Some offer insight and wisdom while others offer miserable gossip aiming to pollute the well. Be insightful and wise. Avoid gossip and pollution.
I know the character and integrity of Erik Buell. That's all I need to know. I'd work for him in a heartbeat if I had any inclination to move to Wisconsin.
HR sucks that in part is why nobody knows how to do a GODDAMMED thing anywhere anymore period. Don't believe me try dealing with any insurance company health, auto, life, business it doesn't matter. Then go to the hospital for something or maybe call a utility co. Nah you can keep all that crap, I see what the dealer mechanics in the forklift industry do they are mostly entry level HR hires that shop everything cause they don't know anything. I only use small business and when I HAVE TO I use corp. otherwise I have no interest. Sorry.
No Brian, I live in TX. How is that germane to the conversation about HR and resumes? Was the rest of your post directed towards me? If so, please elaborate, because I'm not getting your point.
I've had 4 jobs in my life. Only dealt with one HR person (my last employer.) As, I already had the job, it was but a formality to officially receive the "job offer" from the company.
it is the EXACT same kernal of poor performance that is central to the current intelligence efforts.
SO much data, SO many sources, SO much flow - and really access is damn near a waterfall of streams of data..... but - since it is primarily reliant on technology sourcings - it doesn't get analyzed for indications and warnings, there is not a dedicated emphasis on actual source / contact / human investigations and because of that - there is a wide swath of potential (threat) that is being missed
I have at every instance - targeted that lack; and done well doing it. However - if I can't have a conversation with a real person and one of knowledge, access, and authority; I might as well go urinate into the wind - it would have a better chance of getting through the black hole of data through the HR Widgets.
PS - how many HR generalists..... or even industry sector recruiters - have read and understand the Health Care bill ?.......
If you don't know the subject matter - you shouldn't be in a position to screen 'talent'.
so glad to be heading back to motorcycles; I can put the insurance models on Dark mode, and create havoc with greater anonymity
I do hope for a new EBR model - Harley Davidson has announced the final death knell of the XR1200X for domestic Markets.... it is still up in the air if Brazil and India will continue to get them; should know in a week. (India still has the XL883R - that we haven't had in half a decade)

Which was (still is) the case with the company I last hired into over 25 years ago. Had I done a frontal assault on the HR office with an application and resume. I would have never been hired. (they would have kicked me out, based on my salary history alone.)
