This is a long shot, but...what the hell.

I have a 2 bedroom / 1 bath ground floor apartment for rent in Cascade, MD.

I personally updated the electric. New plumbing. Fresh paint. Brand new heat pump in December. Hardwood floors in bedrooms and hall. Ceramic tile bathroom. Linoleum eat-in kitchen. Good carpet in living room. Mud room to kitchen. Covered front porch. 1000sf living space. 1000sf unfinished cement basement with Bilco entry doors. 1/3 acre.

Location: dead-freakin'-center in some of the best riding roads in western MD (I live half a mile from the apt - I KNOW THE ROADS!). Across the street from a park. 2 doors from a pizza joint. 2 doors (the other way) from a Legion. The park has a rec center and community center. 1.5 miles from a beer store. 3 miles from a laundromat (has w/d hookup in the apt if you have a w/d). 5 minutes from Waynesboro PA (grocery, walmart, stores, fuel, Lowes). 15 minutes from Thurmont MD. 20 minutes from Frederick MD. And...half a mile from some putz who works on Buells ; )

I plan to put a shed in the back for a mower...if a Bueller gets it, I'll make the shed big enough for a bike. PM me if you're interested and I can send photos and more details : )

If it wasn't a 4hr commute each way I'd be all over that like a fat kid at a candy store.

The timing is right but unfortunately the location is not.

I am moving within the next few months with my girlfriend, as much as I would love to get away from the hell hole that is just north of NYC, I would be given up an awesome job. I currently have a great job that has me set for life. Great pay, benefits, perfect hours (1-9pm, no rush hour traffic), and to top it off it is low stress and I rarely have to lift anything. The job is perfect, and I really don't want to give that up.

I'd love to get away from it all and live in a cave or a treehouse or something like that in the middle of nowhere (as long as I still got fiber internet), but realistically that ain't going to happen. I've been debating to moving to Pennsylvania, the closest portion is a little over an hour each way commute, rent is dirt cheap, but odds are I'd lose access to a decent internet connection.

I'm looking at buying a piece of land with an old barn that can be restored.

But . . for present. . . I start my new job a week from today and it I were writing my own script I couldn't have done better.

How do you like the view out the window of my office trailer for the next 3 years?

Nice view, Court. Hope you take a bike along to your new job site.
Actually doesn't look all that different from the area near Ratbuell's rental property.

wow i'd be all over that! the hour and a half commute to Westminster wouldn't be unbearable... but we all know it'd be close to 2.5 hours with 70 traffic... or the "long way" back road fun, regardless!

I'll make the run one day for kicks but it isn't bad at all...

Hmmmm . . may be worth a trip down just to look at the place. But . . knowing me . . .I'd end up renting it and ruin the neighborhood.

Tonight's sunset, from my porch. Un-manipulated colors, simply resized for badweb.

Taken with a cameraphone.

It was a nice one : ) Sunset and thunderstorm rolled into one!
