At the beginning of America Alone, I quote Arnold Toynbee: “Civilizations die from suicide, not murder.” The urge to suicide is always there; the trick is keeping it confined to the outer edges: In the Cold War this kind of moronic false equivalence was the province of leftie professors and fringe playwrights, who spent three decades failing to notice nobody from West Germany was climbing over the Berlin Wall to get into the East. Now this false equivalence is peddled by the politically correct eunuch bureaucracy of the US military.
I note that my faith, and the faith of Our President, Liberation Theology, are not on the list.
My faith probably does belong there, as a creed that calls for defending the innocent is an anathema to the current mythos. The President's faith certainly does, since it's been used to justify mass murder, rouse and infuriate revolutionaries, and is directly responsible for thousands of deaths in the last few decades. ( and the underlying philosophy behind the perversion of Christianity is responsible for the mass murder of hundreds of millions )
But, not so oddly, the Prez's faith is not on that list. Catholics & Jews are, though. Weird how how seems to rhyme with some other, long forgotten event......
....Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Catholic.
Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak for me.
The President gave a fine speech at the UN. In a stunning display of lying through his teeth, he pretends to preach tolerance, and I must say, does so very well, with seeming conviction.
As Former Ambassador Bolton says, “It was like a great big warm fuzzy blanket. The president comes out in favor of tolerance. There’s your breaking news,” Bolton quipped. “The problem with the speech was that it was infused with the fallacy of moral equivalency — that there’s sort of extremism and intolerance everywhere and it’s all the same.”
I agree, a nice, warm fuzzy blanket. Well spoken, well written, and only slightly marred by the President's Declaration that "‘The Future Must Not Belong to Those Who Slander the Prophet of Islam’
In a way I agree. Liars should not prosper. ( Obama does, but, hey!, that's life ) But what HE MEANS, is expect laws to punish those who SPEAK ILL of the faith of the Prophet. Slander will have nothing to do with it.
But, not so oddly, the Prez's faith is not on that list. Catholics & Jews are, though.
I found it funny that Evangelical Christian was at the top of the list. I remember fondly Billy Graham calling for the deaths of the non-believers. Those were the days!
"judge him by the people he surrounds himself with."
We did. He threw every single one of them under the bus, and his Followers were not concerned.
We witnessed the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood under Hillary's watch. I'm afraid of what will happen with this clown running State. You know, given that he thinks our service members are all war criminals.
I must say the few things I've heard the Prez say about the Boston Marathon bombing have been well written and seems the proper things to say. The minions sure toque me off though.
from the article "A recent Kaiser Family Foundation poll found deep and persistent misconceptions about the healthcare law. Public awareness was highest for the most politically unpopular provisions, and many people wrongly believed the law contains provisions like a "death panel" to make decisions about end-of-life care."
There is a death panel in the bill - it is called the IPAB. It is an 'independent' board of 15 administrators that make recommendations and evaluations of care, treatment plans, and investments. Most recently - the mechanism elected to cut cancer treatment reimbursement rates and periods for Medicare recepients, previously they had reassessed the frequency and time frames for women to get mammograms and men to do PSA checks for prostate cancer.... and as these 'recommendations' are taken into consideration for limitations at government programs, you can bet that private insurers are doing the same.
The PPACA bill further requires an Advanced Care Directive to be made by enrollees - this is essentially the end of life decisions of when to unplug, and who has the authority to do it (spouse, guardian, next of kin, executor of state.... or the gov itself)
So they may not be unplugging YOUR grandmother - but they will make sure that entire course of care are not available to the segment of population on Medicare - so mostly grandmas and grandpas
and if you do not have an advanced care directive ?...... rest assured -one will be 'assigned' for you. Remember there is a 'Social Justice' member of the board - ugh. Section 3403 of the bill if you have a morning to paruse it
City, not so much a "death panel" as a "worth panel". Paul Krugman, ( economist, dickhead ) has claimed that only "Obama's death panels" can save the nation.
