Hey everyone, I've decided to let my pride and joy, my copious amounts of hair, get shaved off in order to help raise money to build a handicap access house for a war veteran who was disabled by an IED. Contribute more than 100, and I will style my hair/beard any way you want for 24 hours. Will provide picture proof. The fine people of Honda Manufacturing of Alabama will have to deal with whatever eyesore you dream up. I already have a vote for a lightning bolt mohawk. No money yet, but it sounds entertaining. I plan on shaving in 2 weeks, and keeping the fundraiser open for 2 more following months. All proceeds will go directly to Building for America's Bravest. Direct contributions to Mike can be made at http://www.buildingforamericasbravest.org/houses/? id=25 Mike's facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/pages/Support-Wounded-War rior-Sgt-Michael-Nicholson-USMC/614309545252892 My facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/matthew.d.malott Thank you |

Somehow I missed adding in my fundraising site information. Here is the link: http://fundly.com/shave-the-wookie In case you did not read, the recipient of this fundraising money is Mike Nicholson. I do not personally know Mike, I just know of his situation. He was severely injured by an IED, forever changing his life. He lost both legs, part of his left arm, and suffered a brain injury in 2011. This is not a CHARITY. Mike signed the dotted line knowing the risks. This is a FUNDRAISER, because we as Americans should thank Mike for paying the price that affords us the freedom to do almost anything we want. Once again, even a dollar is a big step. Thanks again for your time guys n gals. (Message edited by malott442 on May 14, 2013) (Message edited by malott442 on May 14, 2013) |

How about if I throw up some bike parts for donors? I have a few x1 odds and ends laying around. If you donate 75 plus pay for shipping, you can have a custom x1 swingarm, setup with a 6" chain drive rim from a hayabusa. Comes with a brand new 48t vortex steel sprocket. I have the removable rearset sprocket, millenium silver, as well as passenger peg brackets. I may have the gauges sitting around as well. I have a manta tank also. |

Update, over 350 donated! I will now style hair for pretty much any donation. So far here is the que: 1. 20+ braids, held in place by little girl hair ties. 2. 11" long fauxhawk with lightning bolts on the sides. 3. Day before shave off, have to shave left side of beard off and leave the right on 4. Day before shave off, have to shave everything off rear of the ears. Think reverse mullet. Or Vikings. 5. At time of shave off, have to shave in even closer the shape of a penis on the back of my head. It's getting wild. Will post up picks of the mini braids tomorrow when my wife puts them in. |

I just realized I never updated this thread. Well, after Fundly's We Pay systemtake (9% !!!! I'll never use them again) I ended up with around 720 bucks including my donation. I rounded it up to 750, and donated it to a great cause. The original donor's needs had been met, so I undertook the task of selecting a donee. It was very humbling, seeing these heroes. I chose Michael Schlitz. if you go to ourbravest.org you can read his story. If you don't form tears of compassion for these men, I feel sorry for you. I can't wait to do something else to help these guys out. I'm chomping at the bit, trying to think of something. If you guys have any ideas, I'm all ears. I'm not rich, but I'm smart and able bodied. |
