Uh.....hate to say it.....but it might be best to have some one with you when he is supposed to be there. Shit could get ugly. I had a similar program years ago, when the guy finally arrived for the drop off he was pissed at ME for HIS discrepancy! I had also threatened to turn him in for theft, that made me the bad guy who loaned him the equipment. Need to be careful with these kind of guys. When all of the yelling and finger pointing got going he called the police on me! Good thing he was a good listener! |

My neighbor is USMC. And we get along. He just finished a Norton resto. My friend Colt is here with me (4" OP .38). My sodium light is on and the driveway is like midday. He won't have a chance to try anything. I'll instruct him to unhook. Show me where its damaged. Turn around, get in his van, and leave my property immediately. If the damage is significant I have his address to send him the bill. |

I meant as a witness to any untoward activity on his part. |

Well when Mr. "I'll be there around midnight" finally showed up at 0500...he didn't have a whole lot to say. He kept trying to beg off..."I'm gonna be late for work tomorrow"..."I'm tired"..."I'll bring it weds"... I just kept reminding him that it was MY property not his and it needed to be in my driveway NOW. So it is. Finally. I'm still done with going out of my way to help people. With the exception of a few individuals...the human race as a whole sucks. Just like my ex wife...he simply didn't grasp the concept that he'd done something wrong. There are too many people on this earth like that today and I'm sick of interacting with them all the time. I'll cuddle with my dogs and bask in my peaceful home environment...all by myself. |

I understand. There is a whole strata of people that firmly believe they everyone owes them. In his mind, he probably is thinking like "that guy is a jerk" "what's his problem?" It's never their problem. Always someone else is to be blamed. I'm glad you at the very least got it back. What was the damage to the trailer, other than your time/sanity? |

Rat, I can't believe we went through this whole thread with no bad jokes about "trailer queens" or "trailer trash" or "trailer park(ed)".... Unless someone wants to start.... :- ) |

The tongue was damaged. Apparently he replaced the drivers side rail from the ball to the frame. I'll be having my shop foreman check out the PARTIAL FRAME REPLACEMENT to make sure its safe. I did manage to explain to this guy in no uncertain terms that I should have been notified the instant the damage occurred and I should have been given the choice of him paying a shop to fix it or allowing him to fix it himself. The only saving grace is, it appears he's better at welding than he is at being smart. |

It's amazing how some just don't understand right/wrong. If I may suggest though, rather than throwing all humanity under the bus (which I fully understand that reaction), perhaps just limit your helping people out where you can limit the risk to yourself. |

1/2 his age would put him right in Dramaville. Rat, If you do, don't let her in the house. And for goodness sake, don't feed her. |

No, you get a girlfriend about twice your age, that is the way to do it. It has been working great for me. |

Dude...double my age would come with a walker and an oxygen tank. I'm 40. Half my age, though...hmmm..... But for right now....this works fine for me. My tan pug Kelsey, and my black and white rescue-whatever (border collie?) Morgan.

I agree. The dawgs are a better option. Generally less expensive, too! |
