>>>The point is, the US economy is crazy strong in here at least for major businesses. Wow. I knew there were folks out there who believed that . . but need thought I'd see one. That's what living in fantasy land can do to a mind. That's why Obama's jobs czar moved many of his firms jobs overseas? http://www.humanevents.com/2011/07/12/after-moving -ge-positions-overseas-immelt-calls-on-business-to -create-jobs/ Wow . . just wow. |

I thought this was interesting as well . . . after Fiat picked up the failed pieces of Chrysler and may end up with GM. http://www.foxbusiness.com/industries/2014/05/23/f iat-chrysler-ceo-dont-buy-fiat-electric-car/ |

Climate change and weather related issues are taking a toll on the world economies. But then, you don't believe in that either. look, I'm sorry things aren't working out economically for some of you. But things are going well for almost all of the listed corporations in America. And.... Its only going to get better until the political parties in control change and we go back to wars. |

Hahahaha! You really are an idiot. The climate change aristocracy has been scrambling to rejigger their climate models to line up with the "nothing has changed" observations that have interrupted their narrative for the past decade and a half. Even if you believe the man made global warming dogma, you don't believe that it's done anything significant over the last 15 years, because the measurements show it hasn't. All the "changes" have been speculative and dogma driven adjustments to historical data that (conveniently for the global warming priesthood) can't be proven one way or the other. |

8 years of Georgie and all he can summon is Iraqi propaganda from Saddam's minions. It would be so refreshing if just once one of these parrots would use fact based arguments. I can easily criticize Bush using the truth. Why can't they? Worse they almost never defend anything The O has done factually. Even I can do that. Why can't they? ( some here would be upset...... but I can defend a few of Obama's policies. Give me some time maybe even 3 or 4. ) |

Worse they almost never defend anything The O has done factually. Even I can do that. Why can't they? Can you defend any of his policies that weren't a direct carryover from the previous admin? In case Garry missed it somehow, the first quarter GDP for 2014 was a very stagnant 0.1%. That's terrible. He probably believes this chart looks good...
It probably does look good to someone who doesn't understand it. The problem is that charting a fixed growth percentage will always produce a roughly similar looking chart. Plotting a fixed growth rate will always produce a chart that look flat early on and have the steepest growth right at the tail end. The biggest problem with that chart is that the tail isn't quite as steep as the years prior. That means that growth has slowed dramatically. The only question I'm left with, is Garry simply unaware of all of this, or is he just a tool for trying to pass this off as good news? Only Garry can tell us for sure. |

Sifo I thought that was the unemployment chart at first.... but it didn't make sense. Thank you. Can I defend an Obama policy that's not a Bush carryover? Yes. Obama ended Bill Clinton's "don't ask don't tell" policy. DADT was a dishonest and divisive vote ploy. Typical of Bill it was "wouldn't it be great if Hil couldn't ask me if I cheated on her!". In practice it caused more problems than it solved,. DADT made the closet and blackmail institutionalized and chased good troops out of the service. I camp with a gal who left because of it. I don't say I'm sure what Obama replaced it with is ideal but eliminating forced dishonesty and the blackmail that goes with it is to be applauded. OTOH the incidents of sexual harassment and rape seem to have gone up? As CIC Barry is not a great leader imo. That doesn't change the fact that he DID do something good. He almost certainly did it for money but good work even with bad motivation can be a good. |

Sifo I thought that was the unemployment chart at first.... but it didn't make sense. Thank you. The traditional unemployment number has simply been broken. It no longer tells the story it used to due to people who have simply dropped out of the work force. My brother-in-law is a prime example of that. Ask and I'll tell the whole story. I'm among the "under employed". If I were working at my capabilities, there would be a job open for someone at the lower end. I just had a memorial day BBQ with someone who has a masters degree in IT and is working as a Wallmart greeter. She's only in her early 50s. It's pretty brutal right now for those who are looking for work. Imagine if the economy were not doing so good! Obama ended Bill Clinton's "don't ask don't tell" policy. I'll give you that. |

