I read today that Fiat will be purchasing the remainder of Chrysler

My complaint is the poor economy.

If you go easy on the throttle, decent economy can be had.

I average 15.5mpg in the city and longer trips see 19-20mpg on the highway.

Keep it under 65mph, and under 2000rpm.

Is that in your Ford Monstrosity Pwnzor?
I've seen a few of them, they look like a blinged hearse to me, but extremely practical, & I do actually like the look of them nonetheless.

I can think of many vehicles that would be just what the doctor ordered for Aesquire, but you don't get them over there.
What about a Honda FRV?

The mileage I quoted is in my E350 cargo van:

I think the "monstrosity" you were referring to was my wife's Flex

They both get approximately the same mileage, but the Flex actually has a lot more power.

The FIAT buyout may well accelerate new models arriving over there.

The 2nd gen FIAT Doblo is supposed to be coming this year or next as the Ram ProMaster City.
If you can get a diesel one with the 2.0jtdm & a manual box, a remap will pull it out to over 160hp.

Still loving my '07 CRD with 75,000 carefree miles. Other than regular maintenance (Amsoil fluids & new tires at 70K) the only expenditures have been replacing two glow pugs ($100). Lowest average mileage ever recorded was 18.1 mpg heading to Road Atlanta (uphill) running 77-80 mph pulling extra-height flat-front enclosed trailer with three bikes and fully loaded for a four day race weekend. Hands-down the best vehicle I've ever owned (over 40 in the past 30+ years) and I've definitely gotten my money's worth- all $26,400 I spent at the dealership back in the dark days of early 2008...

Mr. Grumpy, that FRV is nice. If I could get a current UK Caravan, I'd be happy.

My last Van was a Ford conversion van with a tired 4.6L, it's still running, It went to a good home. The rest of the Vans I've owned were Dodge from '76 to the 90's, when the idiots quit making it. Favorite by far was the '76 Shorty with the slant six and three on the tree. All were much lighter, and I did really stupid stuff with all of them. Glider chasing is an Ultimate Risk Sport. Driving up mountains with a van and then racing downwind to keep up.. and gliders fly like crows. Roads don't. What I wanted then was a diesel 4x4 van... but a Grand Caravan sized space is all I really need today.

With maybe a trailer....

Or maybe a used Liberty CRD? Have to check craigslist.... they weren't available in Ny...

Careful on the Liberty CRD...they did have some fueling issues. Easy enough fix...but can get $$ depending on what the extent of the failure is.

The Liberty is a great truck - we got one for my then-not-ex-wife, with a 3.7 gas engine. Solid little bugger, great 4x4...STUPID window switch placement (center console).

And the ProMaster Ram is showing up at dealers now. Gas only just yet...but diesel is coming, I'm sure. The diesel Ram 1500 should be hitting soon, too.

According to what I've been reading Ram 1500 with the 3.0 VM diesels are already in production & delivery starting within the next couple of weeks.
