I use the go cruise on my XB. Not bad. Works in a pretty specific range on that bike, 60-80, anywhere else it moves too much. It is extremely easy to disengage. |

I was attempting to adjust the right mirror when I realized I missed my throttle lock. looking forward to a test drive with it.... the weatherman says its going to be in the mid 40's this weekend. I hope I can put a bunch of miles on. Need to beat my friend Doug to the 600 mile service..... just because |

Well.... I put about 80 miles on the DR yesterday and my ass was killing me 60 miles into the ride. I did put on a few miles standing to get some relief. When I got home I went straight to the computer and ordered a new seat cover from Seat Concepts. I also pulled the trigger on a "Big Loop" tank bag. While on my ride I stopped by one of the MSF ranges and did a few of the exercises. It was super easy to do the box as I thought it would be. |

Well.... I put about 80 miles on the DR yesterday and my ass was killing me 60 miles into the ride. It is a DIRT bike! Numbass! My son acquired an exercise machine last week. A Yamaha Raptor 660 four wheeler. Four stroke single, water cooled, monster! Wholly crap! It will haul my fat butt in a hurry! It'll make your eyes water if you ride it right! |

I used a local guy. JBSeatz. He put CF and "cheddar" color (2 tone) with 1/4" of memory foam added. $100! Love the cheddar, as I live in WI. |

DR650 Down... bummer Had the DR on the trailer headed to a fellow badwebbers to drop off my Durango to have some work done on it. I was/am going to leave the Durango and trailer at his place and ride the DR home. I had seen a few pics of fork savers and thought to myself, "I can make one of those". NOT The only thing I can think happened was I hit a few bumps. My elcheapo fork saver came out allowing the forks to compress and over she went. The license plate bracket hit the side of the trailer and broke off. After a closer inspection, it was missing two bolts that hold it to the tail section... NICE. Well I'm off to Procycle to pic up a tidy tail.... |

Hey Mark- I narrowly escaped a friend this past weekend, he was BURNING to tell me all about his newly acquired 2004 DR650... he had "that look" in his eyes, almost begged me to come take a ride on it... he's a true gearhead, smart, and VERY persuasive... I ran the other direction! Gots a big remodeling job ahead, unless I sell the GL, no can do. Prolly should use any $$$ from selling that thing for the remodel too. I do wish I could add a nice D/S to the stable... I'll be following this thread for the indefinite future. |

That will be great, those boys can ride! A few observations from the one time I tried it... 1) At the front of the pack, it's much easier. At the back of the pack, it becomes VERY hard. The pack really changes conditions, at least if it is wet. 2) Most people riding aren't riding dual sports like a DR-650... they are riding "dual sports" like a 2 stroke KTM 350 with a flash light duck taped to the handlebars, except they took the flashlight off . I was at the "cabin fever" run on a KLR-250, and that was one of the heaviest bikes running. And my buddy on the XR-650 was screwed. If it's dry it won't be as big a deal. The one fun moment was when a big pack of us was at a gas station refueling. I knew my KLR-250 was probably 1 of the 1% of the bikes there that actually *was* street legal, so I walked over and had a nice conversation with the cop to explain to him what was going on. When I started the conversation, there were probably 25 bikes there. By the time I was a minute into it, there were about 4 of us left. Suddenly, lots of people decided maybe they didn't need gas after all. The cop was very cool about the whole thing. He just wanted to make sure it wasn't a race, and that it seemed to be happening on property where people had permission of the land owners. |
