There won't be any impeachment hearings. As the late, great FB1 once said, "Congress is feckless." Lil'Bama is free to ignore the laws that Congress passes and make his own laws when the king's fancy is tickled.

Democrats simply do not have a spine and they are now becoming afraid of Queen Hillary. BTW, most Republicans emit a fetid odor too, just not quite as bad.

Interesting editorial in today's WSJ.

WSJ: Support Al Sisi

Lil'Bama has consistently done the wrong thing about Egypt.
*Cairo apology tour.
*Throw Mubarek under the bus.
*Support the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood.
*Give aid to Muslim Brotherhood.
*Not support the overthrow of the burgeoning theocracy.
*Cancel military exercise.
*Secretly withhold Egypt aid (although the WH is denying this as of this writing)
*Not condemn the destruction of 50 Christian churches by the terrorists.

All Lil'Bama is accomplishing is driving Egypt to Russia. The Saudi Kingdom and the Gulf States will correctly make up for any missing US aid. Net result? The United States will have zero influence in Egypt in detriment to our interests.

This Most Glorious and Exalted and Wonderful of all Presidents should be given the boot....but he won't. However, Queen Hillary will neuter him.

I caught a photo journal of a coptic church being vandalized, the MB are thugs, they are the sharptons and jacksons of their locals.

I am come to the conclusion the populace of Egypt would be better off with the military governor, than the MB strong man, or the previous MIC. its a choice our actions are obamas'

The "present" vote.

Hillary in the WH is the beginning of the end.

Johnson was probably the beginning of the end.

Dear Leader is probably The End.

Shrill gets what's left of the country as a lovely parting gift for lying about Benghazi. No, she wasn't at all convincing, but she sure was persistent.

And for that, perhaps she'll be our next president.

Or dictator.

Or empress.

Or queen.

Or whatever we call the dear leader in USAv2.

I can't say what I really want to say. Shame, that.

I'll say this: The Founders would have declared their independence from 0bama long ago.

As the late, great FB1 once said, "Congress is feckless."

Often late, seldom great.

Not all of Congress is feckless, but enough are. Makes you wonder why.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: If a US president can get away with what Dear Leader is getting away with, i.e., if he finishes out his second term and gets to retire with all the glory and fame typically afforded former US presidents, if he suffers NO punishment whatsoever for the deliberate damage he's done to this country...

...we are officially done.

Back to lurk.

Not a peep out of Wonderful's pie hole about the persecution of Christians and burning of churches by the Muslim Brotherhood. Welcome to Egyptian Kristalnacht.

Did you know that Obama killed Osama bin Laden, Al Queda is on the run, and GM is alive? I am impressed. A well deserved round of golf, Lil'.

Just How Corrupt Is the Obama Administration?
Is there anyone with the guts to take on the White House?

By Arnold Ahlert · August 20, 2013

Scandal after scandal, coupled with an ongoing contempt for the law and the Constitution, demonstrated by high-level officials and the president himself, point to one deeply troubling conclusion: the Obama administration may be the most corrupt administration ever inflicted on the American public. And while the mainstream media have done a remarkable job deflecting much of that reality, even they cannot keep up with the avalanche of disturbing revelations that arise, seemingly on a daily basis.

We begin with[...]

...However, the President is not the only target of citizen ire for lack of effective response to Islamic extremist terror activities. Speaker of the House John Boehner has constituents so unhappy with the scale of the Congressional investigation into the Benghazi attack last year that they have put up some very dramatic billboards:

Billboards demanding a Watergate-style committee to investigate Benghazi have gone up in House Speaker John Boehner’s (R., Ohio) district, with the organizers contending he’s the man standing in the way of getting answers to the terrorist attack.

“We know this is a bold step, and it may raise some well-coiffed hairs on the back of John Boehner’s neck,” Larry Bailey, Capt. (SEAL), U.S. Navy (Ret.), and cofounder of Special Operations Speaks (SOS), a veterans group running the billboards, said in a press release.

“But the fact is that, he, and he alone, is blocking a full-scale Watergate-style investigation of one of the deadliest scandals in U.S. history—a scandal that reaches into the inner sanctum of the Oval Office,” Bailey said.

NYS Thruway shut down. President visits upscale restaurant in Rochester NY. ( passing through from Buffalo to Syracuse on his armored Canadian built super bus, we bought him ) Making campaign speeches for his next project, Obamacare for Colleges. I guess they aren't as PC as he wants. Since he nationalized Student Loans....I suppose this was inevitable.

SS came through, made people on porches go hide inside. Can't have those revolting peasants in plain view.

This really comes as no surprise:

People Fleeing Democrat-Led States for Republican Ones In Droves

A new report from the nonprofit Tax Foundation shows people moving out of the state during the last decade took $45.6 billion in personal income from New York’s economy, the most in the nation.

The Washington, D.C.-based foundation says its calculations and map showing migration among states from 2000 to 2010 are based on Internal Revenue Service data. They show California the second-largest income loser, down $29.4 billion, followed by Illinois, down $20.4 billion.

The nonpartisan foundation says Florida had the biggest gain at $67.3 billion, followed by Arizona at $17.7 billion and Texas at $17.6 billion.

Sen. Coburn: Obama ‘perilously close’ to impeachment
By Jonathan Easley - 08/22/13 05:54 PM ET

Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) said Wednesday that President Obama was getting “perilously close” to being impeached.

“I think those are serious things, but we’re in serious times,” Coburn at a town-hall meeting in his home state in response to a constituent question about impeachment. “I don’t have the legal background to know if that rises to high crimes and misdemeanors, but I think you’re getting perilously close.”

