Howdy. I finally got a dSLR, Canon 60D, kit 18-135mm lens. I had some budget lenses, Canon 75-300 and a Vivitar Series 1 100-400. I sold the 75-300 and turned around and bought a used Canon 55-250mm. I also sold the Vivitar beast, I liked the reach but not the results, so I'm saving up for a Canon 100-400L. I'm also saving for something in the 10-22mm range as well. So, anyway, let's share some photography. Critique welcomed. These two are available light and between 15-30 second exposures: And this is the location we were visiting at: Hopefully they aren't too big, if so then just yell at me and I'll delete them and come back another time and post something smaller. |

Nice shots, but I have to admit the old Gravely tractor grabs my attention more than photography. Still I know the typical light available in the bottom of a barn. Those long exposures are fantastic. |

Farm owners have an emotional attachment to the 3-wheeler, not so much for the tiller, so the melding won't happen. Sorry. My next visit will include an attempt to see what's in the upper section of the barn. That and maybe dragging a small fishing boat across the snow. |

What City said! Nice pics, BTW. It's been a while since we've had any good eye candy from the several talented photography peeps here... thanks! |

I've been watching some of the youtube tutorials from BHPhotoVideo and from AdoramaTV like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pas-GiB9jzo&featur e=youtube_gdata_player Dangerous in that I get the desire to buy stuff that I can't afford. Also I've been wanting to visit NYC and as part of the trip it would be nice to sit in on some of the seminars and presentations. My wife has mentioned wanting to visit NYC, but I don't know how she'd feel about sitting in a classroom for a presentation. Here's pic I took when I first got the camera: And another one I snapped: I've also gotten into the habit of taking pics of photographers at grandkid sporting events, sometimes the photog's are not amused, I just like seeing what gear and lenses they are using and how they use them. This guy was at a high school girl's basketball game:

Ran across this story today- if you appreciate architectural photography, there are more than 30 neat images here, with plenty of historical value to boot: http://www.npr.org/blogs/pictureshow/2013/03/01/17 3140765/the-photographer-who-made-architects-famou s |

I remember that breakwater in Port Washington. Spent much time there in my youth. Thanks for posting it! |

Small world, I grew up near Seattle and am now here in Wisconsin. I'll be taking more shots around Port and the region this year, I'll try to post a few along the way in this thread. They are also having a H-D 110th street party this summer in Port one night this year, I'll try to find a few Buells to post pics of as well. = = = = = Nice architectural photographs in that link. Thanks for posting/finding the link. |
