The United States showed the new rules in 1999 when we bombed Serbia until Kosovo was turned over to the Albanians, who promptly demonstrated that they know of the joys of ethnic cleansing as well as anyone. Granting autonomy to different ethnic groups is not greatly attractive to the present leadership of China. The West tried to move the Ukraine out of the Russian orbit and over into that of Brussels. The problem with that is the results of putting yourself under the yoke is that the EU doesn’t really make you rich, as witness events in Greece, Spain, Portugal — and their remedy tends to be austerity. The Russians paid many of the Ukraine’s bills for a decade. How they’re calling in some of the debt. The Crimean gambit worked better than expected, and is now a done deal. What else does Russia want? Applying the formula, Russia wants loyal Russians, where is a good supply of them? Well, in the southern Ukraine; they call themselves Cossacks, and they made up the loyalist elements of the Tsarist armed forces. So the 'legitimate' government that took over a crony government that was not responsive outside of Kiev by ransacking police buildings, taunting government officials, and engaged in suspected sniping against civilians .... wants to quell an 'illegitimate' "separatist" resistance that is against Kiev because they do not represent the people of the region..... The new 'President' elect was the economic minister under the old regime..... 'meet the new boss - same as the old boss' the terms separatist/terrorist get thrown around this thing like a frisbee - like the ones using it - think it means something. It doesn't. It is propaganda to dehumanize the 'enemy' so you feel better about shelling the city with Katysha rockets (you know the unguided over the hill barrage of say 135 of them at a time ) you are not breeding compliance and cooperation with that When the Russians come in - they wont be doing troop movements - they will be doing subversive resistance movements - small bands of 'volunteers' with surgical strikes against leadership, communications, and arms caches. It will be a summer of war by proxy... up and until - one of those boats in the black is sunk/attacked .... wait and see. THERE ARE NAZI'S IN UKRAINE AND THEY ARE IN PLACES AND POSITIONS OF POWER, SUPPORTED BY THE U.S ADMINISTRATION. I don't think it's Putin who wants this to escalate. Has he ever? Has he shown signs of expansionism? Not from where I've looked. So I've yet to see where he's REALLY to blame. The excuse Obama is using to ramp up U.S military in eastern Europe as of Monday. I agree The O seems to want a war. I speculate it's the classic Russian reason. "What we need is a short victorious war" to distract the masses from bad government. Then Russia went to war with Japan. And got their butts kicked. Halal food is probably more humane than commercial "normal". Same as kosher. My grandfather was a butcher and I've seen both. So what's the issue with Monsanto in Ukraine? Surely you don't think that there has to be a war for Monsanto to sell seeds? They are the largest seed provider in the world. That's because they are the best at what they do. Ukraine would at best, be a very small portion of their sales. Certainly not worth having a war over. I don't get it. | ||

They fear Russia will try to do to them...what he did to Crimea. It is a VALID fear. And they have Some people paranoid. Those Nazi's in Ukrane... you gonna show those same pictures as before?
