Due north of the center we find the South End.

There are two State Houses, two City Halls, two courthouses, and two Hancock buildings (one is very old; one is relatively new).

The colored lights on top the old Hancock tells the weatha:

"Solid blue, clear view."

"Flashing blue, clouds due."

"Solid red, rain ahead."

"Flashing red, snow instead." (except in summer, flashing red means the Red Sox game was rained out!

The bridge connecting Boston and Cambridge via Massachusetts Avenue is commonly known as the Harvard Bridge. When it was built, the state offered to name the bridge for the Cambridge school that could present the best claim for the honor. Harvard submitted an essay detailing its contributions to education in America, concluding that it deserved the honor of having a bridge leading into Cambridge named for the institution... MIT did a structural analysis of the bridge and found it so full of defects that they agreed that it should be named for Harvard. This is all true!

Bostonians think that three straight days of 90+ temperatures is a heat wave.

I was in "Woobun" for some training a couple of summers ago when they were having a "heat wave." One of the guys saw the picture of the buells on my laptop and we started talking about bikes. He showed me pics of his bike and I asked why he didn't ride to class. "Are you kidding? It's too freakin' hot!"
I told him we'd kill for riding weather like that in lower Alabama.
He did eventually ride to class. He had an older Kawasaki sportbike that was immaculate. He did in fact ride a lot, he just took really good care of his bike.

Hmmmm...
Boston is in Lincolnshire, founed in around 654ad and was once part of the Hanseatic League.

Woburn is in Bedfordshire and has the UK's first Safari Park.

leicester is in Leicester and is home to Mallory Park race circuit : )

Chatham is in Kent and was home to the Royal navy for several hundred years.

Somerset is not a twon, but an entire county famous for cider and.....cider drinking

Tewksebury is in Herefordshire (or is it Shropshire?) and I know nothing about it other than it is famous for cider and cider drinking (is there a pattern emerging here?).

Leominster (pronounced Lemster)_ is definitely in Herefordshire and mum lives up the road form there : )
