It's getting close to race day. The most dangerous insane racing in the world IMHO. Couple of videos from the Isle of Man. http://kottke.org/12/08/2012-isle-of-man-tt http://zanylol.com/insane_race.html http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOuh6D5Q_4I...featu re=related |

First one this year...RIP. The Japanese rider Yoshinari Matsushita has been killed during qualifying for the Isle of Man TT, Auto Cycle Union Events Ltd has announced. The 43-year-old was killed in an incident at Ballacrye on the north of the island and the qualifying session was immediately red flagged, the event's organising body ACU Events said. From the Guardian 05.28.13. |

should his leathers be flapping around like that though? no... he really needs fitted leathers. alot of extra drag at speed because of that. and the fact that they will slide around on his body in a crash. having said that, fitted leathers are EXPENSIVE! i could use some too, but the ones ive got will do for what i do. |

Vanson are expensive no doubt but fitted leathers aren't as expensive as one might think. http://www.spartanleathers.com/ |

Glitch, Your first post sums up the IOM as well as anything I have ever seen. It has nothing to do with "blood sport". "There are two things that motivate us. Fear and desire. Once we overcome fear we do what we want."_G |

no... he really needs fitted leathers. alot of extra drag at speed because of that. and the fact that they will slide around on his body in a crash. having said that, fitted leathers are EXPENSIVE! i could use some too, but the ones ive got will do for what i do. The guy with the 'flappy' leathers is Cameron Donald, one of the worlds best road racers. He certainly won't be wearing 'off the peg' or shop bought cheap leathers! His RST leathers would have been made to measure by the factory to his measurements and requirements, so he probably asked for a little more room for comfort. Remember the IOM TT isn't a short circuit sprint but a long and uncomfortable race on public roads, entailing long periods tucked in and flat out. What you don't want are leathers that will not restrict you or be uncomfortable over a long period in the tucked position aas well as when moving around the bike. They may slide around in a crash, but to be honest that is the least of a riders worries if the crash on most of the TT course. Hitting a wall would be a bigger worry (as witnessed with Connor Cummins HUGE crash at the Verandah shown in the film!) |

Got a chance to see the "Closer to the edge" documentary at the H-D museum Friday night. Excellent, no punched pulled, doesn't tap dance around the danger. Overall a great bit of work and very, very exciting. Might be worth buying a PAL DVD player so i can watch it at home |