I'd like to point out that just following and extending a previous admin's policy is not always a good thing. Bush used drones to strike jihadi in Pakistan. So does Obama. I'm not sure at all that it's been better received by the Pakistan government. Pretty sure they hated it under Bush. They are pushing back more now. I may not be able to blame Barry for that with complete fairness. I do wonder what college era connections Obama made there. Also Nixon started "the war on drugs" to combat the narcoterrorism in Vietnam. The bad guys deliberately tried to addict our troops. A Lot of guys came back with heroin problems. Under Dick the idea was to fund treatment and fight drug use with education and understanding. Subsequent admins took that ball and ran the wrong way. Made the problem worse and even worse, jacked the profit margins for drug lords right up. We've been "at war with drugs" far longer than a lot of folk have been alive and drug related crime and murder dominate many large cities and even small towns. Not to mention Columbia & Mexico. End rant. |

Wow, this place is pretty Anti-America. Bye for now Really? This thread is primarily against the political philosophy of Obama and his singular lack of qualification to be President of the United States of America. Most here are eager to listen to your reasoned argument of your support of this pResident. I personally am fanatically PRO America which is the best country by far in the history of countries. Hope things get better for you I personally am doing great because I took the opportunity to get a great education and have worked diligently for all my employers. What I am concerned about is that current and future generations will not have the same opportunities as I had. The primary reason for this growing lack of opportunity stems from zealots who demand equal outcomes rather than equal opportunity. We CAN do better, garryb. Stick around and educate us. |

So the White House is blaming the latest GDP number on a bad winter? So if cold weather is bad for the GDP, global warming must be good for the GDP? Of course we haven't had truly good GDP numbers for all of BO's pResidency. It could simply be that BO is bad for the GDP. |

If you run a talent Skill and Education Back ground on this group you will find many very accomplished people Where you see limitations most of us see opportunity. We don't fear Climate change we just deal with what we get. God has his plan for the world and Environment. In the natural economy nothing is wasted it just changes form You may not approve of the Carbon Cycle time table but you cant change it. Ill tell you a little secret your a carbon based life form!. If your worried about the warming planet you should study the Psychometric chart Guess what you get with higher temps ? A large increase in Grains of water per lb of air. With that the super secret shading factor is expanded You have seen them You Know CLOUDS. Find a real met class and not a political correct water melon one. standard ebb and flow of the economic cycle (UNLESS you do something entirely stupid with your monetary policy) is 7 -10 years. Meaning - if you don't F#ck it up; the economy will come back to base zero numbers in 7 years - and has since they started tabulating those states in 1921. NOW - IF you are going to do TARP and a subsequent bailout in artificial money policy with ever increasing supply WHILE lowering interest rates AND imposing new lending restrictions..... you have pissed away any normal cycle of recovery and have moved into where we are now.... and the only way out of this.... is to kill the currency and reset it Watch and Learn Wait and See This shiat has been on the docket for nearly a decade - the dollar and the economy built around is about to be done. (That Russia China oil bill where they trade only in their own currencies and not the US dollar 'reserve' currency - should be the warning shot that wakes up the #economists of this administration) .... but I am not expecting much. If you have cash - now would be a good time to divest it out of US banks and currency models we are still on target for a hot bed of violence this year - the 'plan' is all starting to come together. Obama is a fkking idiot and the world has figured out the emperor has no clothes.
quote:Thursday, April 24, 2014 The number of voters who rate President Obama’s leadership as poor is at the highest level of his entire presidency. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 45% of Likely U.S. Voters now think the president is doing a poor job. That’s up five points from 40% a month ago and the president’s worst showing in monthly surveying since November 2008. Nearly as many (41%) rate the president’s job performance as good or excellent, although that’s down from 44% in the previous survey.
Yeah . . . I'd say it's about violin time. |
