who are you buying them from? checkout wholesale solar. I just installed a 26 panel array on my roof with power optimizers. Since April i have massed a 416$ credit with the power company. |

this is a very broad question you have asked. What are some more details of what you want to install? |

Rob Check Out Home Power magazine The inverter world is changing since BP and Shell are selling or have sold of their Solar Power divisions Reason its not or never going to turn a profit. Both built good hardware but its a boutique market and solar fan boys keep prices too high for mass market. |

IIRC there is a pretty cool outfit here in South Knoxville that works on residential/small biz scale, there was a very neat article on them in the local weekly rag Metropulse, might look up the piece in their archives. Google search with "Vestal" or "Knoxville" and see what you find... |

this is a very broad question you have asked. What are some more details of what you want to install? Well it's a basic rooftop, grid tied, residential install with a minor shade issue. There are arguments to support either micro inverters (Enphase seems to be preferred), or power optimizers (Solar Edge looks best). Micro inverters seem like lower initial cost on a small system, but may be higher maintenance over time. Power optimizers might cost slightly more initially, but lower maintenance. Just wondering if anyone has any unbiased, real world experience. I do not plan on doing this myself. I think my time of spending days on the roof, in the sun, is passed. |

Partial shade issue.. if not DIY, the installers should do a solar evaluation for impact of shading on the roof area. |
