Please refer to Pausesnores comments regarding his employees and his lack of respect for them. I can't help it now. Was my lack of respect shown when I was on the dock in the freezing cold helping him do his labor job? Or was it when I pointed out that I pay him $15 per hour when comparable (actually harder) jobs pay $9.50? I did point out that some of my employees do not own up to their mistakes. Was that lack of respect? Or is it less than respectful for a gainfully employed individual to hurt the business that puts food on his family's table by lying about or denying responsibility for errors he has made? Nope. Like a true liberal idiot (less than useful in my opinion) FFF cannot read and comprehend things, keeping in context what is being said. He reads between his own lines, drawing in the twisted fantasy of a utopia where everyone is equal. GUESS WHAT. No man is equal to the next man. Some men are greater than others. Obama says the recession ended 3-1/2 years ago . . . yet unemployment continues at record levels, workforce participation has plummeted, there are more folks in poverty, more folks on food stamps and . . with the advent of Obamacare . . . millions, who once had health insurance, find themselves with no insurance. Obama is sporting the worst poll numbers, even among the most liberal of pollsters and seems to have turned a corner, heading down, as it became more and more apparent that he was continually lying to the very people who elected him. I've really got no dog in this fight anymore. I've opted for a bit of a protected personal position but I feel sorry for some poor SOB making like $70K a year and finding themselves right in the cross hairs of the very group this administration is decimating. As a President and a "leader" Obama has proven himself incompetent. As a leader of the most powerful nation on Earth . . . he's becoming a laughing stock. It's a bit of a shame. I think the American people deserve far better. | ||

Jobs, dear friend, can not be "bought". Disincentives . . . for example onerous regulations (like the ones HHS is currently promulgating), high minimum wages (which allow less workers to be hired from a fixed pool budgeted for labor) and government dabbling in places it traditionally, under both parties, has proven itself incompetent (think Solydra and General Motors). Jobs . . . as we enter the 5th years of really being on the skids . . . will be created when employers are once again incented to growth rather than to seek a defensive position. It was telling when Obama, in January 2011, appointed Jeffery Immelt, CEO of General Electric, to head the President's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness. You do your own looking and see how General Electric has performed in bringing jobs back to America. The fact of the matter is . . . the current Congress and Executive branch of government are pretty much a collection of babbling amateurs when it comes to business, economic growth and job creation. They really are an embarrassment and what a shame, for the first time, to see more than 50% of Congress millionaires as, under Obama, the income gap widens at the fastest rate in history. By the way . . . these private insurers you speak of will be the subject of perhaps the largest bailout in history during the next 18 months. Worry not about "if" it will happen . . . it's written right there in that law we had to "pass to know what's in it". The feds, with so few young healthy folks signing up (it needed to be about 2 young healthy to 1 old ill to work actuarially) blew it. young folks, healthy as rats as are my 30 somethings (one a VP of a national health insurance company as a matter of full disclosure) are fleeing from Obamacare. Their attitude . . . and it makes sense . . is that will the pre-existing condition provisions . . they'll sign up if and when they get sick and need it . . till then . . it's penalty baby. Be mindful that there is at least one state wherein not a single soul has signed up yet (website still screwed up) and the disaster continues to worsen. My personal health insurance . . which pretty much kicks ass and is affordable . . , will lily be tanked this year when the employer mandate kicks in as it will not pay for me to have a baby if I get pregnant. You can't make up the stupid shit these clowns have tried to foist upon the American people. | ||

Realizing that you will never admit that trickle down economics has failed, let me give you a first hand example how jobs programs work. For the last three years I have been fortunate to supervise a rather large construction project, completely financed by stimulus money from the federal government. As a result I've been able to purchase a new Chevy pickup and do extensive renovations on my house (courtesy of Home Depot and Lowes). Make money, spend money. FDR knew how to get out of the mess (Hoover didn't) and so does Obama. Provide decent employment and things will work out, from the bottom up. | ||
