My dealer, Goe HD in Angleton,Texas is ill equipped presently and will be worse in the near future so I need an alternative. I brought my bike in early Sat. morning, May 18th. and I was told today that the earliest they will look at it is May 30th, and that's if I'm lucky. I have the extended warranty and some indy's are authorized to submit claims. Anyone know of a GOOD Buell tech in the Houston area? Thanks. |

I deleted my rant...I was confused about the dealership. It was not Mancuso, it was Stubbs downtown location. Much appologies to Mancuso. I've had nothing but positive experiences with them. (Message edited by hootowl on May 22, 2013) |

If they can't service your bike in a timely manner, I'd ask for my money back on the extended warranty. Doesn't help to have it if you can't use it. What's the problem with the bike? |

Hootowl, I NEED to get with you once I get this fiasco ironed out. My bike was running great down through Victoria, Corpus, San Benito, and McAllen down on the Border last Thursday but as I approached Laredo, 10 miles out, the motor died at speed. The WORTHLESS Laredo Harley Davidson dealer which was a Buell dealer before Buell was dropped, and which I later found out signed on with Harley in Oct., 2009 to service Buells for the next 7 years, told me that they do not service Buells! I begged them, told them I was stranded in 104 degree temp on the side of a busy two lane highway, etc. but to no avail. I was then out there for four hours trying to find an escape. I got a tow into a motel and my wife rented a trailer in Houston and drove 300 miles to get me. Anyway, now I'm stuck again. Goe Harley Davidson shows no interest, has only one Buell tech, who is their only HD performance and everything else guy, as he readies for retirement, and they couldn't care less. Any ideas? Thanks. |

Do you have the bike? If it simply died at speed with no warning, it sure sounds electrical. No horrible noises were emitted prior to to the engine quitting? No oil spray anywhere? I'm assuming you've checked all the fuses. Does it crank? Can you hear your fuel pump when you turn on the ignition? |

Independence HD in College Station has always done a good job for me, large or small. Experienced Buell tech. 877-690-1669 |

Jeff, I would really like to talk with you. I sent a pm. Ths. Mike Thanks, Whistler, but 100 miles is a long way, particularly with a bike that won't run. |

Negative Ghostrider. Never got a good feeling from Crossroads and was unhappy w/the service provided at Central. If I gotta go a dealer it's Goe Cycles in Angleton. YMMV, Nels |

Thanks, Forerunner. Appreciate the input. Considering how Goe HD is faltering on their Buell abilities, and soon will be WITHOUT, we in the Houston area are nearly on our own. Thankfully, Hootowl has been kind enough to take the time to help educate a long time rider who is short on trouble shooting abilities, me, how to perform at least the minimal checks/analyses. I don't want to give up my Ulysses. |

Did you talk to the Buell technician at Goe? He really does care and maybe you will have better luck if you actual get to talk with him. At least one of the parts guys there is also a fan of Buell and will not outright snub you. Also the owner at Goe may care. He is often there and seems like he would be one to listen to you. I may have his direct number at home if I held onto the business card. The rest, I agree. They don't even want to hear the word Buell. With all that said, I've only had a shock recall done at Goe. I do my own work. As a side note: Goe is an EBR dealer but I heard they are not pleased that the one 1190RS they bought hasn't sold yet. Of course they don't mention the bike or EBR on their website. They only have an Ebay ad. When I'm ready to buy an EBR I can't trust them if they don't even want to list them on their own website or have a dedicated website for EBR. As for Mancuso, their parts people are really good have always been good to me but they are not a Buell service center as far as I know. Their sales people hate Buell and even when they used to sell them they would hide them as far away from sight as they could and would NOT help you with anything if you were anywhere near the Buells. I should have walked out with that RED CR, I bet they would have let me just to see it gone. Your right that Houston has a Buell problem. I'm in League City and I'll be happy to try to help you if I can. |

Jim, I agree fully with your comments on Goe HD. The Goes are good folks and they do care about Buells. I also agree with your comments on Jeremy in Parts. He is actually a very good Buell Tech but he doesn't wrench any more since he can sell so well. That's a BIG loss for us Buellers. The Buell tech you reference, Leon, is also very good but he is swarmed with Harley dyno, performance, and other things. Besides, he plans to retire in the next year. They'll be without a Buell tech. I got GREAT help! Post coming. Thanks. |

Hootowl, the very nice and very knowledgeable Hootowl, was kind enough to drive 45 miles and trouble shoot my bike, over the phone with me first and then in person. I had checked all of the fuses but once Hootowl put a multimeter to them, something I'll do in the future, the culprit was found. My fuel pump fuse didn't blow but it had a small mechanical failure. I couldn't see it with my poor near vision but the multimeter found it. Changed the fuse and beautiful engine music lit up my garage! Those tiny little fuses can SHUT you down! I've never had one do it before, nor has Hootowl, but it can happen. Hootowl will post a picture of the fuse and his thoughts when he gets time. Thanks to all for the help and thoughts. |

Here's the fuse. One leg is pushed over a bit so you can see the break. In its normal position, I promise you, the break was not visible. I've never seen one go like this. Buss fuses, yes, but not this type.
It was great to meet you Mike. And thanks for the beer |
