No but my nephew was in the main one in Brittany.

I'm not going to revisit the French politics thread, suffice to say I saw this coming & it's going to get worse before it gets better.

The representative of the French hauliers association was on the news the other day & was asked if he'd condemn the degradation of radars & gantries etc, he replied that of course he did, though he understood entirely the frustration of those who'd done it.

He then talked down the interviewer who was trying to push the government line & addressed the camera direct to say that if the government continued to ignore the industry they would join the protest on a national level & it wouldn't be just a half day outing & a picnic, it would be a nationwide stoppage of road transport for a week minimum.

Powerful stuff, current gov is incompetent & the pres is worse.

I know so many people that now admit that they voted for him to get rid of Sarkozy, (who in my opinion was doing a decent job), & now regret having done so. Many of them former dyed-in-the-wool socialist voters.

I just hope my visa for Canada comes through sooner rather than later, it feels like running away, but I feel it's the best for me & my family.
Mrs G & I can't help feeling that if we stay we're just going to be bled dry til we're retired in poverty.

Canada? I'm looking for an expert on large trucks here in Cleveland, which isn't too far from Canada... It's a desk job though. I'll let you shoot my guns and ride my bikes until you're established.

Somehow, Grumps without a Tonka toy doesn't seem right. Can't see him driving a desk in Cleveland. Or anywhere else for that matter. Have you met Mademoiselle Grumps?

She's a lovely lady : )

That's the deal breaker I'm afraid, they don't speak much French in Cleveland, I tried to get her interested in Louisiana but no go.

Tempting offer though James, would you run to a corporate box at The Jake? (I can't bring myself to call it Progressive Field)