Coburn didn’t get into specifics of Obama’s perceived transgressions but said the president has abused executive privileges with "loose interpretation" and “lawlessness.”

...Coburn is at least the third lawmaker to raise Obama’s potential impeachment in meeting with constituents this month. Rep. Kerry Bentivolio (R-Mich.) this week said he's consulted with lawyers about impeaching the president, which he said “would be a dream come true,” and Rep. Blake Farenthold (R-Texas) said House Republicans have enough votes to move forward with a potential impeachment.

If the Republican's get a majority in both the House and Senate after the 2014 Elections, I would not be surprised if the push forward on Impeachment. Still, even if they get those majorities, I doubt it has any chance of succeeding.

Is this travesty, Lil'Bama's fault? Let's do a familiar gedanken experiment. What if the racist website run by the DHS employee was White Supremacist? Would the DOJ be all over it for hate crime by a government employee? This government is totally out of control and Dear Leader is responsible but not accountable. Pathetic.

I expect impeachment AND charges..

the health care act should be a wake up call to all but the most dense,

I guess I should have been more clear ... although I do think they will win the majority in the senate ... there is no way they get to 67 seats. Which means they would need Democrats to vote in favor of conviction for Impeachment. Which means there is no way Obama gets Impeached.

Reindog, love that last 'toon.

I do have to comment that your calling our Glorious Leader " Lil' Bama " is very disrespectful. Some people would interpret that as a racist crack. It's not my place to censor your speech. I do want to point out that calling Barry the Weasel names like that can get your views discounted as those of an extremist, racist homophobe.

We must be careful what we call The Anointed One to avoid triggering the hate reflex of lefty loons and their overdeveloped sense of self worth. Pointing out their ignorance of reality as they gulp down the koolaid of demonic religious fervor and Mob Rule ( progressivism ) is often enough to enrage them alone, but using insulting slang for their Golden Calf Idols could lead to violence.

Not saying nothing, just saying.

On a lighter note, Obama is asking for more proof on the Syrian Alleged Poison Gas Attacks. The Syrian gov. claims the rebels have poison gas in their tunnels, and that Syria didn't gas anyone, it's all lies from the Islamist jihadi.

I don't know the facts here. It seems to me that assistance to the rebels back when they were freedom fighters would have helped us keep the Jihadi out of power.

At this point it looks like opposing Assad means helping AQ. I'd rather the evil eye doctor be in charge than Hamas.

I had serious questions about supporting the rebels from the beginning, now my misgivings are huge, and I don't know how much gun running illegal aid we've already given them.

Opinion?

We have a number of comments on recent posts, and they seem relevant. Meanwhile the Mamelukes have released their retired Grand Master Mubarak although he remains technically under house arrest, but attended by loyal orderlies and guards. Nothing unexpected. Keeping the loyalty of the troops is important, and disrespect to the aging pharaoh is now way to insure that loyalty and respect.

There are more stories of chemical weapons used in Syria. I find them utterly unconvincing. The evidence for actual use of chemical weapons is not clear, and even if it were incontrovertible I would be more inclined to suspect false flag operations than sudden senility in Bashar Al-Assad. If the second Iraqi war taught anything it was that having weapons of mass destruction is not going to help a dictator achieve a long and tranquil life or secure retirement. War gasses aren’t as effective in the real world as they are in literature: one reason for the horror associated with The Great War war gasses is that so many survived for a long life afterwards and could tell their stories. Of course modern war gasses like VX and Soman are far more effective, so we combine the remembered horror of the survivors with the modern fatalities. Saddam Hussein used war gasses during the 1990’s after the First Gulf War, and the threat that he had them and would used them was a major factor in the US decision to intervene after 9/11. It was reasonable to suppose that Saddam had war gasses: his own generals were convinced that he had them (that was one of Saddam’s means for controlling them). MI-6 certainly purported to believe they existed.

They turned out to be non-existent, but the lesson was plain for all to see, and Bashar Assad certainly saw it. He has many good reasons to convince the world he does not have any WMD’s, and no real incentive to have or use them.

The Arab Summer continues.

Jerry Pournelle.
http://www.jerrypournelle.com/chaosmanor/?p=15070

Should we start an "Arab Winter" thread?

I mean, yes, this stuff does concern the foreign policy debacle that is the Obama Administration, but there's a couple of civil wars ongoing, lots of people are getting killed, and it might merit discussion absent the emotional context of Barry and his Most Transparent self.

Obama is a puny little man, an insignificant tiny little man, who has done nothing but be a disgrace to our nation. There is not a country in this world who respects the United States while this wisp blathers about red lines, grovels to Putin about having flexibility after his re-election, abandons brave Americans in Benghazi while he gets a good nights sleep for his precious Las Vegas campaign, wink-wink nudges the IRS to attack his political enemies, balkanizes the American People into a hateful little fiefdoms, fails to show even the tiniest modicum of Leadership in attempting to unify the branches of government, refuses to acknowledge the atrocities against Christians in Egypt, magnifies the power of the IRS by calling it "health care", destroys the future of young people especially minorities, by making them part timers, runs cover for his racist Attorney General, blames everyone else in the world for his transgressions ala Bob Filner, creates Sequestration while taking a completely unnecessary $100M trip to Africa, vacations with his millionaire and billionaire buddies while publicly deriding them. I am just getting started.

No, this is not a racist thing. Far from it. He is a little man, a puny man, hence the name Lil'Bama. Soon he will be neutered by the Clinton War Machine which hates his guts and has an axe to grind.
