I have friends, business associates, students, and pen pals there.

I am flipping fighting beyond seething mad about how 'little' Amerika seems to care but yet is driving the hostilities; driving the agenda of take over; bank domination, oil rights, crop rights, water rights - and none of it is back to the people that own the land, work the fields, or are native to the country - it is all about licensing and lawyering - a litigation of rules that will herd the dull, dumb, and meek ; you know - The AMERICAN way.

Luckily some are starting to wake up - that WASHINGTON DC and the politicians from it are NOT your friends, do NOT have your best interests in mind; and would rob your account and say that it is your social justice responsibility because of your innate 'privelege'

F*ck them
F*ck every last one of them.

There should be bodies on pikes in the Maiden Square - there should be heads floating in Boston Harbor - and I am betting that many of them would be related.

If Amerika really doesn't care about Ukraine - then get the F*ck out. Really - close the embassy - and walk away.
It would be preferential to the mess they are creating with their 'foreign policy'

That's by far the best thing you've said in this topic so far Brian.

What the U.S. administration doesn't give a shit about is what those videos show. Don't give a shit for all the reasons you mention Brian. Because there are more important reasons than people killing one another. But this problem is snowballing and has been for sometime. And we have seen it tonight sweeping across Europe in the form of the European elections, where we now have many fascist, racist, anti semitic, nazi, nationalist bigots elected as MEP's. Yep, they've got a seat in the EU corridors of power. The place they make the rules. The place they make the big decisions. The place where everything ticks from. And we've given this power to who? Hell, the National Front won in France! The Hitler party took 15% of the vote in Germany! How much is too much before this uprising of hatred and evil is stopped? It's already endemic in a couple of generations and it won't stop there either - unless it is stopped. Yet the U.S. continues its selfish foreign policy despite all this. Worse, they are even complicit in its uprising. Nope the U.S. does not give a shit. Not at least until the Nazi's land on American soil.

It can be very annoying to agree with a pundit on one subject, and think he's full of crap on another. Sometimes in the same rant.

This guy, for me, fits that category.

Rocket, why would we want to drop a nuke on Ukraine? Makes no sense.

OTOH he's relieved of duty most of the old Generals in charge of our Nuclear arsenal, so he could decide to take out Brussels. ( The First Lady seems to like to shop in Paris, so it's safe )

After all, The O is the smartest man in any room. Just ask his Loyal Followers.

Oddly Russian audiences laugh at the idea that Obama calls someone else a liar. Too bad his Loyal Followers haven't caught on.

After all, The O's foreign policy is a big hit everywhere, right?

Ok, except for the countries he's helped overthrow.

But... shouldn't they feel grateful?

Isn't Egypt all happy? What? Civil war? Obama's buddy in jail? The Egyptian people didn't like Obama's buddy's rape gangs? Something about genocide?

I spent most of my life believing that folk like Kissinger and Brzezinski were responsible for a lot of the idiocy that sent my generation off to die for oil in Asia. Why should now be different?

I think we should take everyone's Soc sec, Medicare, education benefits, Obama care, Federal highway, unemployment, food stamps etc. and use it to police the Ukraine, Syria, Libya, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, maybe a pre-emptive strike on Iran, Egypt, and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
That would open up a bunch of new military jobs and if there is any money left we could apply it to veterans benefits.

What do you think?

Patrick, I wasn't saying the U.S. could nuke Ukraine. Merely making the point most American's don't know much about what's going on there. Hence, the U.S. could drop a nuke on Ukraine, and most American's still wouldn't have a clue what's going on there.

That said, your second link is good, and should be printed in every mainstream newspaper in America, everyday for a week.

Would it make a differences to the American peoples psyche over Ukraine? Sadly I think not. The majority of American's appear to suffer, or is that enjoy, the freedom their isolated land mass allows them.

Would it make a difference to the Ukrainian people if American's were better informed about events and happenings in Ukraine. What do you American's here think?

What do you think?

Such is not exclusive to the U.S.

Here in Britain the gap between those who earn ordinary money and those who earn very well and above, that gap is growing, and has been for several decades.

You can take the gap wider if you look at the extreme ends. That is to say, the rich are getting richer, and the poor are getting poorer.

In the case of the 'not so well off' we have seen many of their state benefits cut, and their state entitlements similarly treat. This whilst the government refuse to increase the tax the much better off pay. Typically those earning £150k + to megabucks, but instead reducing their tax by 5p from 50p to 45p. It's an argument that's run and run and run, and still is. In fact just this week.

It's meant to be an exaggeration to drive home the point. Otherwise there'd be no point in making the point if its significance were not understood.

What's tragic is your comment. It shows you missed the point, which is the trouble in Ukraine threatening to destabilise your life in some way as well as many millions of others. Whilst you might survive whatever it is, many have died already, and continue to do so. Tell me Fred. If and when that includes American soldiers, will you sit up and pay attention then?

