I've been watching this. I don't think that story has one detail correct though.
It's my understanding that he NEVER paid the grazing fees. These fees were a new thing that the Feds simply started up in 1993. Until then Nevada had control over this land. Suddenly the Feds step in and claim control. Our family has land in MI that has been caught up in a similar power grab since about 1973 as part of the Sleeping Bear National Lake Shore. Some families involved in that got their land condemned by the government, paid pennies on the dollar for what it was worth, only to find the government then selling it for a huge profit to a private developer to build the Homestead resort. We have had restrictions on the use and sale of our land for over 40 years now. Why? Simply because they can! They even hand out maps to people showing our land to be park land. We have it posted Private/No Trespassing, but people still go romping through, blissfully unaware that they are trespassing on private land. This may end very badly in NV BTW. | ||

Or if the BLM snipers get itchy. They already tazed one guy. They threw a 57 year old grandmother to the ground. They are trying to get people to stay in a fenced in "first amendment zone". I can almost understand that in a city where you have limited space and many people who must be in the area that have nothing to do with anything going on.
