"It's a reflection of a portion of our society, those people who imagine themselves an end in their own right, beholding to no higher authority than themselves, thus they worship their "holy" state."

Don't ask me to submit to you're higher authority. I prefer to make decision based upon common sense rather than the teachings of a novel. It's not ironic that your demeanor is much the same as a Muslim cleric.

Yet another perfect example. Bravo, keep on proving the point.

Christian religious conviction is to be insulted and dismissed. The leftist doctrine exactly, that one must not submit to God, only our own common sense, which leftists declare for us must be our supreme authority.

Even more vapid anti-intellectualism, equating today's islamism to Christianity.

You won't find a higher degree of intellectual dishonesty anywhere. Leftism demands dishonesty. Avoid it.

"I specifically stated that my objection to abortion is rooted in science, not religion."

So why are you opposed to abortion? There is no morality in science. It's your religion that makes you opposed.

How can you equate intellectualism with a belief in a higher authority (especially when there are many) when in fact they are polar opposites. Because you believe means that you have no proof. An intellect bases opinion on fact not belief. Your view is extremely contorted.

This is such a waste of time. I'm going for a ride. In this case my Lightning is the higher authority.

Then we ought be free to murder any helpless child intimately dependent upon others for its continued life and well-being.

Yet another example of vapid anti-intellectualism exposed.

You really should abandon such brain rot. Embrace free thinking, reason and logic. Ditch the lie of "Progressivism." It's neither progress or good in nature.

I am opposed to abortion because it is killing a human being. When science showed me that there is indeed a human life being killed,... I was outraged. Before science (or the internet) I really paid it no mind, left it up to the woman..., but to find out that there is a real heart beating... little fingers... brain functions happening... WOW!!! Science just proves that it is wrong and immoral... and also that the religion is the correct path to follow.

Beyond just vapid, this is seriously ignorant and untruthful...

>>> How can you equate intellectualism with a belief in a higher authority (especially when there are many) when in fact they are polar opposites.

Absent a higher authority, all is permitted. See Sartré, Nietzsche et al. Deny it? Then you also find yourself squarely opposed to the well-documented thinking of the vast majority of our nation's founders including John Adams who stated unequivocally,

Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.

Thus the leftists (Progressives) seek to destroy our constitution where it is troubling to their immorality and hatred of God.

>>> This is such a waste of time.

Defending the indefensible usually is.

Be positive though, we have hope that your intellectual integrity will kick in eventually, and you'll decide to give up the anti-intellectualism. Seeing as how you're a God-hater, I don't see much hope for that. Being so misled is an incredibly difficult obstacle to overcome. Still, I have hope. Will even petition the great "I am" on your behalf. Your world view is bankrupt. The sooner you discover that, the better.

So, F-F, are we to assume that you are 'immoral' or, 'amoral?' If not, from whence did your system of 'morals' arise? Science?

Remind me to always pull the key out of my bike when you're around

Transcententalist : A person that is one with the pursuit towards the ideas of nature, economy, history, industry, and freedom that sees society as a threat to personal liberty, growth, and personal development

or at least that is what I got from Thoreau - you will notice they don't teach him until college - if at all. I am surprised this administration has not put him on the Banned book list. That kind of self awareness is DANGEROUS ; )

PS - Constitutionalist - I realize that the parties are full of liars -and only their frame of reference is different and their motivation to pick your pocket is merely driven by when to pick it; and how to pick it - not rather it is moral to pick it at all.
Red or Blue - Left or Right ; each is as corrupt as the other.

meh

there are large swaths of society that I want nothing to do with; including breeding and having kids.
this family line dies with me.

as for improving society ... I am always amazed that they 'betterment' of society is usually found at the piles of dead bodies that these cheer leaders want to push

Look no further than Hitler and his Master Race - it would all be better if the chaff of you were dead. or so goes the meme.

That is a sociopath.

carry on.

Science delivers thermonuclear fire to enemies thousands of miles away, with remarkable speed and accuracy.
Science weaponizes Ebola, Q fever, and anthrax.
Religion can teach tolerance (the real kind; even of those with whom we disagree).

Hitler's eugenics vision was born of science, a natural progression from Darwinian naturalism. All Marxist genocide too.

Evil men exploiting religiosity is just more evil.

Islamism isn't mere religion, it's brutally oppressive totalitarianism.

Christian church had its day of mass corruption and political greed. Not anything in Christian teaching supports such evildoers, and such evildoing pales in comparison to the products of Marxism.

