From that experience, Obama’s advisers persuaded him that it would be possible to “turn” America’s enemies by taking control of them instead of fighting them. It was a dazzling prospect which offered victory on the cheap. It was to be built on three pillars: covert action, targeted assassinations and diplomacy. The idea was simple, instead of relying on the regular military, the Obama administration would take over the most dangerous jihadi groups through intelligence agencies. Through this mechanism they would become their patrons and cement the relationship with diplomatic deals with their Gulf funders. Drones and hunter killer squads would be employed to promote chosen intelligence assets — American agents — to positions of responsbility in the terror cells. The drones would clear the way for designated jihadis to rise within the ranks. Eventually America would own the jihad and neuter it from within. America would out ISI the ISI. But of course there had to be a genuine political component as well. A bone needed to be thrown to genuine Muslim aspirations. Why not give the Muslim Brotherhood Egypt and hand over Syria to al-Qaeda? And why not use American diplomatic muscle to force a deal between Palestine and Israel. That way al-Qaeda could have their own countries and presumably be satisfied with that. This scheme has a certain superficial attractiveness. It sounds wildly daring, incredibly smart and its formulators must have felt like Cortez on a Peak in Darien. “Boy are we cool to have thought of this.” There is only one problem with this scenario. It could never be sold to a public who had given their sons to fighting the Jihad in Iraq and Afghanistan. It could never be peddled to crusty old guys who’d see it as a crazy-ass scheme. The solution to meeting the objections was simple. Don’t tell anyone and conduct a secret foreign and counter-terrorist policy, which when it succeeded could be unveiled as proof of Obama’s genius. All of this is conjecture, but conjecture in the same way that the New York Times argues there is nothing to Benghazi. Absent testimony and the disclosure of records, Benghazi remains a null value, something unmeasured. We don’t know what it is, any more than a blank address field in a database; we only know we don’t know what it is. So let me insert a guess into the field. Suppose Benghazi was the night when the administration’s secret policy fell apart. In one devastating attack Obama — and Hillary — realized they had been double-crossed and their whole theory had been a dream. In an instant it was plain they could not control the jihad from the inside. That setback, by itself, was not necessarily a bad thing. Commanders in chief can make mistakes so why couldn’t Hillary and Obama just admit they had this theory but it didn’t work in practice and just learn from it? Because they had pursued the policy secretly and possibly illegally. Because of 2012. Because like Hirohito, Obama could do no wrong, so there was nothing but to protect the Throne of Heaven from the accusation of fallibility and the guilt of cover-up. So they lied. I've been watching the Soviets, and now the New Russia play the Jihadi as tools to destroy The West. That's you. I've wondered how Russia expects to survive the rise of Jihad, as they will surely be betrayed and murdered in turn, after Western Civilization falls. The Jihadi, it is obvious to me, hate the secularist Russian Empire nearly as much as they hate us. They just are willing to use, then betray the Russians. Next. It now seems Putin, and his KGB predecessors, are smarter than I gave them credit. I have no doubt that Mecca, Riyadh, Tehran, Qom, etc. all will burn the instant they no longer serve their "partners" who are actually masters. I doubt that Obama has near the smarts and vision to subvert the Jihadi as the article says. The Ruthlessness, yes indeed. He's bragged about being the one to decide who lives and dies, he's bragged that he's "really good at killing people" with drones. In Egypt, he backed the Muslim Brotherhood guy, who's minions went in mobs through the streets gang raping women to terrorize the public. The public fought back. In Libya, he backed jihadi and we are now very not welcome there. At this point I'm almost ready to believe Putin is on the right side of this Ukraine war. Time magazine has him on the cover, and not flattery this time.... based on that, I may respect Putin far more than Obama. How much does that suck? | ||

Had a leftist loon tell me I was lying when I mentioned that the big Union rally in D.C. left garbage scattered all over the mall, while the Glenn Beck crowd left it cleaner than they got there. He insisted that the pictures were faked because of the leaves on the trees, said it was too late in the season........ I guess he has no idea where Washington D.C. actually is. I LOVE THIS ONE!!!! As detailed in the Truther.org report entitled “Top U.S. Landmarks Slated For “Controlled Demolition” Under Obama”, the entire city of Washington, D.C. has been rigged for demolition under the Obama administration (e.g., the National Mall; the Pentagon; the United States Capitol; the Supreme Court Building; the Washington Monument; the White House, and the FBI’s the J. Edgar Hoover Building). Therefore, within a few minutes, the entire city of Washington, D.C. can be turned into a raging inferno, thus giving the look of an elaborate and organized coup. one of the guys at work absolutely insists that the World Trade center came down from controlled demolition. He also thinks that all skyscrapers have nukes planted in the basements, supposedly to keep them from crushing other buildings when they fall over..... He refuses to believe that the Richard Martin Stern book "The Tower" which became the First Disaster Movie, "The Towering Inferno" exactly describes the "pancake failure" mode shown by the Twin Towers. Or that the Seismograph readings pushed as "proof" that Bush planted charges himself is exactly what I'd expect to see in the case of what I saw on tv, not a demolition, which looks very different. I paid attention in "earth science" and learned how to read Seismographs.... and I've seen the traces from the strip mines that set off charges big enough that they have to notify the Russians when they set them off so no one thinks we are resuming underground nuclear testing. I'm still trying to figure out how launching a flaming, disintegrating skyscraper into the air over a city is "safer" than having it "fall over", but I suppose I lack imagination sometimes. Hey, I'm always waiting for the next Reichstag Fire, and Barry has bragged how good he is at killing, but even I can't overcome the skepticism at "blowing up D.C. to fake a coup". I'm not so sure. I think the deceit and dishonesty passes muster with some folks as long as they are getting their "free crap". The IRS, the VA, Benghazi....... If they touched it .... Maybe...but America is starting to look and smell like the Weimar Republic. This will most decidedly not have a happy ending if we truly lack what our Founding Fathers called a "virtuous public". If that is lost, America is lost and we will have a dictator. It happened in ancient Rome, France in the 1790s, and Germany in the 1930s. It CAN happen here so stop drinking Sanka and switch to a wonderful robust cup of coffee to understand history....and people. For now, I must have faith in the wisdom of the American People but it ain't looking good for precisely the reason you just enumerated.
