This is where Resident Whiff gets a large dose of his power. The Republicans with the exception of Cruz, Paul, Lee, and other Conservatives, are nothing more than the Democratic Party light.

Ted Cruz has just entered hour 20 of his fight against Obamacare. McCain, Rove, Krauthammer are trying to eviscerate him politically. All I see is Cruz fighting for me and all Americans. Ronald Reagan was despised by the Republican Party in the 70s before he became the greatest president of the twentieth century. Is Cruz the next great President?

Patches: I am guessing you are a Ron Paul supporter? Explain IT to Me so I CAN Understand.

Aesquire ... I wasn't partly / Largely incorrect. You have your take on it but that doesn't make it fact. The push to get homeownership to lower income groups was about many things but the fundamental aspect was that home ownership provides a solid foundation for the family and helps to build equity and therefor movement up the income ladder. The other parts you mention are just offshoots of that.

And every single piece of legislation passed or program adopted to a certain extent is about purchasing votes.

The graphic I posted earlier showing deficit spending only tells part of the story. A bigger part is how able are we to pay off the debt we have. You gauge that, largely based on the debt to GDP ratio. We've never seen that ratio so high, other than when we were literally fighting for our very survival. One big difference though. When we won our survival, the deficit spending largely stopped and the economy thrived. There is no proposed end to BO's spending. He's creating an economy that is totally dependent on this spending. It's going to be one hell of a hangover when BO leaves office.

BTW, we are currently over 106% debt to GDP.

I astounds me how small the improvements in America's infrastructure have resulted by Obama's spending. Obama squandered the money on unions, political cronies, and the likes of Solyndra. Obama's lies were exposed when he later claimed that there "were no shovel ready jobs."

During the Depression, we got the TVA and the Hoover Dam.

A nation can not survive with this kind of spending.

During the depression, we got many things that are still around. Some good, some, not so much. BO's push on building "infrastructure" has at best, pushed basic maintenance forward by a very few years. That maintenance having been done, will simply allow for ignoring infrastructure a bit more in the next few years to save maintenance cost. Unaffordable health care is likely to be the only real long lasting accomplishment by BO. We need a leader. BO is not a leader.

What should we think of a person who feels the need to flat out lie about how long he has been off cigarettes, or feels the need to create fake twitter followers? This is not a leader of men. This is the emperor who had no clothes.

I fear we are at a point of no return. Government has grown so big that there is no real way to reign it in without fundamental reform that will never happen with the politicians all trying to protect their piece of the pie. It's like a bacteria that was created to fight off some infection that has grown out of control and is now consuming the host.

It astounds me that when politicians talk about not increasing the budget they are really talking about not increasing it over the automatic increases that are already built in. Since almost every government agency gets automatic increases to their budget EVERY year ... I think at 3%. Politicians can't even be honest about. And then you have Pilosi who says with a straight face that there is no where left in the budget to cut anything. Are you f'n kidding me?!?!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0t3CimZ4cI

Seriously, unless we throw everyone in Washington out on their butt, I am afraid we are toast.

Before kickstands up to Laguna Seca, enjoy.

I love Ted Cruz and he will make a GREAT President of the United States someday. It took Ronald Reagan sixteen years after he stood up at the 1964 Republican Convention.

This Little Man is bankrupting America.

Where is our leadership. Is this a Happy Face 1938 moment?

I am interested in thoughtful discussion

In office after office the tv has the Prez lying about Obamacare. Carefully lying, but a lie is still a lie.

"lower costs...... than expected."

Not what YOU expected, but NEXT years expectation of costs from the CBO. Real world? Two to three times as expensive as you pay today.

When every sentence has a microdot of accuracy, and a train load of lies, it's still a lie, and the Prez will always point out the partial truth to justify all the rest. He's not the only one that does that, and the only way to cut back on that is to call them on it, and when they weasel, scorn them. It is a honor to be escorted away from a politician. Be nice to the policeman. Be rude to the Public Servants that imagine they are Your Lords.