The major political party closest to Marxism? Progressive Democrat. Murder unborn children, glorify sodomy, eliminate God and religion...

If you value truth and knowledge, then you'd do well, do yourself much good, Julie, to consider the information shared by Mr, Uri Bezmenov, former Soviet KGB.

Stop the hate. Embrace truth.

The establishment of virtually all institutions of higher learning and yes, even scientific inquiry itself, owe their existence to Christianity. Don't dare count the hospitals that share the same distinction.

It's just ignorant and incredibly unfair to lump all religions into the same category, but I'm with you on islamism and Marxism, both totalitarianisms, so too Naziism (national socialism).

Julie,

Listen, learn, reconsider. You've been misled by the very brand of religious totalitarianism to which you object.

In order to subvert the enemy of marxism, one must subvert what made America so strong, Family, Morality, Faith, Freedom. Substitute for that the statist goals of "social justice", the environment, animal rights, women's rights (demoralize through baby slaughter)...

Well done comrade. :/

Neither does science fly men to the moon. Science is nothing but logic applied to learning about nature.

What got man to the moon was the amazing prosperity and innovation inherent in a free nation, coupled with a popular vision of what might be possible. Bravo JFK for that.

Today, anti-Obama signs with racist language accompany Tea Party rallies;

F#%$%#$%ING LIAR More of YOUR "FACTS" ?
From an opinion piece !

I have been on the ground personally there were no con-fed flags burning crosses and OH BTW there were blacks present ..

YOUR pResident has done more to harm race relations "If I had a son he would look like Travon"

Really?

When the thug was guilty of assault, Drug use, and was starting a budding Criminal Career, he Certainly would have had a good teacher for criminal actions...

Read it and weep?
Really ???

If I weep, I weep for the gullible STUPID un informed people, [ useful idiots ] who buy into that kind of crap... They will suffer for their stupidity if things continue as they are...

I realize that this concept is a bit difficult to get YOUR head around but try..

The TEA party rally's cause none of the major OWS type of grief, NO Rapes, No beatings, No businesses damaged, folks are not going to the bathroom on the street

The Tea Party elected officials are not blocking up the house and senate like petulant children, they do not spout idiocy like

"We have to pass it to see whats in it"

Really????

Are we discussing legislation or a stool sample?

"The constitution is like 400 years old"

We have had 5 years of DEMOCRATIC majority in the senate and white house, the first two years this also included the house,

The signature achievement was the ACA, not much of a record,
Real unemployment likely around 15%, stagnant economy, bungled domestic and foreign policies, no meaningful job growth, SCANDALS at every turn by corrupt or incompetent officials,
The senate blocking all republican submitted budgets not even a vote...

BUT NO all is well
"The most transparent government ever"
"You can keep your doctor"
>> The video <<
To Pannetta "Handle it"

I and others who agree are tired of
a vaca a month for Moochelle

the gun grabs
the LIES and OBSTRUCTION

But we are all homophobic, racists, who live to steal all of the wealth from the poor.

Because we are Republican - Tea party

Really ?

/ rant off

God created man, man made up stories to explain nature and called things he did not understand or made up "gods", because he does not truly know his creator }

So the African/Americans that are in leadership positions in the Pee Party must be part of the 7% of African/Americans that didn't vote for Obama because the other 93% did. I don't think I would emphasize blacks in leadership positions in the Pee Party. You look foolish.

Gee fred
according to the artical you linked

the majority of DEM Voters were not high school educated,
No high school 64% for 35% against
HS grad .......51% for 48% against
college .......49% for 48% against

So the better educated the less likely
to vote dem, makes sense......

The best educated blacks are in the TEA party because they recognize Tyranny when they see it,
Perhaps as time goes on and they [ Blacks at large] get tired of the empty promises and LIES that are the democrats they will go the other way.

Depends on how smart they are...
and weather Race motivates their voting

Remember that one Tea Party gathering,.. where some one accused the other of saying the N word and/or spitting? I think that is the only time there have been any incidents of any kind at any Tea Party Rally. (I also recall that being unproven and fishy to say the least) Please show us where all the Tea Party racists are?? Where they occurred...I have never seen or heard of any instances.

I also think the Tea Party in general is a great idea. I really enjoy seeing the faces of Pelosi and Reid cringe when they are asked questions involving the Tea Party. It's freaking hilarious.
