Our local dealer had a Ducati ST3 and an ST4s this week and the wife decided she might like to check them out in person. She's not been convinced of the Sport Touring kind of bike. She really likes the fit of her Street Triple. So after riding both bikes and much discussion, browsing, etc. she just wasn't really sold on either. Then she asked about the Tiger 800 in their rental fleet. She is completely sold that her next bike will now be a Tiger. The price put us beyond what we were considering right now, so it will wait, but she is totally sold on it.

I checked out the specs on the 800 and was surprised that it actually has less HP than the already de-tuned 675 in the Street Triple. The torque spec. OTOH... I think we all know a bit about the HP vs. torque thing.

I was really hoping she would fall in lust with the ST3. It was a beautiful bike that looked like it had never been dropped. It was sold while we were still there.

Someone also traded in an 1125cr while we were there. He road out on a new to him Monster.

Funny thing, I mentioned earlier that I had no idea where to even find a Guzzi dealer. I checked their dealer finder and they list one not far from home. I was out doing errands yesterday and rode past there. They appear to be a Vespa dealer. I didn't see any actual motorcycles though. The next closest dealer is in Wisconsin. I wonder what they sell?

I just picked up a Multistrada.
I like it. Took me a little while to discover all the settings and how it affects the riding.

Don't try the Stelvio.
I did & it had exactly the same effect as when I first tried a Buell it gave me an itch that had to be scratched.

Had the equivalent of the #77 connector burn up on the Street Trip today. The good news is that it was idling in the garage when noticed smoke coming from under the tank. I debated searching for a similar connector, but decided that unless I could find the exact one, why bother and just soldered it together. My thinking was that if it's not the exact one, there will be splicing involved in a stator swap anyway.

Local dealer did have this come into their used inventory...

Interesting that the specs say lubrication is a splash system. Is that for real?

Should also mention this one that came in when my wife was testing the Ducs.

Big fan of Buell, just wonder if the clandestine "skunk werks" approach to the new EBR bikes is still a great idea as time continues to pass with nothing to keep the faithful at the kool-aid trough. . . Anyone keeping track of the number of guys/gals on this site that have "left the fold" for other brands since EBR first announced the RX/SX/AX, oh so long ago ? ? ?

Not sure why I felt compelled to re-post my earlier statement. . ., have you guys seen the new KTM Adventure ? ? ?

Yeah it's a sort of Aprilia verson of the KTM Duke.
If I wanted a bike for the mountains around here this would be 2nd choice behind another STT.

have you guys seen the new KTM Adventure ? ? ?

Is that the one that looks like a basket full of used razor blades?
I like pushrod V twins. Since I won't buy a Harley after what that jackass Wandell did to Buell, the only choice I had left was a Moto Guzzi. I rode Guzzis in the '70s and early '80s and found them to be sensuous and reliable. When I took a Norge out for a Demo ride, I found that Guzzi hadn't lost one bit of the appeal it had had. The Norge wasn't perfect, but it was a Sport-Tourer with Panache. I've put 46K on it, and it just runs fine with very little maintenance required.
I've owned bikes of various engine configurations over the years. My preferences are,in order:
Pushrod V twins
OHC V twins
Parallel twins; both vertical and angled
Opposed twins
Inline fours
I don't like Gold wings in either 4 or 6 cylinder configurations, and I haven't ridden any of the Inline sixes (Benelli, Kawasaki, BMW).
I hope that EBR comes out with a sport tourer, but I don't expect it. Supposedly, the 1125 was originally slated to be a Sport-Tourer, but the Corporate buffoons at the Mothership were afraid it would steal customers away from H-Ds Touring bikes. Then, they wouldn't let Buell put a full fairing on it, 'cause it would look too much like a Sport bike.
My Guzzi runs fine. It's not a Buell or EBR, but it meets my needs better than anything else out there. And it most definitely has Panache by the boatload.

4 more months until EBR's release of the RX, should be worth the wait.

Went to the dealer today to talk to the parts guy. We walked in and said hi to the owner. He happened to be standing right next to the Guzzi. My wife saw it and said "What's this bike?" with an excited sound. I said "That's the Moto Guzzi that I tried to show you a picture of." A couple of hours later she rode it home... In a huge rain storm!

I like the looks even better in person. Best part is that she was even more happy after riding it home. I hope it grows on me the same way. Cool bike!

If I had the dosh for a Griso too I'd park it in the living room & just sit looking at it.

It's not transportation, it's Art.

So how do you lift the rear wheel for a tire change. There's not center stand, and the exhaust will prevent one from being installed. Single sided swing arm so my pit stand won't work. No hollow axle to use a typical single sided swing arm pit stand. It looks like you can use an ATV jack under the engine, but that's way forward and I would expect the rear wheel to stay down. I'm sure I could rig something up, but I'm curious what the people in the know use. Anyone?

I'm unclear how someone can have a bike for 6 years and only put 1,400 miles on it. Isn't that bike abuse? I'll see that this one is abused no more! Also, the muffler looks to be sized for a tractor trailer rig. Biggest damn thing I've ever seen hanging on a bike. Thinking a GPR carbon unit is in the near future. They claim they will fit with the luggage. The stock can has a bend in the middle to keep it below the bags. Lots to learn about this steed!

Pushrod Twins leaves Guzzi, BMW and URAL (though you CAN get good serviceable Buells - remember those?)

Sifo, Termignoni do an exhaust for the Griso, but personally I'd have to have a Mistral.

Plenty of clips on youtube.

Grumpy, the Mistral Conical would be my first choice. I just have to find out if it will work with the bags. The GPR specifically says it will. I really don't want to drop that kind of coin to find out it won't work for me. The stock pipe has a bend in it to make it clear the bags. Aftermarket pipes are about half the diameter though, so the can have a lot more clearance, especially if the tuck in close to the tire (no swingarm to clear on that side). It's hard to tell from pictures if they will work or not. I'm sure somebody knows.

I see MG has their own version of a track stand to lift the bike right under the foot pegs. At $243 for something that makes a track stand look complicated, I think I can work something out when I need to change rubber.