Talking to people, otherwise smart and really intelligent people, and I hear the mantra of the day. "The R's want anarchy" "The R's want to shutdown the government" "The R's want to kill old folk and children"....

All these parroted quotes come from the Administration's strategists, is fed through D congresscritters and staffers, and read, very earnestly and with great conviction by the pretty/handsome folk who are professional camera talkers to. Over and over and over 24 hours a day twice an hour until the suns go out and we all have passed into dust.

Here's today's.

http://washington.cbslocal.com/2013/09/29/shutdown -showdown-intensifies-with-obamacare-delay/

“Your hate for this president is coming before your love of this country,” said Rep. David Scott, D-Ga. “Because if you love this country you would not be closing it down.”

So, todays mantra is "The R's hate Obama so much"..... "they will shut the government down because they hate Obama so much"... or some combination of these words, carefully planned for maximum impact. If you watch MSNBC & CNN whatever one you hear on both will probably be what you hear on all.

Monday, of course there will be a new phrase for maximum propaganda effect, and every "media" outlet will parrot it.

I bet you $100. Cash.

I haven't seen this kind of parroting since the Old Soviet Union had the quaint habit of sending journalists to psychiatric hospitals for treatment when they didn't do so. AFAIK, the Obama minions just tap your phone, hack your computer, sic the IRS on you, and spread evil rumors about you. So far. The century is young, and Obamacare hasn't fully kicked in. Forced psychiatric care may be coming soon.

I don't know what "strategy" the R's should employ to attempt "Change" in the current trend to Crony Fascism by the Obama Forever Campaign. ( which you can still donate to! I don't know if you can still get mass amounts of taxpayer money for your bribes, but that's the way to bet )

Current R ploy is to give the Glorious leader funding for Obamadontcare but forbid the Congress & staffers from getting a bailout on it.

There was a bill to take away the illegal payments that would insulate Congressional staffs from Obamamywayorthehighwaycare, which would have cost the staffers a lot of money. ( they all make far more than almost all of us, it's good to be the Kings' minions )

BUT the attempt is being fought by a bill to strip funding only from the staffers of the R politicians trying to stop the illegal taxpayer funding of Staffer's health care.

So petty and vindictive it's astounding. ( not unprecedented, just boldly childish )

It's going to get worse.

We should start a contest for "mantra of the day" and see who gets it first.

The French academician, Jean d'Ormesson has coined a new word in French, INAPTOCRATIE.

Here's a rough translation.

INAPTOCRACY: a system of government where the least capable of governing are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the other members of the least likely to sustain themselves or succeed society, are rewarded with goods and services that were paid for by the confiscation of wealth from a steadily declining number of producers .

Sound familiar to you?

Wow.

There are a few points of actual fact in there, for example, the politicians ARE idiots, the Power Grid is very vulnerable, and Barry lies.

I have a real hard time buying the Chemtrails, GM food conspiracies, and the typical belief that the Jews are in charge of your propaganda.

You might consider going to a less crazy news source. I have to admit, he's pulled together nearly every conspiracy and mixed them well with factual government abuse of power.

Any thoughts on my question about "Bush policies"?

In an ironic twist, the R's complained that this movie would be a propaganda piece and campaign ad for Hillary.

The D's complain that they will be destroyed/lose access/lose any chance at future jobs if they tell the truth about her at all, so go away.

There is, I admit, a long history of vindictive action by the Clintons, not even counting any "suicides" they've left behind in their careers.

Wait! What? No free health care?

Obamacare Website Quietly Deletes Reference to 'Free Health Care'

I know many young folks voted for this turd based on the idea of "free health care". I knew it was a lie at the time. Many people got suckered in. Now these young people are about to find that they not only aren't getting free health care, but as young healthy people, they are expected to pay greatly inflated insurance rates to offset the cost to others in the system. I don't think most of them even know how they've been snookered yet.
