Well, I just finished looking around on the website, and the camping looks to be all locked up- unless, of course, one knows someone. If I can arrange to have my work covered, I'll be heading that way. Obviously it's a little late in the planning, but... I've not had a good, longish distance ride, plus camping, in a while. I've ALWAYS wanted to make it to Barber for this event. My new steed, a '77 R/75/7, seems to be just hollering/purring at me to go. All I have to do is follow TN/GA/AL 411 from my house until I make it to Leeds. HEYYY, VERN!!!!! Whomever else on BW who may be going, or know someone's uncle/brother/aunt/good buddy, holler back at me. I'd prefer to camp on the grounds at Barber, but I'd consider other worthy options too, as long as they're as local as can be, and not too draining on the $$$. Oak mountain is not too far away, and a nice state park. I live 20 minutes from Barbers, so if you need anything give me a buzz. I have tools and a truck. | ||

first year i rode up i tent camped in the parking lot after the races. don't know about this year as i'll be sleeping in the paddock with the bikes. tim | ||

Thanks for the tip, Malott- I'm hoping to do enough networking to find a spot AT Barber to pitch the tent... Of course everything depends on whether I can get freed up at work. Wish me luck! | ||

Good news- I ran into a couple of good buddies, those who run the D/S biz in town- I might convoy with them down either on 10/10 or 10/11. I'm kinda surprised so few here are gunning to make it down. Hope to make it, and hope to see some of the good folk here there! | ||

"Hwaaa Hwaaaaa...." Debbie Downer sez I won't be going. As it turns out, a couple of other folks are taking off already, and our staff is so small that more than one person gone on any given day would not do. Oh well. There will be next year, and hopefully I can get my plans in place a lot sooner than I attempted this year. Good news is that our "Foothills Fall Festival" is that weekend, and I can hear some seriously good music acts from my house. C'est la vie... if anyone here ends up going, post pics! | ||
