OK, ran across this guy's site after following it out of CL... I'd been aware of his work/shop for a while, but not taken the time to READ his stuff on his site, which is great fun!

Be sure of look around for his pics- not many, but still fun.

What a great site.

Here's my favourite quote.

"There are many excellent reasons for restoring a funky old bike, but rational economic self-interest is not among them."

Ta for the link Squids.

Yeppers, being able to read his very eloquent thoughts about vintage bike repair is great fun in and of itself.

Some of the greatest minds I've known just happen to be great mechanics- the "naturals" are the most fun to talk with! Just down the street from me is a archetypical "good ole boy", fix it ALL, ANYTHING, kind of guy- best description is a "tinker"- if it's mechanical, he'll fix it or tell you why it's junk, in a manner and with a patois that is gonna be extinct someday. LOVE spending time and $$$ with him.
