Im goinb to buy my daughter a new laptop so I've been doing some research since I don't kmow mich about them. I found an article that said new processors ars coming out and the current models will drop significantly in the next month or so. Is this true or just theres always a better one around the corner? I'll probably buy from Costco unless thats not a good idea? Mostly because I like there return policy and im going to return my tablet so ill have store credit there.
Thanks for any advice

There is ALWAYS something better just around the corner when it comes to personal electronics.

Ask yourself what you need the laptop to do.

Then find the one with the KEYBOARD that you like for the lowest price, and buy the next one up from that.

My laptop is one of the original Core2 Duo machines, and it's not fast enough to run games anymore... but it sure does all the office applications just fine, plays nice video and cranks right along.

If gaming is your thing, machines become obsolete rather quickly. If office software is what you're mainly running, then a mid level machine will serve you well for a good long while.

I will NEVER forgive Toshiba for F&$^ing the Navy.

It's personal.

Look into the convicted spy, John Walker. Toshiba-Konigsberg.

There are other computer systems worthy of your attention.

Each time I get a new computer, I always send the receipt to Toshiba as a way of letting them know. Any company I work for, I'll ask for copies of receipts and if allowed, will send them as well.

Capitalists are so shortsighted in the pursuit of profits that they will sell us the rope with which to hang themselves.

Picked up a nice little Samsung laptop for archiving my vinyl collection; nice computer, but I really, really dislike the Windows 8 O.S.

these are what I would be looking at if I was on a budget:

get fastest i5 with 6 gigs of memory (or upgradable) and think about spending 100 buks or so on an SSD for it, and use the existing harddrive for external storage. I would not buy anything without the Intel HD Graphics 4000.