Doomed to repeat it ?..... we never left it. Administrative sanctioned and driven ethnic cleansing has occurred every decade since WWII; it never stopped - it just moved around the world - finding the next over bloviated sect of academia and politique that latched on to the idea as their own.
Avoid Repeating it - I don't see how we can't.
and don't get me started on the shiate this administration is up to with their gun grab, ammo buys, FEMA plans, DHS motives and Social Justice issues driven by the O.
I would be quite surprised if it DIDN'T happen here - all the traditional grafitti is there.
You will ever notice that those that support the idea of this are never the ones rushing off to commit suicide to be their version of the solution to the issue.... never.
Not gas chambers, but form over function rule. The Homeless don't vote. THAT job belongs to the millions of undocumented Democrat Voters about to be signed up for Obamacare and voter registration.
Ok, Kerry's a D*&^%bag. Everyone understood Hillary as a ploy to hurt her political career and remove a threat to Obama, Kerry, OTOH is going to get a lot of people killed. Danegeld. Moron.
Record debt. Record Deficits. Record Unemployed. Record Food Stamps. War with UN, but not Congress approval. War for Oil. Rise of the Muslim Brotherhood.
When an Iranian Nuke slaughters folk in Europe, he'll Blame George.
tend to Partly agree with the above. It's NOT all Obama'a fault, to be fair. With Bengazi and Boston, the Brahmins of the State Dept. consider to bask in their traditional aura of infallibity. And are wrong, as usual. See WW1. WW2. WW3. etc.
Yeah, there's a complacency, but that's the official face of a bunch of folk who, like the US State Dept. live in a world of power and illusion. I'm pretty sure most Americans with an IQ over 101 are well aware we are at war, no matter what D.C. says.
Don;t know how true the above is, but there's a serious lack of people who actually remember Barack in School and will talk about him.
The current news is that at least one of the Boston Marathon Bombers went back to the screwedistan region of Russia a few years back for jihadi training.
So, I might add, did Barack Hussein Obama go to Pakistan with his "Roomie" back in his college days, but, of course, not on Barack's American Passport, and honestly I can't tell you what they did there. Since... he wasn't allowed to go there at the time, and like all questions about his past, that are not part of his construct of imagined awesomeness he doesn't give answers.
And the records are sealed.
Gee, considering what an actual American Citizen has to go through to "seal" his gun registration so some leftist doesn't publish his address for bad guys to see.....
How Do You get your school records, financial records, travel and passport records..... sealed? I'm really curious about that.
A guy traveling through Mexico on vacation lost his wallet and all of His identification. Cutting his trip short, he attempted to make his Way home but was stopped by the U.S. Customs Agent at the border. "May I see your identification, please?" asked the agent. "I'm sorry, but I lost my wallet," replied the guy. "Sure buddy, I hear that every day. No ID, no entry," said the agent. "But I can prove I'm an American!" he exclaimed. "I have a picture of Ronald Reagan tattooed on one side of my butt and George Bush on the Other." "This I gotta see," replied the agent. With that, the guy dropped his pants, bent over and showed the agent his behind. "By golly, you're right!" exclaimed the agent. "Have a safe trip back To Chicago ." "Thanks!" he said. "But how did you know I was from Chicago ?" The agent replied, "I recognized Obama in the the middle....
Peggy Noonan wrote a great opinion piece in the WSJ today.
The Presidential Wheel Turns Disaffection for Bush gave us Obama. That explains the new affection for Bush. by Peggy Noonan
Barack Obama was elected president in 2008 because he was not George W. Bush. In fact, he was elected because he was the furthest thing possible from Mr. Bush. On some level he knew this, which is why every time he got in trouble he'd say Bush's name. It's all his fault, you have no idea the mess I inherited. As long as Mr. Bush's memory was hovering like Boo Radley in the shadows, Mr. Obama would be OK.
This week something changed. George W. Bush is back, for the unveiling of his presidential library. His numbers are dramatically up. You know why? Because he's the furthest thing from Barack Obama.
Obama fatigue has opened the way to Bush affection.
