He's a cool guy. Met him some years ago. We had an awkward moment speaking of the grenadey nature of built H-D/Buell engines.

I changed the topic to how much I love my Buell and how much fun I've had on it, but he looked like he'd rather be elsewhere at that point!

He's quite down to earth and it's obvious he has genuine passion for what he does.

Rick,
I had a similar meeting with him in a hotel lobby back in 2003, about the grenade-y nature of my stock H-D/Buell motor. I pulled the failed crankpin out of my pocket and showed it to him... :-)

"They're much better now..."

They don't come much better than Erik Buell.
In 2010 he was at a local bike hangout playing with the band.

He signed every Buell in the parking lot that day for anyone that asked, and graciously posed for pictures too.

Congratulations
He is truly amp'ed up - just amazing energy

The elves seemed pretty magical too
The factory tour was one of my to do's; glad I got to.
ON the bucket list now... to see the facilities and test pads for the Hero Joint Venture .... maybe talk them into mud tires on one of the prototypes

He went quite a bit out of his was once to sign a friend's XB at Daytona two years ago.

He was hamming it up with everybody at Larry and Cory's pit during fan walk. Great guy. And I honestly think he remembered me. His outgoing nature is a great thing. He reminds me of Bill Dance one level. Interesting story, maybe I'll have to share it one day. ; )

Erik is one of the nicest, smartest, most enthusiastic and genuine people I've ever met. I've had the good fortune to ride with him on several occasions - from some gnarly little goat trail above Scotts Valley, CA, to Mount St. Helens, WA, to Willow Springs, CA, to Toas, NM, and there were others - and got the factory tour several years back during the FBRAT Ride. Heck of a guy, way outta my league when it comes to brainpower, but he can, and will, talk to ANYBODY, for HOURS, even an ignernt like me. He even graciously visited with Ma Bueller (RIP) on my cell phone during the factory tour. Now THAT was pretty cool. : )

I once called him "The Hardest Working Man in Go Business." I'm bettin' he still is.

I haven't always had kind things to say about his motorcycles, and for that I'm truly sorry.

Very intense man more than willing to dumb it down for us commoners without a hint of condescension. Take a mental step back while talking to him and you may notice there is a lot of thinking going on in that head.

Never met the guy... And other than that video in 2009, he always seems like he's smiling.

And I'm still dying to get a job at EBR

>>> he always seems like he's smiling.

That would be accurate. And . . . he's just as nice as he seems.

Erik, the bikes he and his elves have built and designed and most importantly, the folks he's brought together, have changed my life for ever. It's been a grand adventure with many more memories to come. I don't know of a more genuine person that I've ever met, and a brilliant engineer to boot- I've got a lot to learn!

I have pictures with him and of him pre-HD dump and well into the EBR venture, he looks like he got younger and healthier after the EBR venture started. I always thank him for one of the best stress relief tools I could ask for!!
