Sigh. Once again, you've been lied to. We did find WMD. We also didn't find all of them. The Russians claim they were transported to Syria right before the invasion. Iraq was not a sovereign state in 2003. Perhaps you missed the 1991 war that never ended. There was a ceasefire, the terms of which Iraq massively failed to live up to. See multiple UN resolutions, and a final one authorizing force. Again.

I vote the Brits stop incinerating the WMD we found there and instead dump them in FF's front yard. Perhaps then he'll get it.

I don't know why I bother. You won't bother to take the time to educate yourself. Just like you probably still believe McCarthy was wrong about all those commies he accused of, well, of being commies, even though I led you to the truth.

Debate those who disagree with you but possess intellectual honesty and curiosity. You will both learn something. Never argue with a troll. You will never learn anything other than you have wasted your time.

Interesting how quickly and eagerly the troll in question embraces Russion, I mean, Soviet thought and immediately blames America first.

I know FrankFred hates to be labeled Socialist or Communist, but I really wonder, where exactly do his views not align with them? Since he has started posting, he has pretty much been checking off every check box on every major issue in his agreement with the Communist view. It seems he like everything Communist except the label.

This is all you got. You've got to be kidding?

You swallowed that BS from Cheney/Bush but now let me educate you. It wasn't about WMDs and everybody except you and your mates knew it. Go back to school.

Polly would deny the poison gas as he writhes on the ground.

The Israelis reported the convoys to Syria.
The Russian General that led the plain clothes Spetsnaz troops that ran the poison gas into Syria from Iraq wrote a book. ( have not seen it on Amazon..... let me know if you find it )

Chem detectors went off in US fighting vehicles when they forded the Euphrates. First days of the liberation.

Polish troops found a bunch of mustard gas. Nice pics of them posing with them.

Brits are running the incinerator to destroy the stockpiles found. Today.

I could go on but this is just a deliberate distraction by the dishonest parrot. I wonder if it was from a seminar or if he actually read Rules For Radicals?

He did pick the parts that annoyed me. I stand by previous post. The real deal leftists are far more eloquent than the useful wannabees.

And it is NOT nice to know the rest of the planet knows The O is dishonest and useless to preserve freedom.

The "finding" of WMD isn't even the issue. Saddam actively worked at thwarting the WMD inspection teams that were sent to verify that his WMD programs were being destroyed as required by the peace agreement. At that point, the actual existence of WMDs really isn't even material. The invasion of Iraq was justified just on that.

Of course there were many other reasons also...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraq_Resolution

quote:

The resolution cited many factors to justify the use of military force against Iraq: [2][3]

Iraq's noncompliance with the conditions of the 1991 ceasefire agreement, including interference with U.N. weapons inspectors.
Iraq "continuing to possess and develop a significant chemical and biological weapons capability" and "actively seeking a nuclear weapons capability" posed a "threat to the national security of the United States and international peace and security in the Persian Gulf region."
Iraq's "brutal repression of its civilian population."
Iraq's "capability and willingness to use weapons of mass destruction against other nations and its own people".
Iraq's hostility towards the United States as demonstrated by the 1993 assassination attempt on former President George H. W. Bush and firing on coalition aircraft enforcing the no-fly zones following the 1991 Gulf War.
Members of al-Qaeda, an organization bearing responsibility for attacks on the United States, its citizens, and interests, including the attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, are known to be in Iraq.
Iraq's "continu[ing] to aid and harbor other international terrorist organizations," including anti-United States terrorist organizations.
Iraq paid bounty to families of suicide bombers.
The efforts by the Congress and the President to fight terrorists, and those who aided or harbored them.
The authorization by the Constitution and the Congress for the President to fight anti-United States terrorism.
The governments in Turkey, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia feared Saddam and wanted him removed from power.
Citing the Iraq Liberation Act of 1998, the resolution reiterated that it should be the policy of the United States to remove the Saddam Hussein regime and promote a democratic replacement.

But if you must focus on WMDs, it's really disingenuous to ignore the military convoys heading from Iraq to Syria just days before the invasion started. The single most likely thing to be contained in those convoys was WMD materials. Well, that or possibly sand. It could have been sand.

No, it wasn't. Not all of it. But that's what the left cites as the reason we resumed hostilities, and chant bush lied people died when they do so.

Bush didn't lie.

Read the rest of the article where it says the contents of the useless shells are still very much active and ripe for use by terrorists, the very threat bush cited as ONE of the reasons to resume the war.

RE: red meat. I have to agree that the shill for the Russians ( brit expat? or just happy to have the Moscow beat? ) just doesn't grasp the US political scene. Barry has no reason to throw meat to the R leadership. Unless he's going to do something incredibly stupid. Like send troops to Kiev. Then it's just to get the diseased Speaker of the House to look onboard so Barry can blame him.

It's really iffy. Barry is a man full of rage because of past wrongs and slights. Some real, some not, some he was taught by his favorite communist professors. (1) He does not respond well to disagreement. Putin obviously considers Obama a loser. Ego could drive stupid stunt. Not a prediction but a concern.

There were mistakes made post 9/11. If going into Iraq was one of them, it was one of the lesser / more forgivable ones.

The Patriot act was a big mistake though. We should not have traded liberty of the perception of security. I did not recognize that at the time but I see it now.

.... but I see it now.
I agree. I WAS against the Dept of Fatherland Security. But mostly because we didn't need another redundant police agency with power to ruin our lives. We already had enough.

At the time I favored the "palace a day club" strategy. Blow up one "palace" Saddam had every day. Most of the "palaces" were actually wmd storage and military bunkers, that were declared off limits to the UN inspectors by calling the palaces, so it's not like we'd have killed a lot of innocent servants. Alas, GWB didn't ask me, and alas, he wasn't a heartless cowboy, and alas, he listened to the people who said "you broke it, you bought it".

There was the whole "make a second democratic regime in the region and see if it messes up the other dictators" strategy. I'm convinced that might have worked, if we had pounded the Iranians & Syrians into dog meat the second we had proof they were supplying the weapons & fighters to attack the Iraqi people, and from time to time, Our troops. That was, IIRC, about a week after we liberated Iraq. But, again, they never asked me. If they had I would have started with "never start a land war in Asia" and never bet with a Sicilian ......

Anyway, none of this is germane to the thread, which is the Russians about to slaughter a bunch of Ukranians because the Ukranians didn't want to be slaves of Moscow, again, and weren't happy about being slaves of Brussels, either.

We're just discussing past issues because Polly, who is incapable of expressing his own opinion ( if indeed, he has one his masters have not told him to have ) tried to deflect the conversation as he was taught. ( by whom, I do not know, he will not tell, and I wouldn't believe him anyway...... Which sucks, because I want to go to the seminar, and get a gig trolling websites. It's a lot easier than working for a living. )

Just for amusement sake.......

Hey! FF! what is YOUR opinion on what's going on in the Ukraine?

start the pool on if he responds with

1. stock Soviet propaganda
2. refuses to answer because we are not worthy
3. tries to deflect the conversation with an irrelevant attack on Obama's enemies, that will 90% be a lie
4. tells us he won't and will never come back. ( for about 20 minutes )
5. ( LONG SHOT ) actually answers.

Since that is so unlikely I'll let someone else waste their time with the pool for the sanity or honesty of his answer.... if any.

I'm struggling to see why England and America has such a keen interest in handing over a troubled nation to a bunch of, and in some cases corrupt and criminal, billionaire oligarchs.

No doubt they'll let us know after many many innocents have died. Same as they usually do then.
