I sold my XB today. I rode her for the last time Sunday. I have been fighting COPD for some time now, and recently have developed Rheumatoid arthritis in both feet. I had to peel off and go home on the last ride after only 4 hours of twisty fun. I could barely walk.

I am encouraging the new owner to come here for help and advice. He is a bright young man that drag races an SRT4 that runs mid 10's.

And of course, like many others that are technically no longer "Buellers" I will still be here, but my "next" bike will most likely have floorboards of some type and a more upright seating position.

In the meanwhile, I ride the mighty Elite 110. I may have a spare accessory or two to sell. If so, I will post up in the for sale section.

Harry - I took the plunge a couple months ago - traded my beloved M2 on a road king. I'm approaching 50 yo and the ol' cyclone was just beating me up on long rides. the RK is a wonderful machine, although a bit different and takes some time to get readjusted. I never thought I would have a bike that I would like more than the M2 but this one is quickly approaching that level - it does everything well except go really fast, which I have no interest in anymore anyway.

A Maxi Scooter is a real possibility. Jaimec has a T-Max. One of my old riding buddies who usually rides his XZ14 can ride his 650 Burgman amazingly well if the ZX is in the shop. I have had the little Honda for a couple of years now, and it is my go-to for short hops and shopping.

In a lot of ways, it has at least as big a grin factor as the XB, only in a different environment. I can go across town in half the time it takes in my truck. My biggest problem is dragging the side stand on left turns : ).

Sorry to see the XB go but you've gotta do what's right for you.
Scooters can be crazy fun (just ask any British "Mod").
Good luck for the future & don't be a stranger! : )

Yeah, I'm Buell-less now too, sometimes it gets me down- but then, the bike I have now is a '77 R75/7... handles pretty nicely, plus tons of kewl.
The GF and I rode it out to Kingsport TN Sunday, great ride, but she said her pillion was worse than my old Shovelhead! Guess I'll be finding a fix for that...

Fast, check in with Barker too, he's a scooter-head now. If I found the right one, I'd grab it for around town stuff. There's a guy down in Copper Basin TN who posts up on CL with nice vintage MC's, sometimes scooter types too.

She just rolled away. Now my scooter gets more love.

Harry,

So how long will it be before you tear into the scooter for some performance upgrades?

Sorry to hear not feeling 100%

Not much to do the the scooter. I did put the largest rear tire on that would clear the swingarm. Now it will run an honest 55 MPH before going on the rev limiter. : )

Saw a 2006 250 Ninja this morning with only 4,427 miles on it. Sign said 1,700 dollars.

Not trashed or squidded up. Pretty good looking little bike. Owner came out and we talked. 1,400 later, I own a proverbial barrel full of monkeys. I have a new set of Pirelli Sport Demons on the way, and it gets new fluids n stuff tomorrow.

I had forgotten what it was like to turn the throttle wide open and bang gears at 12K. It is amazingly quick for a 250.

It has to hold me over until we have the EBR 450s.

Oooohhh!

There are quite a few track leagues for those ninja 250's, from what I hear...
