Signed up with Club Frontier Forum friday night but apparently they must be slow to activate new users.

Found this one nearby:

If anyone on here is familiar with these trucks, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I own a 2004 Frontier that i bought new in 2004. It's a 2WD with a 4 cylinder and a 5 speed. I have 102,000 miles on it now. The only things I've replaced so far are the front brakes and the fan belts...along with 2 sets of tires, oil, filters etc. It never misses a beat.

Cool - good to hear. Im in love with its looks. This one is a straight drive (what i want) and i read on the frontier forum to check for signs of main-seal leaks. Not that that was listed as a common issue but an oil leak in that area will toast the clutch in short order. I think I may check it out this week.
My pops tried to tell me that the price was too high for a ten year old vehicle, but based on my comparison shopping it seems to be fair.

20000 XE V6 w/auto trans, 4 door here. 147K miles.
I got it 8 years ago w/89K on the odo.
So far, replaced: brakes (obviously), radiator (cheap replacement, did it myself.) A/C fan speed controller. (One transistorized card-cheap fix, did it myself.
Rocker cover oil leak RHS. (Tightened a few screws & nada since)
No other problems.
17.5 MPG.
I love this truck & will buy another when this one croaks.

I picked up a 2007 2WD V6 Crew Cab w/ a long bed. Difficult truck to find - dealer told me they make 30 short bed to every 1 long bed for a limited production run that usually ends around September each year. Those that have 'em, don't want to sell 'em.

I love the truck. Well designed. Storage beneath the rear seat and the tie-down rack system in the bed makes securing a motorcycle or anything else a cinch. I seem to get the same 17 mpg regardless of if it's loaded down, pulling a trailer, or just commuting w/ me.

So far, only issue I've encountered was a faulty fuel level sending unit that made the fuel gauge behave incorrectly.

The only thing I'd say about the one you've linked is that there was a body design change w/ the 2005 model year that adds a few inches to the rear seat and makes a big difference. For me - w/ two kids coming into their teenage years - it was definitely worth looking for the newer year model.

Good trucks. Good luck.

Thanks for the input fellas. I'm thinking I might go check it out sometime this week. Maybe shoot him a not too unreasonable offer and see what he says. He said in the listing something about it already being at wholesale price so I'm thinking he probably won't budge on the $8995.