Then I guess I miss the point. People are dying throughout the world. Should our military be engaged throughout? To me this is just another hotspot that will take years to shake itself out if it ever does. The US will not engage Russia under this president so you will not see our troops there. There will only be sabre rattling. Boys will be boys.

Will you care if it affects the U.S. economy to the point you feel it in your pocket, or it's felt in your families and friends pockets to the point it impacts on their life, thus yours too?

How about if American military are killed. Then will it?

What will it take to wake up a nation fed lies, kept in the dark, some ignorant, some who just don't care? I do understand. It's not America's fault. It never is.

Well, in order to keep our system just, there can be only one outcome for exposing a CIA operative...

Sarah Palin will be sent to jail because an Obama staffer leaked the officers identity.

That follows precedent, bacause, after all Scooter Libby went to jail because Richard Armitrage exposed Valerie Plame (who, as agents go, was a total for letting her husband try and become a media political celebrity relative to CIA business and interests).

The last Presidential assassination was pinned and attributed - depending who you listen to - either a plot by the CIA or a KGB operation.

This guy has pissed on one and is waving red lines and paper sanctions on others .....

So it's erased? Any more info on this Brian?

Rocket,

I should probably be asking Mr. Grumpy this, but what's the program with France's latest power block?

For the Yanks.... the FN got a bunch of seats in the European Parliament. They are anti EU? Not alone either in wanting to break up the Union.

We got the following players mentioned from France.

"far-Right Front National" ( new power block )
"the Socialists" ( currently in power )
"opposition centre-Right UMP" ( ? )

and they mention The German "conservative CDU" and Brit anti-EU folk.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/journalists/henry-samue l/10856959/French-political-class-in-turmoil-after -Front-Nationals-European-earthquake-victory.html

Rocket can you give us a brief thumbnail of the players above? Try not to use the term "tossers" more than twice each, and I'd prefer a little more informative than "crazy useless greedy......"

But I'll take what you got.

"because Richard Armitrage exposed Valerie Plame"

And she wasn't even "outed" because she wasn't in the field. Her neighbors knew she was an agent. Not a state secret. If you're on the hunt for an example of a phony scandal, there it is.

Those links say nothing of Cheney directing Armitage (or Libby) to 'out' Plame. Libby was convicted of lying for not remembering where he heard that Plame was an agent, not for 'outing' her.

Sounds like you're remembering things the way you want them to be, and not the way there are. To be fair though, you're remembering it the way the press depicted it. There was a shrieking silence from them when Armitage spilled the beans.

I followed the Plame thing from the beginning, because it made no sense then. None of it. Here is what I recall (from memory)...

Joe Wilson (Plames husband) was asked to report on attempts from middle eastern governments to try and buy yellow cake uranium.

Joe reported they were false based on the limited things he did, doing interviews and looking into things fairly publicly. This wasn't a spook thing, this was a former ambassador asking around fairly openly to learn what he could learn.

The Bush administration got more specific and actionable actual intelligence information from the UK government that indicated that Joe Wilson was wrong. And I believe the facts supported that conclusion later... they did try and buy it.

The Bush administration decided the UK information was more reliable. Perhaps because they wanted to believe it, perhaps because the UK research was much deeper than anything Joe Wilson could do.

Joe Wilson threw a hissy fit and went public with his role as an "investigator", and his conclusion that there was no attempt to buy. He "outed" himself, and used his incomplete information (just his part) to publicly attack the Bush administration.

Meanwhile, Richard Armitage, who is a Democrat Clinton partisan, in a discussion with a journalist who was asking about the Joe Wilson attacks against the Bush administration, "outed" Plame, who was by all accounts a CIA bureaucrat, not an agent. I'd say no CIA employee should be "outed", but I'd also say that if a CIA agents spouse is going to go on a CIA mission and then decide to turn the results of it into a public platform for attacking an administration, that agent should have either shut her husband the hell up, or should have otherwise divorced or resigned.

During a very partisan investigation trying to "stick it to Bush", Scooter Libby gave some conflicting testimony in recalling many complex details. At the time he being pressed for these details, the investigators already knew that Armitage was the one that outed Plame first. The journalist just used Libby to try and get another confirmation that what Armitage had already told him was reliable. As previously stated, the author could have gotten exactly the same confirmation many other easy ways... the damage was long done already.

The investigators were deliberately trying to pin the coverup on somebody, since they already knew they could only pin the crime on one of their own.

Joe Wilson was the one that outed Valarie Plame, by taking the results of a CIA mission and using them as a political platform to attack an administration. He was the one playing russian roulette with his wife, and after enough speeches and letters to the editor, he came up on a loaded chamber.

Meanwhile, a Democratic President lies under oath to a direct question about sexually abusing a staffer. But that's OK, because, apparently, its OK to take advantage of your power to exploit vulnerable women if you are Democrat.

Hey, the pre-emptive strike over bogus WMDs starting an unfunded war that benefited no one but Halliburton and black-water is an honest mistake that wasn't covered up and is no big deal.

Except maybe to the families of the military involved.

Sorry I got confused.
