Buell Blast 03 will start up, but the engine will die when the handlebars are turned to the right. This is the only thing that I have found loose on the bike, any suggestions as to what this is or where it's supposed to go?

I'll need a better pic to guess better.
My guess is that's supposed to go to the oil pressure sensor.

does the oil light come on if the wire is shorted to ground?

You'll need to go into your wiring harness.

As our bikes age, the insulation becomes brittle, and the wires are pulled apart within the insulation.

More than likely, you'll find a wire(s) that has a separation in the copper within the insulation.

Check your ignition wiring too.
