I will give an apology to Rocket for derailing his discussion in this thread. It was fun watching him make you lot dance. At least he can produce sources for what he's talking about. Something City can't do. Whilst your support is welcome, I can't return the sentiment in this Slicker thing. I don't see, nor understand, the rituals involved or how on BadWeB anyone could form an opinion on another person to the extent you are. People in the same career field can generally spot bs when they see it. I have no clue whether or not City is being truthful but I will take him at his word until I'm convinced otherwise. However, I find it repugnant and disgusting when people embellish or outright lie about their military service. Far too many people have sacrificed their lives and limbs to be disrespected in that manner. I once had a co-worker that was a habitual liar. We finally wised up to his lies when he told a story straight out of the movie Forrest Gump. He was fired forthwith. | ||

Cataract2, admit it, you have a bromance thing for Cityx. You've also called BS on him ever leaving the US and many other things that I would have to say Cityx has been pretty darned close to the truth on. Is he embellishing what he did in the military? I have no idea. How do you KNOW? From what I can see, it's only based on your opinion, which has been shown to be wrong on other matters regarding Cityx. If you could actually prove what you allege, I would be right there with you making sure that he can never live it down on this site. So far though, you have not hit the target. | ||

I've never had any reason to doubt Brian. In fact the manner in which he comports himself is admirable. He never wages personal attack. I know a number of folks who've served in clandestine capacities and covert ops; each of them share that trait. Never a hothead or internet antagonist among them. Their character is exemplary. Not that I always agree with them. I don't. Leftists as a rule will always attack the person rather than the issue, especially when their lies and deception are exposed and they lose the debate of ideas. So Cataract2, you might reconsider your stance and consider for one minute, could you be wrong? You have zero evidence. You've allowed emotion to subvert reason. I saw that video this morning, the "tough guy" civilian tried to grab the soldiers gun... that's when he got shot in the foot. (what a dumbo) But the other guy... not so much. Idiot soldier firing weapon too low. (trying to scare public) RT news is big pile of hog poo. | ||

That's odd because I too saw a video this morning where they went slomo frame by frame. The bloke shot in the leg was stood about 6 feet away from the soldier firing his gun at the ground. Clearly visible was the flame exiting the barrel of his gun. The impact of the bullet(s) bouncing off the ground (all circled in red on film), and the bystander falling to the ground a moment later. There is no way he tried to grab anyone's gun in the footage I saw. And yes it was RT News. Very informative. Rocket in England | ||

No, he was 6+ feet away walking closer to gunman, when he got close enough, he grabbed at the barrel twice, 2 seconds later he was accidently hit by ricochet from other guys warning shot at ground (dumb move by soldier) But he most definitely grabbed the barrel. Very stupid thing to do IMHO. Very stupid man. Either way, he was dumb to try and grab gun. This was all mob's fault. | ||

Mobs fault? They'd arrived at a polling station to vote, only to be confronted by Ukrainian soldiers preventing them from doing so. I don't think for a moment watching the footage, they expected the soldiers to open fire whether just warning shots or otherwise. I didn't see the attempted gun grab. At 18 /19 sec it appears Ukrainian soldier steps forward raising his gun to protester. There's no clear view showing protester grabbed gun. Those of you that think the EU has a 'moral' highground imperative to 'save' Ukraine from Russia.... should watch carefully the trial and events unfolding in the Barclays scandal .... just 4 years after many in that institution let to the derivative melt down of the reinsurance market for reinvestment of housing mortgages and real estate investments..... Then ask yourself who are the 'terrorists' that are doing the most damage to an economy or its stability. Ukraine is independent. If it's an attempt to prevent it from being aimed at him, he is a special kind of stupid. The guy with the gun is backing away, while the guy who got shot is closing the distance. That can get a gun pointed at you, and if you persist, you are likely going to get shot. Here's the first time he grabbed for it...  Note that the second time he has advanced a few more feet. Beyond that, I have not clue who's who. Simply pointing out that the guy who got shot was acting aggressively toward the guy with the gun. That's still a special kind of stupid. |
