I have had about 5 XBs and Ulys come in in the last couple of weeks for various reasons and all had what I consider wacked out mapping. The fuel maps should make sense and flow from small numbers to larger as RPM and throttle position increase--for the most part--- and all these bikes had bigger numbers at low rpm--1900, 2300, than they did at higher rpm areas-- 2900, 3400, 4000 and then back up again, A couple went back and forth -- high, low, high, low and back to high--- must have been an interesting ride! This was in the 100% and 69% columns for the most part but there were other spots as well. So take a look at your maps --esp if it is a so called "race" map as several of these bikes did. If it has 220 bits of fuel at 2900 and 175 bits at 3400 that is WRONG!!! And it needs to be "smoothed" out to look logical. |

I have been planning to visit your shop as my 08 Uly with ebr race module made for my drummer has a huge flat spot between about 3 and 4.5k. Have you seen odd readings on the ebr modules? |

Guess I killed what looked like a good thread. |

So 244 on the front cylinder is a bit much at 2400-2900 rpm? The map was just loaded by hd at the dealer last Saturday. (Message edited by d_adams on May 12, 2013) |

This is where when people claiming "my bike is running lean" after putting and after market exhaust on kind of makes me laugh a bit. I have no doubt there are lean areas of the map. I'm willing to bet there are rich areas of the map too. Mine was all over the place when I started tuning for my Jardine. Now that it's done, it does have a much smoother appearance than the original map. I just thought it was accepted that Buells had fuel map issues. The press complained about it with the XBs. The press complained about it with the 1190s. Wasn't this a big driving force that lead to ECMSpy in the first place? |

Don't know if it'll help - but my race motor is overbored, big valves, big cams, 12.5 compression and has the TwinMotorcycles.NL exhaust system. Been highly-re-tuned to run on 110 leaded. I could email the map if you're interested (it's on my tuning laptop) |

Doesn't it strike you as odd that there is so much fuel at 2400 and 2900 compared to the higher rpms??? Bet that area went to 11.0 or lower on AFR on a dyno as the last one I did.The upper ranges are more normal. |

That is a stock map from an 09 xb12, map is BUE2D242, so I'm assuming it's the last officially released map for the xb12. It was loaded by surdyke hd one week ago and hasn't been touched yet except to download it out of the bike and get screenshots. At this point, I'd say ask HD why the map is where it is, but that is bone stock. Isn't that close to the exhaust valve transition rpm, like right before it occurs? |

Stock, yikes!! Still stand by my statements based on all the different FI bikes I have mapped, Buell or otherwise. |
