ) new wards of the State.
In one of those rare moments in history I agree with a Republican. Barack and Crew invited them in, and lied to us about it... and will lie to us about it more.
Any idea how hard it is to actually delete an email so that it's gone forever? It's hard. Copies and backups are everywhere. To "lose" two years worth is pretty much inconceivable.
This does beg the question though, why are we just now finding this out. After all the investigations that have gone on regarding this, we were told that EVERYTHING was turned over already.
If the rule of law doesn't hold, the solutions will come at the end of a gun barrel, where the guilty and innocent alike will die. Which is why it is SO important to uphold the rule of law.
Unbelievable. If the media doesn't hold tyrants accountable, the blood of the people will be on their hands.
We should hear *nothing* from the media until these and related executive branch crimes are prosecuted.
It's funny do do a search on this bit of news and find that it's being pretty much universally ignored by the MSM. Honestly, unless we are discussing emails on her personal account (that would be another scandal about violation of the law) then it's just not conceivable that her emails are lost from an organization like the IRS. It's just not the least bit believable to me as someone who worked for 25 years in IT. Total pure BS.
I guess we will now have to have congressional hearings on how this could possibly happen, so that we can find out that we were just being stonewalled on all of the previous congressional hearings on the actual illegal targeting of right wing political speech. Even BO's scandals have scandals. That seems hard to do so consistently.
I used to think that it was hyperbole when Obama critics claimed that Obama hated America and was doing everything in his power to diminish our great nation. I no longer am sure.
ISIS Terror Leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi Was Released By Obama from Camp Bucca in 2009 Posted by Jim Hoft on Thursday, June 12, 2014.
Abu Bakr al Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), has transformed a few terror cells on the verge of extinction into the most dangerous militant group in the world.
Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi or Abu Dua was once held by the US in Camp Bucca Iraq.
Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Texas) asked the National Security Agency on Friday to turn over all the metadata it has collected on the email accounts of former IRS official Lois Lerner from January 2009 to April 2011. ... “I have asked NSA Director Rogers to send me all metadata his agency has collected on Lois Lerner’s email accounts for the period which the House sought records,” Stockman said in a press release. “The metadata will establish who Lerner contacted and when, which helps investigators determine the extent of illegal activity by the IRS.”
“The claim incriminating communications were erased by a glitch conjures memories of Rose Mary Woods,” the congressman added. “Barack Obama has brought us Jimmy Carter’s economy and Richard Nixon’s excuses.”
Congress requested all emails sent from Lerner to and from other IRS employees from early 2009 to April 2011. After promising to turn them over, the IRS said Friday it can’t find any of those emails. ...
If, in an audit by the IRS, I'm asked for my records, I will simply tell them that I lost them, but not to worry as I emailed copies of them to Lois Lerner. Hey, if it works for her . . . .
