Anybody planning to hit the usual campground at the track? Who all will be running EBR/Buell at Daytona this year? |

I'll be there most of the weekend I am sure. I like the Friday afternoon testing. the crowds are a lot smaller and you get a better chance of talking to the riders. |

Whiskey makes 50 feel like 70, or maybe just numb. Either way it'll be alright. |

So far, we know that Larry Pegram is riding an EBR in AMA Superbike. http://www.pegramracing.com |

Larry needs to update his website for the 2014 season. It's all Yamaha in the photos and racing links. |

I just saw a few minutes of his show "Superbike Family" and it showed him buying a race spec R1. I guess that was an old episode? |

To all that have camped at the speedway, what can I expect? Be the first year camping there for me. Parking at the campsite or is parking somewhere else? Food and beverages? Any first hand experience would be appreciated. Oh yeah, won't be there until Thursday maybe Friday before the 200, we're gonna make a run to the keys first and soak in a couple days of sunshine |

Not much by way of amenities at the track. Bathrooms and shower house. Riding over usually means I can't carry food and preparation equipment. Just my tent and sleeping bag. I am riding out of the tunnel and going to a restaurant for meals. |

There are a bunch of chain as well as other restaurants around the track. There is also a few grocery stores not that far off also. Like Aeholton said its a little lacking for amenities there but its fine for a night or two. |

Guy. When are you heading up? We (3) of us are heading down to sugarloaf Koa on Tuesday from plant city and spending a couple nights there. The plan is head toward daytona Thursday morning if you care to join. Or anyone for that matter, the more the better. |

Hope you all travel safe and have a great time. We had a blast a couple years back. I'm guessing it will be even better now that EBR seems to really be gaining momentum. |

Just got back from Daytona, spent Thurs thru Wed. AM with my ex business partner camping and riding a couple of his old (47 & 36) Indian chiefs around. The AMCA show and swap meet was awesome. Weather chilly but nice, after the damp Thursday. This was the last and final "Daytona Beach Bike Week" Next year it's going to be called "TRIKE Week" It's officially the end of the world as we've known it. Effing trikes. |

I thought it was called Trailer Week? In 2004, I bought a patch that said, "I rode my bike to Trailer Week", and had it stitched to my jacket. (Message edited by Crusty on March 14, 2014) |

Trikes = "the bike that feels safer after a few beers!" You don't have to remember to put your feet down when you stop, less slow speed wobble for police to see, and the side stand is nearly always down and locked in position! |

Hey guys, can't we all just get along? No one is perfect! I bet some of you have current two wheel riding family or friends that will develop balance or bum knee or other issues as they age, and want to go to three wheels in order to keep riding. Is that the right decision for them? Maybe, maybe not. Every person is different. My issue at Daytona or any other massive motorcycle event was not the trailers, the trikes, or the people riding badly with stupid gear, but the lack of discouragement to drink and ride. Just saw too much of that and in most cases there wasn't a darn thing we could do. That, and the excitement of the races was what led us to camp in the infield where we could sip on a bushmills when camp was set and we were done riding for the day. "You don't have to remember to put your feet down when you stop" Yeah and the downside of that for trike riders who used to be on two wheels is forgetting what they are on, putting their feet down and running their own foot (or feet) over when they leave the stop sign. DAMHIK (I've been the witness, not the actual rider, thank goodness.) |

I just got home. Had a great time. Stopped by and said hi to Tim (Smoke) in the garage. Good to see Guy again. Saw many cool bikes, and much good racing. Had a couple of great campfires, ate a few race dogs. Good stuff! |
