 Can anyone ID this? It is why one of the two motors in my humidifier won't run. It is an"open" in the circuit and is under the coil tape where the power lead connect to the coil.Yeah,I'm a cheap ass and I don't throw anything out that can simply be repaired. | ||

Oh you're good Ourdee! Makes sense....the motor bearing was dry/dragging...so something had to give. 115c is all the same for 110 volt motor? With ten of them,I can fry a few before I realize I need a heat sink to solder it on....   (Message edited by just_ziptab on April 04, 2013) | ||

Yeah, a thermal fuse. That's what stopped my coffee maker from making coffee. It turns out that the heating element got separated from the warmer plate slightly enough when the thermal paste connecting those two somehow dried up and allowed the heating element to get too hot causing the thermal fuse to open-circuit. So a quick trip to the local electronics store scored a perfect match for the fuse and thermal paste. |
