The issue of impeachment would go nowhere in the Senate, so would have the same effect on Barry as it did on Slick, i.e., absolutely no effect at all. IF we could take back the senate in 2014, and retain control of the house, then an impeachment conviction stands a chance. Which, of course, is one of the reasons the Demorats have been mucking around with the vote so hard since Barry took over in '08. He BARELY won reelection last November (actually, he didn't win at all, of course). Ten million LESS people voted for him in '12 as did in '08, yet somehow he still managed to "win" in a squeaker, by a mere 400,000 votes spread among four of the swing states, an average of 100,000 votes per state. Vote fraud? Yeah, and then some. He doesn't care how he "won," of course, only that he's still the big dog. That's the MO for his entire life, actually. Anyway, as much as I'd like to bend the ear of some folks in Congress, they already know - much better than you or I - what we're dealing with. It remains to be seen whether they can successfully excise the cancer in the White House. Our chances of remaining a constitutional republic grow dimmer by the day... | ||

City, how do you see the next three and half years going down? 0bama has proven he can - so far - get away with murder. If we take back the senate next year, which I think is entirely possible, and retain the House, then Congress will have the majority to actually DO something about him. All the additional crap that's hitting the fan right now: I can't help but think that we are being played like fish. 0bama has, via numerous executive orders, put in place the mechanism by which he can take over literally every aspect of American life. What he needs, of course, is a BIG domestic crisis to justify pulling this toy out of his toy box. He's very vulnerable politically in next year's mid-terms. Heck, he's so politically fragile he couldn't even get gun control through a Democrat-controlled Senate. He (and his minions in the IRS, DOJ, HHS, EPA, ATF, etc.) have mucked with the integrity of the voting process at every turn during his presidency, but it all seems to be catching up to him. Is this by design? Does he want (or need) a huge domestic crisis before November 2014 so he can play the martial law card? Lastly, he's smart but not THAT smart. Who, exactly, is pulling his strings? | ||

The problem is that investigations like this tend to start with the people at the top and work their way down. Any criminal investigation turns the screws on the low level people first and offers immunity if they will spill the beans. Until this is done, the investigation is easy to stonewall. I hope they eventually go after the low level people who know who told them to do this. | ||

Her lawyer said in his letter to Issa that since she's gonna plead the Fifth anyway, would it be OK if she simply not even appear before Congress, since pleading the Fifth in public would be embarrassing. Issa responded with a subpoena.  Also, her lawyer says she has committed no wrongdoing. Isn't the point of the Fifth Amendment to allow a person not to incriminate themselves? If she's as pure as the driven snow, why should she need the protection afforded by the Fifth Amendment? I hope she testifies. Embarrassed? Yes, I am, by the whole lot of them.
