Airbozo, You are welcome here. Did you get the 2000 S3 or is that old news? I understand your distrust of all politicians as that is a healthy viewpoint. I even understand a lot of the vitriol that was hurled at Bush the W. That said, all presidents are not the same. Bush the W did harm to the US Constitution but Obama has taken it to an entirely new level. Obama's successor(s) are likely to raise despotism even higher if the Executive Branch's mandated Constitutional powers continue to be ignored. | ||

Yes I did get the S3T. Have not been happier with a motorcycle in my life (even though I have had some issues like the primary tensioner self destructing and taking other parts with it). Sad it took me so long to get one as I had my eye on them when I bought my 95 sportster (which I still have). I now routinely peruse the classified sections and CL for my next one. Hopefully I can find just the right Firebolt. I'm officially a Buell addict. Yes, it seems each politician/party builds on the last ones bravado and takes the abuse of powers to a new level. If the terms were reversed I am sure Bush would have done similar to what Obama and his ilk are now doing. What I've been struggling to figure out is what can anyone (of us peons anyway) do about it at this point. The supreme court does not want to listen, and if you can make it to that level, then no one will talk about it because of national security (been standing directly in those shoes many years ago). The stuff that Snowden is leaking is one example. Many of my fellow Sailors brought up similar issues to our Chiefs, Captains and even Admirals and were told to mind our own business and never talk about it again or we would lose much more than our freedom. Several of us did continue to talk about it and we were labeled conspiracy theorists. Life moved on. 35 years later, everything I tried to warn my superiors about is now being proven by Snowden. Only now it is much much worse. Snowden even missed some things (or not since more is being released) I am torn on this because the very fiber of my patriotic self wants him punished as a traitor, but the vindictive part of me wants heads to roll over it. Lots of heads. Bush and his cronies should be charged with war crimes and violations of the constitution and Obama and his peeps should have the same thing done to them. Pass laws concerning term limits (no more career politicians), wipe out the entire lobbyist sector (no one person should have greater access to presidents or rep no matter how much money you have) and pass some campaign finance laws for crying out loud. Right now I don't care what party gets in office during these or the next elections (yes it may come around to bite me in the ass), just get rid of ALL incumbents. Send a message that the citizens of this country are fed up. Whew! Sorry, it's been a rant kind of day (part of why my communication skills are so poor). I would not have handled the occupation the way it was. I would certainly not have allowed a theocratic Constitution in Iraq or Afghanistan. I would never tell the enemy when I'm leaving, and I'd have been long gone by now. ( Iran would also be a very different place. The W regime failed at stopping them from killing us, and the O regime has given even more support to the murderous cultists. ) However, "bush...war crimes...." is a cop out. If you have a particular, fine, let's hear it, and not one of those conspiracy theory jobs involving Chemtrails, WTC demolition charges, or the Illuminati. I can point out a few, I don't think the Geneva Convention covers drone strikes on terrorists, but it does have a thing or 2 to say about blowing up civilians in the process. A lack of clear direction has hampered us in the War against the Dar el Harb. Bush screwed up by not making the distinction clear between terrorist and freedom fighter. Almost as important the distinction between Islam and Jihad. THIS regime has tried to erase all official reference to the nature of the enemy in the War on Dar el Harb. I believe that very phrase would get me a reprimand if I put it in an official report in the FBI or DOD. So... yeah, the last guy sucked. The current guy has seized the power to murder you at whim. There is a tiny difference. | ||

I have searched for real information on why, and can not find any reliable sources. A law license is not something that is given up lightly though. It is something that we really should have known about, long before the election in 2008. What is very easy to substantiate is the fact that they both gave up their law licenses. https://www.iardc.org/lawyersearch.asp  So, I'm open to theories as to WHY. What I do KNOW is that it wasn't simply because after achieving the pResidency, they no longer felt any need for such a trivial thing. The both lost their licenses long before that. I **think** (and have absolutely nothing to prove it) that he likely flunked out or was "passed out" to get him out of their hair. There's still some strangeness in the law licenses thing. Certainly it wasn't hardship over the couple hundred bucks in fees. Looking at a link from FactCheck.org, they can even waive those fees in hardship cases. The continuing education requirement sounds likely. That continuing education requirement went into effect in 2005. http://www.isba.org/cle/mcle According to FactCheck.org BO went on inactive status in 1994. "Obama’s motion seeking a transfer to inactive status was filed on June 8, 1994. And the court granted the request the following month, Grogan said." Smart man to see that coming 11 years in advance. As far as there being no record of proceedings against BO, isn't that largely the point of voluntary acceptance of punishment? Honestly, I don't know the truth. I'm not really convinced that FactCheck.org came forward with the full truth. I really don't know. That's the crux of the issue on so much of what BO is. | ||

Agreed, it's as unfair and self dishonest to dislike Obama for a lie told about him as it is any other person. ( Bush WTC planned... etc. ) You have to be self honest. IRS Has 'Lost' Two Years of Lois Lerner's Emails Any idea how hard it is to actually delete an email so that it's gone forever? It's hard. Copies and backups are everywhere. To "lose" two years worth is pretty much inconceivable. This does beg the question though, why are we just now finding this out. After all the investigations that have gone on regarding this, we were told that EVERYTHING was turned over already. So what is one to believe???  Or not believe??? | ||

It's funny do do a search on this bit of news and find that it's being pretty much universally ignored by the MSM. Honestly, unless we are discussing emails on her personal account (that would be another scandal about violation of the law) then it's just not conceivable that her emails are lost from an organization like the IRS. It's just not the least bit believable to me as someone who worked for 25 years in IT. Total pure BS. I guess we will now have to have congressional hearings on how this could possibly happen, so that we can find out that we were just being stonewalled on all of the previous congressional hearings on the actual illegal targeting of right wing political speech. Even BO's scandals have scandals. That seems hard to do so consistently. | ||
