Yes, I found one in my truck yesterday. Picked it up and sent it on it's own way. Daffadils are sprouting in NC, so hopefully we'll be out of the winter funk soon. When I was young, I used to love winter. Now, it just really plays a number on my head. Lack of daylight I guess. |

latest forecast is for Cold & snow mid week, with the probability of heavy snow in the NE. ( more like wintery mix in NC ) Jetstream pulls down a big blob of subzero arctic air, and the tropical stream now across the southern US jogs up so you get a venturi effect and a low off the coast of ...... aaaaand they have to wait to see if that means a Big Snow inland or off shore. Good thing I'm not in a boat off NYC next week. Sorry, weather geek. In the local area ( "upstate" NY ) I'm thinking April spring, because of the thermal mass of frozen Great Lakes. But we're always a month behind spring & fall, compared to inland. Grumble, Grumble, got just broke in Q2's on Buttercup. ( my M2 ) Stuck in the shed for another month + .... sigh. |

Yep, probably two good blasts to remind us why we hate Winter so much and then it's riding season, whoo hoo! |

Found a stink bug in the garage today. Scooped it up and buried it in a remaining snow bank! I hate them. |

I've still got around three feet of snow near the front door (albeit from the roof rake jobs). And plenty of sand from the plows when Spring does indeed get here! In the meantime... (Message edited by two_seasons on February 22, 2014) |

Spring in Wisconsin is an elusive season. By the way, it is 10 degrees F this am! As I was saying, Spring in Wisconsin can come as early as mid-March and as late as early May. All depends on that pesky jet stream. I have lived here for 32 years now, so I'm getting used to it. Back in late June of 1975, I got caught in a pretty nasty hail storm up in southeast BC. About the size of quarters. And on May 10th 1990 in Waukesha Wisconsin we had 8 inches of snow and ice that am. Wasn't riding in that one though But I did put on my helmet yesterday , making sure it would still fit this fat head of mine. I originally had my Penske shock on the '99 set up for 190 geared up. I'm now at 210 without gear! Should I call Reading for a new spring? A lot of us up here in Wisconsin get fat over the Winter. Then, in Spring, a little less so. By Fall, we are down to fighting weight, as the mosquito's have given us several blood transfusions by then But those blood suckers are still not as bad as Ontario. Need a net to fish there , except for their 5 months of Winter too Still at 10, wind W13. High of 20 today. Almost Check this out... http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=53188 Note the lack of cars on the road...most of us that are up are still in the bars...wait, no...this is Sunday , ok later today! Orange trees, peach trees, and all the plants in my garden (that "bloom") are blooming. Was 83 yesterday, 69 this morning. It will stay warm until "Daytona weekend" then get cold as hell, most likely. |

I wait for 2 good rains after it thaws to ride. We use a LOT of salt on our roads, locally. I notice that no one can tell me when that day is, but somehow some people are certain enough to call for the deaths of those who disagree exactly what temperature it's going to be in 2100. I'm currently thinking April. I could be wrong. ( I hope I am, in one direction ) |

It's also pot hole season. I'm seeing pot holes that are over 4 feet long this season. As if that's not bad enough, you get over a hundred feet of marble like gravel after the pot hole. That takes a lot of the fun out of riding. |

Drew, we had one this past weekend, you missed it. Now it's below freezing again. I want to know why there's no wind chill factor in July? |

There is. It would just confuse people so they don't bother. Usually. Sometimes they do mention it. ( around here where sometimes it makes sense to in July. When it is in the 30s ) |

Hot dog, another blast of wintery crap from Canadia coming our way. This has been the longest cold spell I can recall. Two degrees this morning. UGH! I'm not sure if I even remember how to ride a motorcycle any more. Let's see, shift on right, one up, three down? No, that's a Norton, umm... |

Yep, single digits here too (MD). Bracing for another wintry wallop Monday. From weather.com for my town: "Monday - snow. Accumulation, 4-8 inches. Potential for significant snow accumulation." Yippee. I like snow...but unfortunately I have to spend it in traffic - driving a friend to surgery and back. Side note - any of you "well-wisher" types, please keep my friend Karen in your thoughts. I'm taking her down for a malignant cyst removal...her second round in eight years. I'm really hoping this gets it. |

Turkey Buzzards! Every spring, turkey buzzard invade the local burg about 1/2 a mile away from my house. They are back.... But this year they are in the pines just to west of my house.... no big deal... I come home today to find about 30 to 40 of 'em sitting on the ridge of my house crapping all over my roof. 20 gauge in hand.... 1 pop and I hope that is enough to keep them away. and lets not forget the foot of snow coming Sunday evening to Monday morning.
